This is the better late than never version.....as I had to goto work right as the game ended....so here we go! First off this might be the biggest win of the season for our Steelers vs the NFC Champs from last season. I'd be lying if I thought we'd end this night with a win vs the Rams & Aaron Donald. If you were ever wondering if the Steelers made the right move trading away our #1 Draft Pick in 2020 for Minkah Fitzpatrick wonder no more. The kid keeps playing like this he's going to be in contention for Defensive Player of the Year! What a great move trading for Fitzpatrick....he has really been the missing link on our Defense. Before he got here opposing QB's had a WBR of 131.8.....since Minkah has arrives 71.3. The Defense has really come together nicely....to hold a Rams team to 3 points offensively with all the weapons they have on their roster is almost unthinkable. Lets not forget Cooper Cupp was held without a catch tonight. Plenty of players stood out on Defense tonight but all around it was a great team effort and some ballsy coaching calls in the 4th QTR that made the difference in this one. They've got to find a replacement for Ryan Switzer back there on kickoffs & punts.....he just isn't fast, has no wiggle and can't bring a return for more than 5 yards on a kickoff or punt if his life depended on it. I'm not overly familiar with Tony Brooks-James he had a couple nice runs called back on Holding calls....damn he's fast.....maybe he can return punts & kickoffs. Our Steelers were able to overcome early turnovers in this one and come away with the win thanks for some great Defensive play. Onto Turd-Town and make no mistake about this Thursday game coming up.....It's Cleveland's Super Bowl this year & every year!

Injuries Per Tomlin Post Game:
Ryan Switzer - Back Injury being evaluated
Ola Adeniyi - Hip injury being evaluated

Game Balls:
Minkah Fitzpatrick - Fumble recovery for a TD & and game ending INT to seal the victory. Miami was so ****-all st00pid letting this kid walk. He's made all the difference in that Steelers Defense....gotta be in discussions for Defensive MVP of the Year.
Joe Haden - Going up against Cooper Cupp most of the game....5 passed Defensed and Cupp was held without a Reception after a 200+ yd game last week
TJ Watt - Imagine if Tuitt didn't get hurt.....TJ is killing it week in, week out despite the Double Teams
Javon Hargrave - 1 sack and 1 TFL....plus he was the guy who knocked the ball from Goff's hand and created the Fumble Minkah took to the house.....was getting good push all game
Cam Heyward - Cam is the leader of this Defense 1 sack, 1 TFL.....pretty quiet guy....just keeps getting good push up front....nice batted ball late in the game to force 4th down.
Mark Barron - 10 tackles leading the team in tackles for the game
James Washington - 6 rec 90 yds 1 TD.....little by little he's starting to show steady improvement and his route running is improving also
Mason Rudolph - 22 for 38 242 yds 1 TD....put together a nice game....really had 2 poor throws one to Juju that Ramsey almost picked off and one to McDonald that should have never been thrown....McDonald made a nice play to knock the ball away from the Defender.
Mike Tomlin - Gutsy playcalling on 4th & 2 going to Trey Edmunds for the 1st down.....kept the drive going putting us into FG to extend the lead to 5. As the first guy to take criticism...I've gotta give it to him this game.....WTG Coach T.

Game Goats:
Maurkick Pouncey - GAWD that horrible snap cost us 7 and put us in a hole early....luckily the team was able to overcome and get the Win

FU's:
Ryan Clark - FU Ryan Clark....at ESPN the day the Steelers traded for Minkah Fitzpatrick you trashed it as one of the worst moves the Steelers have made in recent years. This kid is a flat out baller......Defensive MVP of the Year Candidate!

Game Balls were obvious with Fitzpatrick, Haden, TJ, and Heyward (who is sneaky dominant, we forget how good this guy really is). Tomlin has done a very good job overall and today in particularly with a smart challenge and going for it on fourth down, loved the call.

Game Goats:
FOX TV commercials. I've never seen so many commercial breaks in my life. Keep the game in a three-hour time window.
The refs. WTF were these guys doing all day? Too many penalties. Too many late whistles on balls that should've been thrown dead. General sense of them being clueless all day.

Apparently Ryan Clark has changed his tune:

The eephis pitch by Pouncy was pretty bad. DD got whipped by DA on the safety, but DA has done that to a lot of guys. Overall, the offense looked a lot better today than the past. Seems like the game is slowing down a bit for MR; he woulda been close to 300 if not for a couple bad drops by receivers. Just keep getting better each week and the Offense may be okay at years end.

Defense is just ballin. Dupree and Watt are beasts on the edge and Cam up the middle. As you said, Gravedigger stepped up a bit today too. Can't say enough about Fitz and Joe H, but lets not forget Nelson. No splash plays from Nelson but he has quietly been solid all year.

And don't forget Hargrave, he was a baddog today too. And was that Haden's best game as a Steeler? Heyward, like you said, you forget just how dominant the guy is sometimes.

Definitely one of Haden's best games. The last play was a thing of beauty with Dupree providing the pressure, Haden on the tip, and Fitzpatrick with the pick. I want to say that's the second time that trio has been in on a huge interception this year.

