Karlan is not licensed as an attorney in California (where she teaches), and has never been licensed in California. She was licensed in New York in 1987 and seems to have been an actual lawyer for two years with some public interest concern, i.e., no actual clients.
Her opinions on the allegations against Trump have almost no weight. She knows less about the evidence code than I did in 1989. She has not been in a courtroom as an attorney for 30 years. I suspect she could not win a traffic ticket case.
No different than some apprentice carpenter who has not worked in construction for 30 years offering opinions on a 3-story custom home. He can have his opinion, but it is based on nothing and worth even less.

Here is an idea..........let us have a secret whistle blower come forward claiming that he has evidence that every Democratic member of Congress has committed treason. We need to protect the whistleblower, so he can't be made to testify. You just have to believe that what he says is true. Oh, and he overheard the treasonous behavior from some else's conversation.

I read something today I wasn't aware of, that Chief Justice Roberts will actually preside over the Senate Impeachment hearings, not Mitch McConnell, including deciding on witnesses, etc. I think someone should tap Trump on the shoulder and tell him, as he's acting like he's gonna have full control over his own impeachment through his proxy Moscow Mitch.
I will type slowly so that you understand:
- Nunes is part of the Intel committee.
- Part of the Intel committee's JOB is to investigate corruption involving foreign governments.
- Nunes would literally be DOING HIS JOB in speaking to Ukranians about corruption and Biden.
- Biden was at no time, ever, a "political opponent" of Nunes. You get that right??
- So the whole "getting evidence from a foreign power about a POLITICAL OPPONENT" would not even apply. Again, you get that right?
- Also, Nunes did not and could not offer Ukraine or Parves anything of value in exchange, except perhaps immunity - with the DOJ offered him apparently. You get that as well, I hope.
- Therefore, to sum up, Nunes was (1) doing his JOB, (2) with no possible involvement of a political opponent, (3) where he could not possibly offer anything of value in return, and therefore (4) no possible illegal activity - except of course by Schitt and the Dims.
Simple enough??

And you evidence a profound lack of intellect about any litigation. The judge rules on evidence - THAT'S IT. Who is called, what evidence is sought to be introduced, the issues litigated are handled by the litigants, i.e., Trump and his lawyers, along with the Republican House impeachment committee and the Senate's (D)im impeachment team, along with the (D)im House impeachment committee, led by Jerry Nadler and his exercise coach.
So the Senate Republicans run the show, subject to evidentiary rulings by the Chief Justice.
Unfortunately, you seem to have as little actual litigation experience as Pamela Karlan's dried-up ****.
