HellA yes, bring him in, see what he has left. 2.5 mil or less and you sign him provided he passes all the test(s).

2yr 3.6mil add 1.4 signing bonus (one can dream)

Big obstacle would be his age as the Steelers usually target under 30 year olds. But for an experience cheap backup they could do worse. And being a cut he wouldn't count against the comp formula.

Has been injured frequently with knee and chest issues. Missed a lot of games past couple years. If they are going to give a prove it deal for a injured safety to back up Minkha and Edmunds I would rather give it to Sean Davis who knows the defense than to a 32 y/o who doesn’t.

I am not sure Davis would want to return as a backup though. Unless you are giving him a shot at SS. But I would think he would like his chances to start elsewhere. The reasons you mentioned is why we could possibly get Reshad on the cheap. Not that I would mind Davis back as a backup, I wouldn't. But I think he and Burns is good as gone. Here Reshad could be rotating in and play on a championship caliber D with his ex teammate. I was thinking the limited reps could keep him healthy, and productive. And the attraction of playing for a SB caliber team andddd with his ol teammate could be an attractive lure for him. Because they have to want to be here not just the teams want. It has to be mutual. This point in his career I would think he would be open to a rotating backup. As far as learning the D I would think a talented vet could come in and not miss a beat. Similar to what like say a Weddle did for the rats although like I mentioned he would obviously be playing a lot less.

We have no money. And even less for aging, injury plagued players in our secondary. *The opinion expressed may not reflect the view of the poster*