Dude that Fox broadcast was one of the worst I've ever seen. First off, Chris Meyers or whatever his name is.. is terrible at his job. I usually don't say this about commentary but it sounded like he clearly wanted the Rams to get calls. I ended up muting the TV and syncing my TV with Steelers radio broadcast, it sounded beautiful.

Game balls to the entire defense.
Still trying to figure out what Switzer brings to the table.
Agree on the FU to the refs yet again. Ridiculous for a billion dollar organization to have 10 cent officials and a rule book so open to interpretation. For the life of me, I have no idea what the **** is and isn't pass interference.

FU to refs for a 2nd straight week a bullshit phantom pass interference call extended an opponent's final drive

How about the egregious miss when ******** donald straight up busted Rudolph in the head with his fist? How thag was not called, and Ola’s hug at the waste of thag ***** Lamar Jackson was a few weeks ago vs the rats was is absolutely beyond me. Donald skirts the ******* line ALL the time and I was hoping to see our line put him on his *** more than they did.

How about when he had Brooks-James and picked him up and slammed him down? That is always a penalty but not today for Donald.

I wish that was allowed in today’s NFL but we’ve gotten called for that in the past, so I expect the same for others.

I would say the vast majority of the team played very well. All the outstanding were listed. They have to do something with Switzer. You cannot have a designated fair catcher. Berry's punt at the end was ***. Some of the play calling was terrible. But the vast majority of this game was a well executed game plan with a very short staffed offense. Literally no run game.

Seena like star QB's are untouchable and backups are no big deal to mess with. Was Earl Thomas even fined for guving Rudolph a concussion with a blow to the head?

But tey didn't throw the flag on the end zone toss before that....That could have easily been called...

Game BALLS to Mike "Black & Gold Balls" Tomlin

When you have a guy come in on special teams and bobble the ball you quickly see why Switz is back there. As you can say they can't have a designated fair catcher obviously the coaches are saying something else. Enough turnovers without special teams throwing their hat into the pile. The offensive skill players should be doing extra jugs work in after practice. Catch the damn ball. Now onto the positive. Haden did more than have a good day he layed his body out there. That extra effort was beautiful to see but there was a lot of pretty to see on defense. Minka just makes the D significantly better. He is a nice piece to have to go along with Heyward,Watt,Nelson, and Haden. Nice to see Edmunds stick a hand in there as well not to forget Hargrave's contributions. I don't know how the season will end but this defense was a beautiful watch.

Agreed. One other play I remember he met our RB in the backfield. and picked him up and body-slammed him as another Rams defender hit him. Seen that called also for Unnecessary roughness also.

Throwing a FU flag on Chris Myers for being an incredible douche bag that was even annoying the normally docile mammals.

Moose Johnson & Dean Blanandino were having to explain the game to this doofus dipshit like he was a petulant, jilted, teenage girl who got stood up on prom night. He sounded like Tom Brady after any failed 3rd down attempt for cripes sake.

I would of almost felt sorry for him, if I had not been overwhelmed by the desire to punch him in the ******* face.

Edmunds gets a goat. He could have had two INTs or PDs and instead had a PI and what probably should have been another In the endzone. The guy has six PDs and one INT in 24 NFL games. His practice squad brother has more INTs this season. He is the weak link on defense and another disappointing high round defensive back.

I'm sure Ryan Clark is more than happy to be wrong about that. Sometimes. And that goes for many of us. The knee jerk reaction is often excessive.
Ryan is no nonsense,to the point and a genuine guy.
And a champion.

The defense gave up a fieldgoal. That's more than anyone can ask for. The offense gave up 9 points.

Yeah with Fitz in town, it seems Edmunds subpar play is even more evident. I wonder if Sean Davis is healthy if he wouldn't be a better pairing w Fitz. And they could rotate in Edmunds as a dime backer or something. Of course, we're splitting hairs here, as the D has been playing through the roof.

Still not ready to give Barron a game ball. This was probably his best game as a Steeler but that is saying very little because he has sucked. He may have made some tackles but nothing jumps out at me as a great or even good play. Perhaps I missed it.

And, even though he didn't get a sack, I'd give a game ball to Bud over Barron. Bud is an absolutely beast and disruptor in their. He and Watt form one hell of a tandem. The more I see those two play together the more I want them to do what they can to resign Bud. Heyward only has a couple years left. Hargrave didn't look any better than Alualu in there last night so he is not a priority to me this offseason.

Oh, and why no GOAT to Fichtner or whomever the dumbass is that called the play for Rudolph to drop 10+ yards into his endzone last week that resulted in a safety. And, then, did the same ******* thing this week from the 5? By the time Rudolph got done with his 7+ step drop, Donald and another defender were right there with him for the sack. Rudolph had no chance to scramble or dump the ball off. Those 2 play calls are beyond stupid. Even if Rudolph saw it coming and wanted to scramble to at least get the ball out of the endzone, he couldn't. He was so ******* far deep in the endzone last week and this week. Dumb! Dumb! Dumb!
