They need to get him the ball more...7 catches for 128 on Monday....Book it now

E'ryone knows I've been on his bandwagon from the day he was drafted. And I ain't getting off yet!

Personally, I want him confident; I just don't want him to get the 'big head' and turn into "Big Chest 2.0".

Berm, lets all hope Cool Shades learned something from the Big Chest meltdown. Maybe if he hadn't overlooked so much of the nonsense associated with Big Chest early on, he could have been easier to handle.

I just have to say how irritated I am with the success of the Steelers defense this season.

(I know. You're saying "What?" "That doesn't make a shred of sense, Wig.")

How is it, that in the shadow of losing Roethlisberger for the year, as well as beginning life after Brown, the Steelers have suddenly placed a HUGE premium on the defensive side of the ball, seemingly overnight turning the defensive team into a viable force to be reckoned with. Sure, the previous five or six years the defense was scrambled *** on toast, but suddenly NOW they've gelled and their competing as well as any D in the league.

WERE THE **** WAS THAT URGENCY ON THE DEFENSIVE SIDE OF THE BALL WHEN THE OFFENSE WAS IMPRESSIVE?

Just an example of how one aspect of the team is utterly ignored to the benefit of the other side and then the coaching staff sits wide eyed and confused about how they can't win a frickin' playoff game to save their souls.

I am with you with the end result but it isn't like they were ignoring the defense. how many 1st and 2nd picks have we spent on the defense side of the ball? I have lost count.

Statistically speaking this defense isn't as good as the 2017-2018 defense. It's right there with last year's defense. The only difference is the turnovers. It reminds me of the bungles defense a few years ago. They got tons of Ints. But the base defense wasn't that good.

Here is a weird stat. Pittsburgh is 2nd in the league in fumbles recovered. But it's 22nd in the league in forced fumbles. Which means the other team is just giving them the ball. They aren't forcing the fumbles they are just happening. They are also 15th in points allow per game.

I didn't know but this post helps me to know.

I highly doubt you'll see another big chest clone as I've heard that was a once in a lifetime talent........ Errrr creep.

Johnson is getting the best opertunity as a rookie and I think he is capitalizing on it.

he's looked good so far. the only criticism is he's alligator armed a few over the middle.

Well draft picks were invested in D but some failed and it took longer than it should, then you have a pretty great O with a regular D and tragedy hits shazier, Bell gets stupid and then AB gets batshit crazy. Finally we get a fine D and injury adds to insult with Ben going down.

We've been kind of doomed from a few years back , add Tomlin to all of that and here we are

That one-handed catch on that bullshit OPI call was a thing of beauty (and tremendous concentration).

That play stuck with me. We had at least 10 other plays or more the Miami corners mugged, pulled and impeded our wideouts down the field.

So the fact the refs have the power to now flag just about any pass play on either side REALLY bugs me.

The refs need to be much less part of this game. It's past ridiculous. Call everything all the time or remove the rule.

Dude is already looking like he is going to be special. He is easily our No. 2 now and by the end of this season and especially next season, he and JuJu are going to be a very formidable 1-2 punch at WR. Washington is struggling for some reason. Even Moncrief looks better. He had a very nice catch in our last game and he made a nice catch last night (keeping his focus on the ball) but Rudolph led him too far out of bounds with no chance to get his feet in. Seems he is catching the ball now, which is good but I still think they are going to cut him by week ten unless Washington continues to do nothing. We need a No. 3 WR and right now we have no one. They refuse to put Switzer in even though Ben loved throwing to him.

Switz is running in quicksand and fears grass blades, ONLY difference between him and Dri Archer is the number of pages dedicated to him in a thread.

And that surprises me. With limited time to get acclimated to the team last year, he played pretty well. He came to camp in better shape and faster. Ben had a lot of high praise for him and what they could do this year. I thought Switz was looking at a 50 catch season for us until Ben went down. Now, he doesn't get any snaps other than special teams. Things may change though as Washington seems to be really struggling to get open and he got lucky on the interception that was called back. That was all on him. The ball bounced off both his hands and he wasn't even being hit by anyone. Should have been an easy catch.

Switzers issues indicate to me that he and Ben had a good vibe together about when and where to get the ball to him. Without that chemistry and timing, I have to sadly admit that Switz is truly struggling and not much of an asset right now.

Unfortunately, until Rudolph really gets comfortable with his situation and role, not much of anybody is really shining in the offense. (Yes, Johnson made a great play on a busted defense, but other than that, not too many opportunities for the receivers to do much. JuJu's TD was essentially a miracle. And I can understand the receivers being a bit off when they have no idea whether the ball will be thrown TO them or short of them or long... Makes it hard to focus on your route, your footwork, your hands when you have no real idea where the ball is going to be.

I believe Rudolph will continue to improve. I mean, look at how tentative and generally mediocre he's played and he STILL manages to put up an average of 2 TDs a game. The kid is a baller. He just needs to chill out and stop thinking "My God, this is the BEST DREAM EVER!"

Instead of Mr. Big Chest 2.0, I would prefer Mr. Big Brain 1.0.

I must say Johnson is a quick one who runs nice routes. Not very physical though.

He's a small guy with a small frame. JuJu and now Washington are physical enough for this group. Loved seeing Washington pancake that #40 a couple times.

It will only get worse as more rules are put in place to counteract rules already in place. The outcome of the game is increasingly being placed in the hands of the subjective refs and the New York City league office.

Is it me, or were the Steelers called for holding about a thousand times and Miami not once, that I can remember?

Oh,back to the original post, DJ appears that he could be special.

What was offensive PI or what is defensive holding or interference could not be answered in the Monday Night game. Two plays in a row one called next nothing shows the total inconsistent officiating of games.
