Not Saying we must win out. Simple formula. Win remaining division games and win remaining home games. We can do better than that but I think that wins the division.

This would require outside help. The Browns and Ravens need to lose their games against top ten teams.

Whole division is awful. 9-7 might win it.

So we need to win at Baltimore, sweep the Browns and win home games against the Rams (3-3), Colts (3-2), and Bills (4-1) with our second and third stringers at key positions like QB, RB, DL, and secondary. Admire your confidence but ain't happening.

We aren't mathematically out of it but even with our win this week, we are a very long shot to make it. We would definitely have to win out in the division, that is a must. I just can't see us doing it as beat up as we are. It seems like we lose a starter almost every week. This is just one of those years. If we were able to hit 8-8, there will be a ton of people calling for Tomlin as coach of the year and I might be one of them - as much as that would pain me as I think we need a fresh start at head coach.

Yep, and re: Baltimore, I just still don't believe in Lamar Jackson - but the rest of the team may be good enough to stay in contention.

I agree, but Baltimore seems to get better at the season goes on.

Baltimore has a VERY TOUGH next four games. They barely beat the Bengals last week, but here's what they face:

1. Seahawks
2. *'s
3. Bengals
4. Texans

They could very well lose 3 out of the 4...

We have:

1. Dolphins
2. Colts
3. Rams
4. Browns

Optimistically, I think we go 3-1, losing to the Colts; but you know I'm a homer - 4-0, baby!!! Up by a game after the next 4 weeks!!!

The only reason they have a chance at 8-8 is because of this joke of a schedule. Miami, Bills, bungles twice, clowns twice, Jets, SD, and the rats have a RB at QB. Any other year this team loses 10 just because of the schedule. Luckily they don't play a 1st place schedule this year. Miami is actively trying to lose games. The bungles may not be but they might as well. There are also something like 8 new HCs this year. 2 of them in our division. No reason they can't win 8 games.

Must I remind you eternal optimists of two very important factors here.

A) We still have Mike Tomlin and his merry band of pretend coaches.
B) Our injuries are really stacking up.
C) We have two greenhorns as our QB's.
D) Not much in the receiving corp other than Ju Ju who is having his issues and the rookie D.Johnson who is still adjusting.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade boys but don't get to confidant here with lots of issues. If we win 8 or 9 games thats a hell of a successful season for us considering the injuries.

Dudes! Focus on what matter.

10 games left and we know from experience that Tomlin will absolutely, without any doubt whatsoever win 6 of them. I think it is utterly "universal truth" impossible for him to not go at least 8-8.

How is it possible that no one has referenced Jim Mora in this thread yet?

We're a bunch of delusional dumbasses?

Tomlin will have his “first losing season “ but let the “obvious “ excuses will spin his reputation into a positive?

I'm not sure it's possible with this schedule to lose more than 8 games. The bungles, clowns (2), Miami, and the Jets are just horrible. That's 7 wins right there. Then you've got the Colts and Rams at home. The Rams are a turnover machine. They are averaging over 2 TOs a game. They face one good QB the rest of the way and that's the Bills. And they get them at Heinz field. This is a cup cake schedule and even with a backup QB shouldn't be a problem to win 8 games. Hell they are playing against QBs that should be backing up instead of starting.

True beans but our steelers have been known to do that as well. I see us currently trending upwards. Today, I'd say we win the division.

You all keep forgetting that a Tomlin-coached team always loses a game they should have won. The ceiling for this team is 7 wins.

I love your optimism. A long shot to happen, but nothing wrong with a little positive thinking!
