According to what they are talking about, the NFL is going to or already did implement where the bull rush is now illegal. You can't lead with your head (even in close quarters like a bull rush is) and you must initiate all contact with your hands. If this is the case, sack numbers will drop and QB's are going to have even more time to throw. I am not sure what the league is trying to do here other than ruin the league. There was absolutely nothing wrong or harmful about a bull rush.

If this is true, this season is going to look totally different. And, if Dupree relies heavily on a bullrush, can he adapt and is that question mark worth the tag? I know Watt can adapt as he has multiple moves but this will still take one big tool out of his toolbox.

Crazy ****! Just put skirts and flags on them now.

Crazy bull ****!

This actually makes no sense because a bull rush IS about using your hands. To an O-lineman just using his head, no arms, would be hugely disadvantageous, like playing with your hands tied behind your back.

If you haven't noticed,............ The GREED MACHINE (also known as the NFL) hasn't been football for quite some time now. Taking this aspect away just adds more to the lop-sidedness of the NFL. At one time each of the three phases of the game had equal importance,.................... NowA days, not so much. It's driven by fantasy football as that is the real money maker because that drives viewership. It's all about the money.!

Salute the nation

QB's may as well just wear skirts.. If I were a player, this would make me want to take any shot, even a borderline cheap shot on any QB that decides to run.

Thing is that a quality bullrush is what basically sets up every other move. The oline has to anchor to stop that move which sets him up for all other speed and hand related moves like rip and swim.

It will still exist, you just have to initiate with your hands FIRST. Watt already does this. Dupree significantly improved his hand work last season. I don't see this rule affecting our teams's main pass rushers AT ALL.

Agree with Cope and SIL here. If you are leading with your helmet on the bull rush, the offensive lineman is simply going to use his hands to throw you to one side or the other and then watch you stumble and fall.

Pass rushers are taught not to have their upper bodies too far in front of their hips as they lose balance. If you lose balance, you have lost the pass rushing war. You win that war with quickness, good balance, good hand technique, and multiple moves to set up the offensive lineman.

Awesome! More plays to throw flags on. I want to see flags on at least every other play. I think the NFL should have referee trading cards. Maybe Tops can produce them. May as well since they're such a huge part of this **** show.

I don't think they are making the move illegal, they are making close contact helmet to helmet, initiated by a player illegal. And by the nature of the technique, it is going to happen. Every pass rusher gets hands extended. Allowing a Olineman to get into your frame is death to a pass rush.

They adjusted to not laying on top of the QB I don't see this as Mission Impossible Ethan.

Just another ******* judgement call the refs have to try to watch and throw on a flag on something the "thought" they saw.

They were gonna rule all head contact illegal a couple of years ago, which would've severely impacted offensive line play. That just disappeared. I'm skeptical with this one.

Just another way to keep Marsha arpund for 30 more years.

The refs suck as it is. They seem to get worse every year instead of getting better. This is just adding more to their plate. The NFL needs to finally make the officials salaried so there is more accountability there. Heck, add another ref to the field and make sure they all are tested multiple times a year on the rules. I'd rather they just let them play. All of these added rules over the past decade hasn't helped the game. They have made it worse.

What they need to do is bring in the targeting rule similar to college. Instant justice with disqualification. And it is fairly cut and dried when you look at it in slow mo. That should be done long before this ****.

Just think when the legal gambling starts how easy to pay off the refs with these type calls are so suspect

Great. Here comes the 10 Mississippi Rule
I read that and all I could think of was:
......9 Mississippi.....THROW THE BALL BEN!!

lol. He has been much quicker last few years, but I still cant get sandlot FG Bruce era out of my memory.
