love his running style, think him and conner could be a great 1-2 power combo.

Definately a TEAM player all the way around, need I remind of what we use to have in that regards. I know no one is anointing him the all cure all but his arrow is pointing up and that's fine by me.

His attitude and fire on the field Sunday was fun to watch.

Ya I like Benny and like his attitude and energy he brings. Would love to see more of Benny rather than goofy running the wheels off of James.

I know Coach doesn’t think much of Benny, something about his head being too big. Hmm! Now where did we all hear that before?

I think he is what most people thought he would be - a tough mudder so to speak. Not sure he has the jetpack to out accelerate anyone, but if he runs people over instead, I am okay with that.

But I will say, didn't like the throat-slashing gesture he made. C'mon Benny, knock that **** off. You're a rookie trying to make your mark, focus on your craft and not so much the theatrics. And that could have cost them a penalty.

arrow points up for this man

Why did we take him out late in the LA game, at the goal line, only to see the fumbler Connor get stuffed 3 times?

I thought that is why we had him.

I think in the off-season he will have a chance to NFL transform into a more complete back. Never a burner but if he can move the chains and wear defenses down consistently he will be well worth the pick.

As much as Snell may have future greatness in him, you just can't keep Samuels off the field. When he is healthy, he can run and he is, by far, our best receiver out of the backfield followed by Conner. I just can't see trying to utilize 3 RB's. If you split carries/touches between the three and no one gets in any rhythm. It rarely works. 2 backs, sure but 3 is very difficult to work into a game plan and be effective.

With three backs with different skills you start Conner, then you play Snell against strong pass defending teams. And Jsam against weak pass defending teams (more).

Run them over! Only a fraction of the league want to actually tackle. They certainly don't want to be pounded late in a game. If the Steelers stand any chance this year they will have to run to set up passing. It will open up the passing game and take pressure off of the qb.

It's certainly a mentality the OL will have to embrace.

STATS, play a very important role in the NFL. Unfortunately or fortunately they were trying to get Conner a TD.

what if you in some sets line up Sanuals as a te the way the pats used to with hernandez

Hernandez had better blocking skills, putting Samuels there is telling the opposing D that we are passing

That's my thinking, we saw that happen with Bell, with Connor, and with Samuels. One off-season of full training in the NFL helps to remove unnecessary body fat, and he should could come into next year having lost some weight but gaining muscle

Don't think that is his strength. Soap on a rope was a true TE well in one aspect, Jsam is more of a pass catching RB. You play to your players strengths to maximize production.

Snell is good when he has a hole big enough that some guys on this forum can run through. He can fight for more yardage once he gets though the hole, but come on guys, the Our OL and a tired SD defense were factors.

If Snell can do this in multiple games, then I'll change my mind.

Who listens to Coach?

Coach has his opinion. Mine is based in some part on Benny Snell’s heritage. His great uncle Matt Snell along with Joe Willie Namath ( I was born in Beaver Falls in1951) dominated the “vaunted Baltimore Colts” in SB 2.

Take some time to watch a rerun of it and you will see what Matt Snell did.

When I heard the Steelers got Benny Snell I was pleased. Tough runner who will help us slug it out in the running game.
