Steelers VS lolphins game thread

Watt is a beastly monster!! That was impressive. Juju and DJ's catches were sweet. Mason is past the injury and progressing nicely. It was a good day for a Monday.

****, Ben has had many games like that over the years. This years first game, most recently.

He isn't Ben; don't even try to make that compare.

Again - I give credit where credit due, he balled in second half. Hardly negates my first half frustration. Tell me, what changed? coaching or player?

He was crap the entire first half, not just the first five minutes. he had one play in the first aided by a busted coverage by the defense. BTW - that doesn't mean we fans don't want him to succeed so quit clutching your pearls. Seriously, get over it. In game knee jerk comments happen. I have been a huge MR supported since he was drafted but his first half was ****. I ask again - what changed? did the light suddenly go off or did the coaches take the reigns off? I think a bit of both. Guy finally started putting the ball in FRONT of his receivers instead of behind.
I think it is an inconsistent mechanics problem. Which in turn makes him inconsistent. The concussion might have factored in early as well. But he still has some work to do. Back to the lab!

You're a young QB coming off of concussion protocol and about to make your debut on Monday Night Football. Nerves and rust played a huge factor early in the game, certainly. What changed you ask? That dumb ******* coaching call of an all out blitz on a 3rd and 20 with a minute left to go in the half. Mason hit that wide open throw and all of the nerves were flushed away. Confidence was restored. That one moment changed the face of the game. There is a reason that coaches start out games with high percentage throws as a QB's confidence is everything.

Flores says he has no regrats about that play. none not a single letter

It says a lot about him, then. Men of character have accountability.

Pretty impressive for Mason and the team to right the ship and dominate the second half last night.

Now we just have to figure out who is going to run the ball from here on out....

Just so you know... Booger really likes the Miami head coach and not because he is apart of the Belicheat coaching tree.

Never said he was. Just because Ben has put together a HOF career, doesn’t mean he hasn’t had his share of **** games.

You are the one to make the comparison to Ben and still doing it. Whatever. Lets take a different tack - When Ben did have a bad game, tell me, was he criticized or given a cookie? I can tell you from what I saw over the years Ben got **** on quite a lot by fans.

@board: I swear some of y'all think a criticism of a player in game is some sort of slight to the gods. His first half was terrible. He was indecisive, floated passes, and threw behind receivers. Come up with whatever justification makes you feel better about it, but it won't change how bad he was in the first half last night. BTW - based on MR's comments after the game that he is pretty aware he was poor in the first half. He came out and balled the second half and I am very happy he did because I do not root for my team to lose...ever. Just because a fan criticizes a player's poor performance doesn't mean that said fan hates the team or the player. I sure as hell hope MR has a HoF career with the Steelers.

Glad he worked through the kinks and gained some confidence. I made a Duck Call when it looked like he was possibly under the influence of the concussion but I had no doubt we'd lose to the Fins. They can out Bungle the Bungles so they'd find a way to lose it, if all else failed. Back to MR, the kid made Kordell look like second coming of Joe Montana for a little while there. If he had thrown another INT, we might have seen The Duck. Again I'm glad he worked it out and am looking forward to watching the kid progress from week to week. I think he's got good talent and grateful he's able to play again after getting knocked out.

yo know, this is the first time in a long time that we've really had a QB "controversy" . Takes me back to the Kordell days. Frustrating and entertaining at the same time.

All true except I believe he started the Bungles MNF game
