Why not Claypool with Steelers first pick?

Paul and Sask you gotme! (Pm me your names and addresses)

Ol cooch should have taken the bet. Even when he is right he fails. (No cooch others touted him first just for you to remember). lulz

How ironic a guy we debate is our pick lulz.

Anyways he is a Steelers now I will be rooting for him!

Go Steelers !

All good Slash......... I just didn't want the rats to get him...... I think it will open up some opportunities for JuJu and DJ.. and we can now field a WR/TE group with more size than the Houston Rockets starting line up.......lol

and here is a little known reason why I really like him.........he blocks like a larger version of the one and only Hines Ward .... he enjoys it too.........

:bump2::bump2:

I would appreciate a picture to add to my collection...... I will PM tomorrow after the 4th round picks........... and I will still send some of this year's Maple Syrup if possible or bring some on my next trip to Pittsburgh when it is safe to do so........ celebrate the CDN boy making good on draft day and in the future...

So Chris Simms has a serious hard-on for this guy, but some good breakdown on the little things this guy does that may go unnoticed with some (fairly long video):

Good breakdown had everything and the kitchen sink. He definitely has some Hines Ward physicality to him.So while he is developing you can throw him on special teams. The kids ability to get those 50/50 balls will help when the separation isn't there.

Total freak. Just looked at his combine numbers again. Over 6'-4", 238 lbs, has a 40"+ vertical (are you kidding me?) and runs a 4.42.

I like what I see talk me out of it.

I'll watch his clips and break it down after the draft.

Early thoughts: Towering size, good long range speed, a power house as a blocker. Good production in college his senior year. Maybe a bit of a late bloomer, got better every year in college. Should be a real factor on site line throws, vs Cover 3 deep, and in the Red Zone.

Football character is good, so I read.

Dude will at least get some redzone targets and deep throws this year. At 6'-4", a 40"+ vertical, big hands and strong, who the **** is going to cover him in the endzone? Throw it up and let him go get it. Even if he is a decoy, he opens the field for the other guys. Just hope they can get more than a few weeks of practice before the 1st game.

Does the site permit "quoting" yourself?

Of course, for better or for worse (hehe). Probably the eternal optimist in me, but I'll go one further, and say he has superstar potential. After all the analysis and tape and highlights I've watched, I don't know how he lasted to #49. I guess the only one year of good productivity gave some pause. But a touchdown a game his senior year, this guy is going to be a TD magnet.

Choose Chase BandWagon ....... started in Canada making its way to the Burgh

Since his pick in the 2nd round we have decided to choose a different mode of transportation to support the movement

Hey all you NFL DBs look what's a coming your wayyyyyyyyyy........

Oh and the one stupid Debbie Downer thing that I'm seeing is that Notre Dame doesn't churn out good WRs.

That's like saying Michigan State wasn't exactly an RB factory, then came Le'Veon Bell.

yeah...I know...more known for the tight ends...

But I prefer to look at this way...Claypools size makes him a pseudo Tight End for this sake of this discussion...

Loved the Simms tape. What I really liked was his breakdown of his takeoff. Which of course looks pretty slow to the naked eye. But in reality he is capable of using setups to just post up the guy. And really if you over commit to that he has the speed to go by you and force you to grab. Lets envision a formation where its second and say 7 you have Juju and DJ on the outside. Ebron at TE. And Claypool in the slot. He is essentially a flexed out TE. You put say Samuels in as the back. He is the best pass catching RB on the team and could still run. If you go a cover one you are at serious risk of Ebron and Claypool going vertical and dividing the safety. If you play cover two you have to be pretty damn careful two. As shown in that tape, If you widen that saftey at all he will simply skinny post him and body him out. If you narrow it too much you will be dealing with Juju and DJ/ Washington on the outside. And then if you over commit this you will have Samuels matched up with an easy check down. If you want to pop a draw, this kid can put his body between a linebacker. If it goes 3/4 of what Simms is saying, this could be steal of the draft.

Whoa slow down there this would involve coaching and gameplanning.....

Just saw this post now and enjoy your ability to envision things like that (a specific down and distance, formation etc.), makes it easy to appreciate this young man's potential contributions, which could be huge!

Agree, he could become a nightmare for opposing D's from the slot

Good call, Coach.

I like his raw speed and vertical (11th best in the draft). Good special teams addition with nice senior production at Notre Dame.

Hopefully we won't be calling him Cesspool at any point in the future.

Right. Claypool will work well with Ben assuming can come back. Claypool reminds me a bit of Burress, not quite as NFL ready, but with better speed. The fact that Slash and Bremuda didn't think he was worth the pick probably means he will be a good one.

Do you have reading comprehension problems? It is ok if you do I just would like to know before picking on you for being a dumbfuck. I thought the third round would be his calling card. Not that he wasn't worth a pick twatwaffle.

That works for me.... I just wish he had kept his #83 instead of going to #11 (makes him look small) .......lol

I'm glad to see the once in a lifetime generation RB's #26 is being used and not reserved.

Salute the nation
