AB Working out with the Saints

Must be for him to potentially play next year. He will be placed on the exempt list if he’s signed.

hmmm ... a fuckup like AClown in the Chocolate City on Bourbon Street putting some VooDoo in his DooDoo.

Saints would deserve every bit of bad karma that would come there way if they signed him. Unreal that teams still want this clown.

I don't blame them for wanting his talent but if they haven't been paying attention to his actions they are insane for not figuring out he clearly has real mental health issues and needs help.

Even if they sign him, the league damn well better put him on the commissioner's list so he can't play. There can't be a different standard for AB just because he keeps crying racism.

No way Michael Thomas is sharing targets with that ******.

think AB's ego could take being the 2nd best receiver on another team. I hope this falls into shambles quickly and the Saints steer clear of this walking entity of destruction. If the Pats cheat their way to another Superbowl appearance I would hope they would get destroyed in the big game by the Saints. Having AB on the team would detract from that scenario. Remember how that Adrian Peterson signing went for them. Sean Payton does not like prima donnas chirping in his ear about getting the ball.

Yeah, except its more like "No way Antonio Clown accepts sharing targets and media coverage with Michael Thomas". AB not exactly a "team first" guy.

Really surprised at this. Like Paul G just said, Payton not type to put up with his antics. Which brings to me something I’ve been thinking about. The reports about Tomlin even going as far to tell team he would put up with it till production didn’t warrant it can’t be good for team chemistry. Media keeps saying Tomlin did great job “managing” him. Not sure if it’s managing someone in a leadership kind of way to coddle them and give in to them. Obviously hind sight 20/20 chemistry did suffer, which begs the question, is that leadership by Tomlin? Not meant to be a bash Tomlin reply, but I just dont see at any level how that’s good for team. Hell change it from football to anyone who relies on teamwork to do everyday jobs. One bad apple........

I don't understand why they'd bring him in now. Jump start on next season? The guy isn't playing a snap this year.

I think it is low risk at this point for the Saints. There’s no doubt AB’s a talented player. You bring him in for the playoffs, hope you can get some production out of him during the honeymoon period, before he has a chance to destroy the team. You cut him if it doesn’t work out. There is a chance the NFL puts him on the Commissioners list, but they haven’t explicitly said that. That’s only been reported in the media. It’s worth the risk. I’d try it.

As far as the whole Tomlin thing (can’t believe ever thread has to go there). AB evolved into who he is now. It’s easy to sit back and Monday morning QB it in hindsight sight, but in the end he was going to be who he was going to be. Bottom line is AB is a grown man. I hold him 100% responsible for his own behavior. All Tomlin could do was respond. He’s a diva WR like most/many. If you don’t think there are double standards all around the league for these guys, you’re naive.

I actually had already put the Saints in the Super Bowl and winning it. If this happens I will totally root against this happening. Would be a massively douchey move by a class organization.

How bad do you want the SB to put up with him?

NO Saints: a lot!

No ****, this is Sean Payton making this move, and for a reason

He could sign him, Saints don't have to pay him till he clears, keeps him away from other playoff teams, NFL fast tracks the investigation, AB available for a deep playoff run

They cut him after the SB parade, lol

Keeping him from the cheats is the main thing, IMO

Having two #1WRs would also be a nightmare for any defense, who do you double cover?

cant be both, someone always gonna be running free.

Or maybe Payton just wants to give the middle finger to the league, they still remember Bountygate, lol

Micheal Thomas has been limited in practice this week due to a hand injury per nfl.com. Perhaps it is worse than they are letting on. I find it hard to believe the Saints didn't talk to the league about him before they brought him in. They must think there is a chance they will get him on the field. No reason to work him out this week otherwise. If it was for next year, they could bring him in after the playoffs if it was for next year.

Maybe the world will get lucky and AB will move the workout to a local high school.

Imagine the drama of the SB prep week if AB becomes available just as the Saints make it to the SB round!

The blizzard of coverage hype would be off the charts on the drama scale, thats mega good for the league bankroll

According to Clark, he warned the Steelers not to give him that type of money. He said he was already showing signs of being a diva. His first practice after getting the money he screamed at LeBeau. So it wasn't an evolution that Tomlin watched. It came right away. Tomlin covered it up. AB was allowed special privileges that others weren't. He was allowed to show up late to practice. He stayed in a different location during camp ETC.. Tomlin allowed him to run the place. ABs actions are on him. However, the organization's response to AB are on Tomlin who allowed it to happen in his locker room.
