What does Hodges need to do to keep the job for another week?

Ike, I hear yaz. Those who say billicheat is the greatest coach ever have no sense of cheating. How can one be the greatest ever if they are FACTUAL cheaters????? Just astounds me as to that pedestal. t*mmyb*y as well.

Salute the nation

Shame on the team if they suit up Rudolph this week. Let the guy get the extra 2 weeks for his cranium to rest. No reason to suit him up after taking that hit and a bye week following

Hodges looked good in his limited play mainly because his interception was called back.

He is a first year QB who is only a shade over 6 foot tall... he will have bad reads and bad throws bit good ones too... think of how horrid Peyton was his first season... a rookie qb is rarely like Ben was... you don’t read too much into the bad plays unless they remain habitual after a couple years... making ANY judgment about him based on his next few games, good or bad, is a mistake...

Bruno Sammartino isn't alive anymore either. Passed away last year. Just sayin'.

Ron you are right. I forgot.

SO I'll amend it to say we need "heavenly help" from Ringside Rosie, Myron AND Bruno!:becky:

To me it seems that we have officially entered the "preparing for life after Ben" era. IMO when you are in a transitional state such as this looking for your next Franchise QB you can never have too many options. I hope we have the next guy on the roster now. We knew it wasn't Landry Jones and Dobbs didn't look like it either but I feel pretty good about the skill level and smarts Mason and Duck have shown thus far. I don't care which one it turns out to be, I just hope it is one of them so letting them both get some playing time in what appears to be a "rebuilding" year of sorts is ok by me. Lets shake it up and see who emerges.

Mason practiced, so if he continues to improve there's a good chance he plays

We don't know what Hodges is, he did throw the 1 floater, but other than that he looked better than Rudolph as far as the eye test is concerned. Rudolph IMO is not the next franchise QB, looks more backup level. Not that Hodges is the next franchise QB, but he looked much more poised and confident in the pocket. Rudolph looks like a deer in headlights, has won 1 game this year, Hodges was driving down the field to win until Ju Ju fumbled.

I think with the hopes of a winning season almost out the door, people tend to get excited about these scenarios. Hodges lighting it up, going from longshot undrafted FA to star QB is the win people look for now. But Mason making it back sooner rather than later is good too.

I have seen Rudolph’s NFL ceiling and is rather low. He’s a solid backup type no more. Better than Landry Jones. Not as good as Charlie Batch is what I see v

Hodges has a higher NFL ceiling. I’d much rather see if he can fill it My hunch is the wide receivers would much rather play with Duck.

You've come to this conclusion after a whopping 4 NFL starts for Rudolph and 9 pass attempts for Hodges? Good thing you weren't evaluating Peyton Manning during his rookie year, you probably would've cut him.

Ok, enough is enough. If you want to feel like you're an NFL QB guru, and can tell one player is "way better" in barely a quarters worth of play time (when the other team prepped to play the other QB), but it's another thing to completely make **** up.

Hodges was not driving down the field to win the game. The drive was TWO PLAYS. A James conner run, and the pass to Juju. THAT'S IT! TWO PLAYS!

Yes. Rudy doesn't have the arm, and plays it too safe. He's not a runner. What do you expect to change in his NFL Game? What part of his game can you build a passing attack around? Do tell. I don't think you can. He's not playing Big 12 defenses anymore.

Peyton Manning always had the arm, he was just a rookie on a team that won 1 game the year before so nice try. No I would not have cut Manning. Rudy has a winning team around him, we just can't win with him unless we are playing a really bad team. Well he's got a dunce for a head coach, but that is another topic.

I've seen more hope of out Hodges, and he's a rookie who barley got a chance to practice. If we are having a losing season, I want to see both QB's play, not just one who's below par and lacks the starter traits to be the future. How come I can see NFL rookie, and 2nd years QB's that are doing better than Rudy? Rudy just doesn't pass for many yards, now does he? Nope! I'm not saying Hodges will be the future, but I think he brings more raw tools to the table in terms of accuracy, locating the receiver, spreading the football around and running with it.

I guess you forgot the long run by Hodges in that drive, so that make it THREE plays. It wasn't just passes, it was how he scanned the field, and found the open man in stride. I think a point that is dividing the board is some already see the Rudolph is not the future starter. Let's see if Hodges can do better. Winning a road game on the west coast would be a sign he is.

Last year on college Hodges in just 11 games played threw for 32 touchdowns, ran fo 8 touchdowns, completed 70.5% of his passes, and amassed 4.283 yards in the air and ran for 313 on the ground.

Go ahead, say his competition sucks. I agree in a macro sense, HOWEVER he played two SEC teams.

1 ) Georgia in 2017 and finished the game 26-35 for 227 yards, 2 td's, 0 Interceptions with no one offensive player on his team being good enough to be a primary back up on Gerioga's offense.

2 ) The year before they played Mississippi State. Okay, a weaker SEC team. How did he do? Try over 500 total yards, and 4 TD passes in a losing effort.

I think some aren't aware of that. Your thoughts now are?

You're an idiot. Juju fumbled on our only drive in overtime. That was TWO plays. The run he had was in regulation.

And I guess you missed the play that Mason made when he got knocked out. Scrambled our of trouble, running to his right, throwing against his body, a perfect strike to Washington...

Oh that's right, you don't watch games...so tell us again how you SEE more in hodges? Idiot
