At 1-4, minds can wander thinking about next year. Low and behold. The Redskins are reported to be interested in Tomlin. Freaken A!

My fantasy offseason.

Tomlin is traded to the Redskins for their 2nd, and 3rd round pick and Ben comes back healthy!

Steelers hire Stephen Belicheck, son of you know who is essentially the top coach on the defense in 2019 with 8 years of coaching experience. While this move is a bit of a gamble, he has the bloodlines and Bill's tutoring an insight. At age 32, Stephen fits the mold of a younger coach who understands defense. Adios Mr. Butler.

Draft: Using Walter football to see where players might fall in round two

Round 2 ( Redksins projected 33-36overall pick ) WR Tee Higgins, a big play machine. I think he's round one guy, unless he works out poorly.

Round 2 ( Steelers projected 40-43 overall pick ) RB JK Dobbins. Conner is a great story, but he doesn't look like the same back and has fumble issues.

Round 3 ( Redskins ) NT/DT Nevlin Gilmore, Makes a lot of plays and looks to have anchor ability.

Round 3 comp pick BPA Edge rusher.

This thread made me want to throw my phone.

Trade Tomlin to the Redskins for a first and second.
Hire Lincoln Riley.
Get Big Ben healthy and back in the lineup.
Cut Moncrief and Barron.
Sign Hargrave and Hilton to new deals.
Extend some of our young playmakers.
Draft Chase Young or Andrew Thomas with the pick acquired from the Redskins.
Pick up the top available WR and G in the second round.

Belicheat's bloodline ha no thank you. He wouldn't have Ernie to help his coaching resume. I am down with a trade but I think fans might be reving themselves up and in the end a HC remains.

If we only got a 2nd and 3rd for Tomlin, I'd shoot the front office. At minimum, we should get at least one 1st rounder.

I think most here would be happy if Tomlin was fired. Getting anything for him is gravy! I'd cheer if he was traded for a long snapper and a tackling dummy . Good riddance.

List your perfect off season.

Tomlin gets a fully-guaranteed 10-year extension, making him the highest paid coach in the league. Colbert retires, the Rooneys promote Tomlin to HC/GM with full control of the organization. Tomlin fires entire coaching staff and brings in a new, competent crew to work with.

The rest is all icing on the cake, as we'll be locked and loaded for the next decade.

We’re in week six and why are you already talking about the off season here Coach? I see, you’ve thrown in the towel. I want to see how the season plays out first.

I want Tomlin gone preferably for draft picks. Along with Tomlin they can have Butler and Fitchner as well. Someone mentioned the Iowa coach i wouldn't mind seeing him as DC. S. Bellichek would be an interesting coach choice, but i can't see that happening. We definitely need an Xs and Os coach. I would look at SF defensive coaches or Bears defensive coaches and for OC someone more old school that will instill more toughness instead of the gimmicky crap we use.

we trade tomlin for a 1st or 2nd and 3rd to Washington Butler is named intern off season depending who gets fired we look at
Rex Ryan
Mike McCarthy not because Pitt ties but because of offensive knowledge to develop Mason
best available DC young mind.
Colbert is replaced by Cohwer as GM and pres

ben is back, Foster is either cut or replaced by Finney
we add a legit #2 like a Diggs or a decent 6"3 Wr someone in the Sanu or AJ mold.

Butler?

oh, good god. that'd be even worse.

Rooney sells the team to an owner who wants to win and will not accept mediocrity. The rest will take care of itself.

Let's see, the perfect off season..........

I'd be 20 years younger with no health conditions.
A place on the beach and financially secure.
That girl from high school, yes she's still hot.

Oh, if you were referring to the Steelers, post again sometime in late January.

Love this Zona! I could not agree more with you.

******* Coach already looking at the off season four months from now. Unbelievable!

This is what I think/hope will happen.

Because we don't have a 1st round pick, no Tomlin magic occurs to get this team to 8-8 (like they are trying so hard to do) and they finish 4-12. Our top-5 pick vanishes for a player with (now) one year left on his rookie deal and looking for a huge payday. At least we get a top end pick in the 2nd round.

Roethlisberger retires.

The Tomlin to Washington rumors kick into high gear and Snyder offers a third rounder in 2020 and a 1st rounder in 2021. We take it.

Colbert retires.

After an extensive search we hire a GM and a coach in separate rolls. I suspect McCarthy is high on the list after selling Rooney on the idea he can turn Mason Rudolph in an MVP.

McCarthy and the new GM turnover the entire roster. Approximately 15-20 new faces are on the opening day roster from 2019 vs. 2020. Mason Rudolph is our starter with the full backing of the new coach/GM but also with the knowledge we have Washington's 1st round and our 1st rounder in 2021 to play with if we decide Rudolph isn't the man.

Things move forward in a rebuild. Hopefully we find some talent. Hopefully the drafts work out. Rudolph or the 2021 rookie is the real deal and we can ride a young QB into an era of winning. We end up being an exciting young team vying for playoffs as soon as 2021-2025

Tom Brady’s trainer rats him out as being on some new untraceable PEDs and he has to retire.

if we're playing purely hypotheticals...

1. We negotiate a trade with Washington. We get their 1st this year and 3rd next year for Tomlin.
2. We hire Pete Carmichael from New Orleans as HC.
3. Pete Carmichael hires away Robert Sahleh from the 49ers to be the Defensive Coordinator
4. We trade Burns to Minnesota along with our 3rd next year for Stephon Diggs
5. Durpee leaves for greener pastures
6. Washington's 1st round pick is the #2 overall. With that, we take Jerry Jeudy, Trevor Lawrence or Chase Young
7. With our 2nd round pick, we take Jonathan Taylor

Boom. Team fixed.

Why stop at only one first round pick if we are playing hypotheticals? We get Washington's next 10 first round picks. The rest...Meh. doesnt matter after we pull of the trade of the century with Tomlin.
