Gotta be no. 2 now. Maybe for a while ... I don't expect MR to pass concussion protocol any time soon. Any word on PL coming up and getting some reps with #1 offense? Who's got the story??

Ugh...I dont even want to think about that guy getting a hat on game days

Lynch was pretty damn good in college. Must have shown Elway something for him to be a 1st round pick. I’m not sure why Lynch didn’t pan out in Denver. Seems he has the prototypical NFL QB size and has a good arm. Seems his mechanics led to accuracy issues, as he didn’t seem to have an issue reading a defense. If his mechanics are the issue, that can be fixed.

Unless he’s a Todd Marinovich typetard

If Lynch comes up off PS who gets sent down?

Looking at it with Barron and McDonald being hurt I am thinking Switzer might get the ax. Johnson and holton can take over return duties. Jay Elliott is the other possibility but that depends on Chicks health.

If he has any holes in his game, what makes you think these coaches can fix any of that?

elway has proven himself to be a retard when it comes to drafting in general, and especially when it comes to picking quarterbacks, peyton manning notwithstanding (my dead great-grandmother could've picked peyton manning to sign to a contract)

Elway Brought in Osweiler and Lynch. Both 6'7. I guess Elway is a size queen.

U guys need to learn to think out of the box

We trade our 2nd to the Jags and get Josh Dobbs back, QB problem solved for playoff run

I'm still waiting to see what Holton does on this team exactly. He should get the boot if it comes to that

I would get rid of this guy first.

Holton is worthless same as Switzer. Take your pick, and they better decide on Moncrief as well pretty soon or we probably lose the 3'rd comp pick for Bell too.Three worthless players that contribute zero to this team.

God help us if Lynch is behind center. I'm 100% more optimistic with Duck under center. He is Baker light. Well, without the overall #1 pick, savior status.

I’ll tell you this much about Duck. I know it was at Samford but still, some pretty damn impressive numbers he put up in the air and on the ground.
That small school stuff doesn’t scare me one bit. Hell, Ben played at Miami of Ohio, and Steve McNair played in the same conference as a Duck.
Ben raved about this kid all summer and I think he may give us the spark we need until Mason returns. And imo Mason has not played bad at all. I’m encouraged by what I’ve seen of him.

His problem is not the physical side. It took Lynch three years to figure out the college game in the AAC. If he was given the opportunity to learn in the same system for 3-5 years he would be fine but who the hell does that with a first rounder?

Actually he's not.
He's under contract with the XFL.

it did? he started as a redshirt freshman.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paxton_Lynch
After redshirting for his freshman year at Memphis in 2012, Lynch was named the Tigers' starting quarterback prior to the 2013 season.[6][7] He started all 12 games, completing 203 of 349 passes for 2,056 yards, nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions.[8] As a sophomore in 2014, Lynch started all 13 games. He completed 259 of 413 attempts for 3,031 yards, 22 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 321 yards and 13 touchdowns.[9][10][11] Lynch was named the MVP of the 2014 Miami Beach Bowl after passing for 306 yards with four passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns.[12] As a junior in 2015, Lynch again started all 13 games. He completed 296 of 443 passes (66.8%) for 3,778 yards, 28 touchdowns (all five school records)[13][14] and four interceptions. In Memphis' 63–0 victory over SMU, Lynch tied an FBS record with seven passing touchdowns in a half. He finished 9 of 14 for 222 yards, and completed his touchdown throws to seven different receivers.[15][16] After the season, he decided to forgo his senior year and enter the 2016 NFL Draft.[17] Lynch graduated from Memphis in May 2016 with a B.S.E. in sport and leisure management.[1]

Lynch's 35 touchdowns responsible for in 2014 and 30 in 2015 are first and second in Memphis history, and his 76 for his career is second all-time. He also ranks first and second for most total offense in a season (4,015 yards in 2015; 3,352 in 2014).[18] He has four of the seven most passing yards in a game, including the school record 447 on October 23, 2015 at Tulsa.[19] He ranks second all-time in career attempts, completions, completion percentage, passing yards, and passing touchdowns.[14]

Memphis football had always been average at best. His redshirt freshman year, they averaged 19 points per game and won just three games. Sophomore year, they won 10 games and their avg per game was 36. Better talent stuck to the roster, for sure.

and I'm not saying Lynch is a savior of any sorts. Just wondering if maybe his mechanics can be corrected to fix his accuracy issues. No, not stating at all that THIS coaching staff can do that.

I dont know why everyone is down on switzer and wants him gone, he does a damn fine job!! Running sideline to sideline, not everyone can do that like he does.

Lynch wasn't used properly in Denver - they tried him as QB

When he started, I just happy we had someone who could safely field the ball. Ready to take the next step now and find someone who can do that and return it a little.
