Tomlin is 1-8 when playing teams with a .200 or worse record on the road.

Just heard this on the radio on the drive home.

1-8.

****. I knew we had dropped a good many, but that kinda drives the point home, doesn't it?

Joe

Mike Tomlin and a sure-fire win against a ****** opponent walk into a bar ...

Bartender says, "Only one of you is getting blown today."

AND lost to the 1-8 Bucs at home this year which is not included in that stat.

Tomlin was beyond stupid today even playing James Harrison on offense twice today.

That means his win came in the fourth quarter at winless Jacksonville this year.

How the owners can be impressed with him is beyond me..................

As long as fans keep showing up Tomlin will unfortunately be our coach, the Rooney Rule is the only reason he was hired and now the only reason he stays employed.

I don't get it. I don't see how the team can get up for those big games, and then have these letdowns again and again. One would think that even a team with a complete idiot for a coach would want to reverse the trend on their own. Something is very off somehow.

We don't have enough Tomlin threads, so thank goodness for this one.

This was more a "can you effing believe that stat" than another pile on Tomlin thread. I think Cowher had the same issue of playing down to **** teams, so I think it's deeper than that.

Joe

No, this is all on the players. That's what the apologists will say. I'd buy that for a game, maybe 2. But this is a well established trend. That is all on the coach.

Tomlin's teams have a pattern of going from a win to overconfident and playing like **** vs inferior opponents. This is lack of leadership.

Said it before, this team is capable of beating a juggernaut but also of losing to a doormat. Hate this Jekyll and Hyde ****

****, what about next week? As bad as they play, I still think its a win. Comes from the top, attitude.

Salute the nation

No. I do not believe Cowher had the "same issue" when it came to this ****.

Did Cowher lose to bad teams? Yeah, but at anywhere remotely near, especially when being favored, the rate Tomlin has? I really don't think so.

Cowher had his share of bad losses, but any coach with a long tenure in one place will have them, including the likes of Belichick.

The problem is that this is a blatant pattern with Tomlin, one that many Steeler fans could see continuing with this game against the Jets, though many of them, including myself, were willing to ignore it because they scored 40+ points in consecutive games.

The truth is that Mike Tomlin is a joke of a coach. His chief rival in John Harbaugh obviously thinks so, reflecting view of any Steeler fan who has more than a quarter of a brain to think with.

Tomlin won't be fired, as he has one more year on his contract to "prove himself," but if he is given an extension after another non-playoff season next offseason, any self-respecting Steelers fan will need to boycott the franchise.

Yes, I don't think it was quite as bad, but I still remember far, far too many times bitching about some ******* scrub team kicking a winning field goal. I don't remember stats exactly, but I do remember that "are you ******* kidding me, against THESE guys" feeling way too often.

If you think it wasn't a problem with Cowher, that's fine too, it's not like I'm here to give a ****, what I DO give a **** about is that it's still going on, and I'd like for it not to be.

Joe

Agreed, seeing Harrison line up on offense had me scratching my head too!!!

I liked how in the press conference someone asked a question about this trend. I forget how it was worded exactly and Tomlin only said about the turnover margin over and over. Now there is no doubt the turnovers were key to the loss today, but it does not explain the other games. He just blatantly ignored / refused to acknowledge this team has trouble playing against bad teams. The first step in fixing a problem is admitting there is one..........

This is why the point spread was as tight as it was.

Even when we beat bad teams, we squeak by. And that's not just Jacksonville this year. Been happening since the Colts game in 2011

have no fear, coach cool shades and his mensa staff will have an extra day of preparation for a rookie QB, a rookie RB and a Titans team that isn't very good either.

You must spread some Reputation around ...

Tomlin's emotionless *** is what's amiss here (to some extent). If a player or unit played poorly, Cowher would be jawing at them with spit flying everywhere....he'd call them out right then and there so they get the message and go back out the next time and correct it immediately. Tomlin just hides behind his shades. He flat out sucks as a motivator and leader.

Yeah, the Titans have a winning percentage of .222.

That's above the line.

whewwwww .222 the Steelers might not play down as much Monday night.
