I know there are many candidates, most are well deserved, but how is Bradshaw not in, and Starbauch and Elway are? Sure Elway has the stats, but he played long enough to get them. Brad had 2 SB MVPs to go with his 4 Lombardis. Of course any list can’t satisfy everyone, but for the sake of human common sense......horse#$&* of a list.

Marcia would get in regardless since he’s the poster boy for the cheats, that the league will never address until Goodell is no longer commish.

Never mind Bradshaw for a minute. Put up Elway's stats and Roethlisberger's. And flip back and forth between the two. They are virtually the same except in the same time period Ben has a bout a years worth more yards, better winning percentage and 14 points on the passer rating. But when you get ****** on all the accolades along the way, the pro bowls, the MVP's, All Pros it all adds up to that. If Roethlisberger isn't first Ballot HOF the whole thing is completely corrupt. Roethlisberger, Elway and Favre are all pretty much the same in my books. Three guys you could put in any era and they would have had big success. I really am not sure you could say the same for Manning and Brady. All that cerebral **** is great when you are largely protected from the viciousness of the game. You make a bad read and you can't take three steps and bleacher the ball, then see what happens.

I think it is a microcosm of the big head view of Roethlisberger's entire career. There are guys with big wins on the list and less stats and there are guys with lots of stats and less winning. When he wins they make it about stats. When he has stats they make it about wins. There is simply no way that Elway deserves to be on that list any more than Roethlisberger. There just isn't.

As you know Ben or Bradshaw won't be on there. So you know it is worthless.

Its people voting on name recognition and personal bias over play and accomplishments. Ben will always have the stigma of a sexual predator around his neck. Bradshaw will always be the big dumb country QB from that team in the 70's that people are tired of hearing about. Seriously, how many people who voted even saw TB hit Swanny and Stallworth on those bombs? In a pre-pass era at that. Most today probably know him as the big goofy broadcaster.

Lists are dumb.

Elway is so ******* overrated.

Bradshaw and Staubach are interchangeable. Ahead of Sammy Baugh i think. No BREES is a travesty. Someone has to go ahead of him.

Unitas, Staubach, Baugh..All could be stricken. They say OTTO Graham deserves it. Hell, the game was SOOOO different.

Brees cannot be left off, that is just stupid

In terms of the view of Roethlisberger as the sexual predator I will say this. In other eras that wouldn't have even been a story. See Joe Namath here. However, if it was now in the current environment he would have had a 7 year Steelers career. He would be done. The Rooney's wouldn't have been able to handle the negative scrutiny. At least early in his career, I think Ben let a lot of **** go to his head and he may well have been a first rate *******. I don't think a lot of people have moved on from that. Cause at least publicly how much more of the right things could he possibly say.

Its more than just the pedator bit I think. I kinda cherry picked that, but bottom line is that Ben isn't an All American Prep guy. Staubach was that. Brady is. Pey Pey was. Unitas for sure. I could go on.

That Brees isn't on the list is dumb.

This is the era of millennial sensitivity. Everything is blown up with agendas reigning supreme. Half the time I hate even going on social media. It is sickening. Big Ben and Bradshaw hate is jealousy driven. They love to knock both down any chance they get. 6 rings no cheating football world suck on it and deal with it you twatwaffling twits.

In the old days, sports heroes were actually defended by the press...stories were squashed out of respect for the player or team...not so much these days. Every "journalist" searching for the next "gotcha" moment.

An old-timer I used to work for is a Bronx native and regularly saw tons of Yankee games (along with just about any famous NY sports event from the 40s to the early 70s) and told me Joe DiMaggio would routinely kick, punch and spit on the kids that asked for his autograph after games. The press would never report that kinda stuff back then...they'd be thrown outta Yankee Stadium permanently, lol.

I have no doubt, not about DiMaggio, I have no idea about that. But the cover ups for sure. But on the other end of it, had Ben been born later or this current atmosphere had occurred earlier, he would have been sunk for sure.

Elway played most of his career in a completely different era where 15-20 TD passes and 3000 yards got a QB probowl consideration.

Ben entered the league right at the time when the league really started restricting what both DBs and LBs could do in coverage. In fact, 2004 was when **** started to get crazy in terms of passing production.

The 100th anniversary team is about as exclusive as it gets. A lot of great players were left off, not just QBs

Top ten/50/100 lists are completely subjective thus virtually worthless.... it was like reworking the passer rating to include a subjective portion of it... it totally invalidates its meaning cause it goes from straight tangible facts, to opinions...

But on the flip side to that, ben played the first 4 or five years in an older style offense... it wasn’t until about 09 or 10 that we really got on board with a wide open offense, and from that point his numbers look about the same as the other all timers...

Now you are making excuses. There are some old school guys who played when they barely even passed at all. There are a some from the early modern era and there are some very recent guys. Do you think Favre and Elway are better QBs than Roethlisberger? Cause I got them dead even. Ben has the same Championship and winning pedigree as both and only Favre's longevity define a difference in stats. I'm not necassarily saying that Ben should be on, I could even live with Brees ahead of Ben. But It just seems that with Elway and Favre you are including attributes that go beyond raw statistical analysis. And I think Ben has those same attributes. And then even if you want to really go there, you are leaving off Bradshaw in favor of those two and the guy won 4 ****** championships.

The only meaningful stat for QBs are Wins and Championships. The one stat to measure all others. It’s relevant regardless of eras. Sure Graham and Baugh played in a different era, but they had wins and championships before the SB era. Baugh, playing QB, RB and defense with two Championships and Graham with 7...freaking 7 NFL championships. They should be there as well as Unitas, who had 3 NFL Championships and MVPs.

All the stats for QBs are a product of how the game was played. If you look at the most meaningful stat for QBs...wins/championships it should be easy. I love Marino and he won a ton of games along with those stats. But without the championships it’s hard to make him an automatic top 10 IMO.

DiMaggio hit and spit on kids? Wow, I just couldn’t fathom Joe doing that. There must be some kind of back story to it.

Obviously, you have to adjust for eras and look at how dominant the player was in his respective era.

Favre was great statistically not just because he played a long time.

Ben has never dominated the league like Favre did in the 1990s. Favre was named league MVP three straight years in the middle of the decade.

I think Ben is more comparable to Elway in that he was rarely dominate statistically, but won a lot of games while frequently making great throws/plays.
