1. The team like Hodges better than Mason because everyone played harder when Hodges played

2. Hodges reads the defense before the snap of the ball, something Mason doesn't do, and something Ben doesn't do that much.

3. Injured Ben has more of a say in what plays are run on offense than Tomlin himself, like the pass by Samuels, that was more likely Ben's call than Tomlins (this one came from the actual host of the show)

4. Why wasn't Ben in LA, he should be there helping Hodges, Ben doesn't like him.

5. Hodges plays like Tom Brady.

Lol if you listen to that stuff too much, it will rot your brain

Ben wasn't at the game because he was meeting with Arthur Blank in Atlanta finalizing the upcoming blockbuster trade

Ben and Tomlin to the Falcons for their whole 2020 draft

Pit the Falcons against the Redskins for an all out bidding war... get six picks... all first and second rounders... proceed to use them all on linebackers lol

Ha ha every single point is idiotic. Ben is the king of the pre snap read. He changes the play all the time. His problem is that he is always greedy and rarely takes that dump after the receiver rub to the running back. And Ben wasn't in LA because they do't allow players with surgery to fly for fear of blood clots. But **** they said that on the broadcast. Radio guys have to fill up so much useless airtime. I really appreciated Hodges effort and poise last night. Might even go to the airport tonight and see if me and the boy can meet him. But C'mon here.
Oh and if effort is the issue that would be reason number one to fire Tomlin. That should be his only strength.

I’m baffled why local radio wants to keep taking about the Pirates and how two of their former pitchers are doing well in the playoffs. **** the Pirates with DIC’s red hot poker.

Yeah Ben has always preferred the home run, and when you swing for the stands you strike out often. He got better under Haley as Haley basically forced him to take the checkdown, and it's probably why he didn't like Haley that much as he wanted to sling it. Ben is definitely good at reading defenses, he uses his eyes and pump fakes to move the defense around, QBs only can do that when their pre snap read tells them where a S/LB will be in coverage. Media just hates Ben, it's whatever he's a HOF'er

Oh yeah, that's a hot topic as well.

Maybe Coach Cool Shades will take Durpee along with.

Fact is, Dupree's been having a career year and has been playing great this whole season, both against the run and rushing the QB. Surely that's painful for the Bud haters to stomach, but it's true. He's no Jarvis Jones, not even close.

Because these ******* had NO REASON to give up on Glasnow & Meadows....Grooming them for 3 years and then sell them off. Meadows was practically a throw in to the deal...Asswipes....

Why the HELL won't they let Mark Cuban buy the Pirates???

Bud had a great first half and then, like the rest of the defense, he just sorta disappeared in the 2nd half.

(Ok, the DBs had a pretty good 2nd half. They gave up some catches, but when it mattered, they balled out.)

Not sure how you came to that conclusion but I’d like to hear it

Not buying what the dude is saying about Ben. And, Hodges does not play like Brady. No comparison there.

It always gives me a good laugh though, the idiot show host that says Ben has more input in the playcalling than Tomlin, eventhough Ben is hurt and not at away games, is Chris Mueller, a total tool from Cleveland, not sure why The Fan ever hired such a moron, he can't stand Ben. I always turn that show off.

Slow learner plus injuries plus lack of killer instinct. He is who he is and that is being worth of the tag this season at least.

I wouldn't give him a long term contract though. Rather roll the dice with Ola and a 3rd round rookie next season, use the saved money to keep Hargrave

I'm shocked more radio shows etc. haven't been calling for Ben to retire and pass the reins over to the "more than adequate" Rudolph & Hodges...

It's a matter of time...

Sorry Ron, I can't ;oan it out for this occasion. I like the Pirates but also you must realize I'm not local, YES LOCO, so I don't get to witness the disappointment as some of you do.

NOW if you had a cheatriot issue, I'd deliver it personally, all three sizes.............................

Tom, you don't need talk radio, when you have SN. No need to look elsewhere for all your Steelers news and car repair advice.

or Bacon cooker manufacturing for all your cooking needs...................................

Because Nutting is making a killing in profit. He doesn’t have to sell unless he is forced to and the only way he would be forced to if he was found to be negligent with SEA dollars funded by taxpayers. The only way that is happening is if the SEA or Mayor requests venue to open up the Pirates books for review. Something Nutting won’t do.

Only hope out there is what happened to the Brewers, city council request a financial audit of Milwaukee taxpayer dollars used by Bud Selig (family) for team purposes. When it got to be too much of a hassle for the family having their books investigated they sold the club.

Plus Cuban asked to buy and was declined, as did Mario Lemieux.

Pretty simple as before Haley Ben was always looking for the mid to deep passes consistently, after Haley was hired Ben got better at taking checkdowns and throwing underneath with shorter passes when they were open, because with Arians he was getting killed with sacks looking deep, after Haley he's become more well rounded in finding the open option regardless of depth of route. Is that better for you?

anyone talks about the Pirates and I turn the station. I'd rather listen to anything but Pirate talk in Oct.

I don't listen to Pirates talk (or the games) in the season. Too much Pirates and I change the station.

Why the HELL won't they let Mark Cuban buy the Pirates???

Because Bob Nutting knows he will make more money over time by keeping the team than he will make by selling it for one shot. It's like winning the lottery. You can take one big payout or collect somewhat less each year for 20 years which adds up to about twice as much money. Most people are stupid and take the one-time payout. Bob Nutting is a lot of things, but stupid isn't one of them.
