Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's.............vs Clowns.....

It couldn't have started off any worse for our Steelers letting the Clowns march right down the field and go up 10-0.At that point I honestly lost faith....just because I didn't have any confidence in our offense without our 3 starters at QB, RB & WR. Duck & company proved me wrong....these young kids all stepped up and grew a little bit today and James Washington really stepped up today and we are seeing glimpses of young kids like Tevin Jones & Deon Cain too with Juju out. I did notice a ray of hope today that I haven't seen in many years.....we have a kid who can return kickoffs pretty good. Kerrith Whyte is definitely exciting to watch back there returning kickoffs.The Steelers Defense stepped up in the 2nd half....I don't think the Browns converted on 3rd down in the 2nd Half and 3 times on 3rd down the Steelers sacked Baker to end the drive. I gotta give credit to Coach T & keeping this team focused throughout this season. Starting off 1-4 and having not only your #1 QB down but your #2 QB going down in week 5 too it's hard to keep everyone on the same page. Maybe all the Tomlin haters can at least give credit where credit is due to Coach T. It's hard to stay focused when you are missing your #1 QB, #1 RB & #1 WR all OUT with injuries. Down to our #3 QB not to mention missing our A--Pro Center....Maurkice Pouncey. Hard to believe our Steelers control our own destiny here these final four weeks. Next up a trip to the desert to face Kyler Murray and the Cardinals.


Injuries per Tomlin Post Game:
A few bumps and bruises but no significant injuries in this game


Game Balls:
James Washington - 4 rec 111 yds 1 TD.......with no Juju Washington was able to step up and make some nice catches downfield.
Benny Snell - 16 carries 63 yds 1 TD - Some tough yards on the ground today with some good runs....also did a very good job securing that football as the Clowns were trying to rip it out all day!
Devlin Hodges - Giving a game ball to Duck for the Win....some good decisions throwing the football today....some rookie mistakes but as Tomlin said in his Post Game.....He Didn't Kill Us!
Bud Dupree - Had good pressure from the blind side for much of the game.....forced a fumble and had 2 sacks. Big Day for Bud
Javon Hargrave - Stats won't show it but he was really disruptive the whole time he was in there.
Joe Haden - Nice INT to seal the victory....had a great day in coverage...kept Beckham pretty quiet 3 receptions 29 yds.....don't think he had a reception in the 2nd half either.

Game Goats:
Officiating Crew - Holy Hell man.....the calls that went against the Steelers today were ridiculous....the catch by Jarvis Landry on the sideline.....his right foot was up before he secured the football and you could see he was juggling it as he had his right foot off the ground.....refs still gave him the completion. Not to mention the BS call of downing the punt on the 1yd line.....if that was a pass the pass would have been incomplete....he didn't complete the process of downing the football either....and he touched it as he was laying across the Goal Line....should have been a touchback. Some ticky-tacky penalties too...the Roughing the QB on the Final drive against Bud Dupree.....hit him as he threw it...shouldn't have been a penalty.

FU's:
FU to the Clowns team, coaches, owner & fans - I love the fact that our Steelers pretty much put the final nail in your Playoff Coffin. I hope you win your next 4 games LOL!
 
I thought the Landry catch could've gone either way. Reminded me of Santonio's catch in the SB. The downing of the punt and Buds roughing call were absolutely terrible. When Fouts disagrees with the calls against the Steelers, you know they're bad.

Can't forget about Watt...at least a half sack in 9 straight games...beast!

They put them back on in the 4th. Wtf is fitch thinking. Running down their throats and let’s do some qb runs. **** sake
 
Despite that bad pass defense Bush quietly led the team in tackles. Fitz and Haden were money late. Kudos to the D with 5 sacks some overall good coverage, and a timely INT. Hargrave does enough against the pass to be valuable resign.

Especially, ESPECIALLY, a few short plays after the pos brownies player who went “duck hunting” himself, targeted, and then blew the air out of Duck’s chest, and tossed him like a ******* rag doll on our series before on the third down play. If one was a penalty, then both of them should have been. This officiating crew was a joke, and disgrace to the game with how inadequate they were. They took forever and a day on every call, and almost seemed like they were trying to figure a way to screw us over. Like the false start on Duck, where it didn’t doesn’t even look like he ******* flinched.
 
My only ***** is how the NFL tries to control games through the officials. That's as clear as can be. You've already ****** up the football product enough. **** just makes you look like the wwe. Stop it. It's not needed. You don't need to make some compelling story line every ******* season. Just play. Every ******* year you add more bullshit.

Replay has forced the NFL to write rules that account for things that happen faster than the human eye can see. Now the rules can't get out of the way of the game. Worse, they send these damn replays up to NY to review. It doesn't matter if they get it right or wrong because half the fans watching the game will be pissed off by the call. This is just not a good look for the sport.
 
The coaches did a very good job today. Hung around and let the defense take over the game. The pass call on third down to try to close the game was ridiculous. You are going to leave them with a minute and change and no timeouts and your defense has been dominant. You just can't gift them 35-40 more seconds.

DJ gave them 30s by going out of bounds on that one play. Definitely mistakes out there, but we got the "W" and sent Kitchens and Crew for a long bus ride back to the mistake on the lake so I am feeling fine about it.

that was frustrating and Duck throwing the ball away on 3rd down before we had to punt. Take the sack, let the clock run. Those little things can be corrected, but they need to be aware to keep that clock rolling.

The refs should be embarrassed for not calling a roughing against Duck, but call it for Baker literally 2 plays later. Horrible! The NFL is ****!

Game ball to Duck / partial coaching / Washington / snell / small ball to Johnson & others, all of D.

One thing I saw was VERY different was Tomlin actually being engaged in the game. He gave out *** chewing to Johnson for quitting on interception, he gave the REFs an earful on several occasions but one time it was very bold and asserting to their **** up.

Coaching, specifically OC & ST took a while to get going. Why?

The officials were so bad you all are neglecting to mention some of their bullshit. The offsides penalty on Duck? WTF was that? Also, on one of the long passes to OBJ before the half, he committed blatant offensive pass interference that went uncalled.
 
I will say one little minor goat on our team. He has had a good season,but today was not his best. Berry had 2 great opportunities to pin them inside the 10 on crucial occasions,and ****** up both times.

Lol I forgot about the false start...one of the worst I've seen. I literally don't know how he could have moved less.
