Jay Gruden out in Washington

For all those who worry about our next HC if Cool Shudders is gone, I say this.
OMG, who are we going to get if Noll retires or if Cowher leaves?
Trust me, plenty of young, innovative assistant coaches out there for you Artie. No more Rooney Rule please. Hire the best you can find.

I been done with this schtick since the unleash hell moment god knows how long ago.

There has literally been WTF moments with this coaching staff and players, which, IMO points back to coaching, damn near every single game, every single year since the Superbowl loss in 2010, which had WTF moments that contributed to that loss. Slow starts to the season, barely making the playoffs, missing the playoffs, now they are 3-11 since the Denver game last year and going to miss the playoffs again?!?! Come on....

that's just it, isn't it. For all who want Tomlin fired immediately, who is the interim coach. No, this isn't a question of what young innovator is out there. Those guys are very unlikely to leave their current team until season end. So, fine, hire the best guy then. Who do you have as interim? Fitch? Butler? Sherman? I am not sure I want the locker room drama associated with all that either. Right now, to me, the correct course is to do everything you can to keep the team together in the locker room right now. At the same time, start assembling a list of candidates and doing your homework (assuming that isn't already under way).

Yep, that’s why I mentioned that it was too bad Munch isn’t still here to make the transition smooth if that were to happen. No, there is no one on staff I would want as my interim coach.
My thoughts are to try and work out a deal for Cool Shudders to go to Wash. at seasons end. He’s signed for two more years so if we can possibly pick up their no one or even no two, that gives us two early second round picks. But, it won’t happen.

Gruden did a great job in Wash. He actually got that team to the playoffs. They have no talent. He was smart enough not to give Cousins a huge contract.

their LT Trent Williams is holding out. Guice got injured twice so they have no run game.

This makes me wonder if Gruden wanted Haskins. Maybe he was picked over his objections. Haskins doesn’t fit the west coast QB mold.

This has been reported on over the last few days to be the likely case.

We need a 1st rd pick, they need a head coach....what are we waiting for???

Get his bags packed already

Trade Tomlin to the skins. I know it will never happen but “what if?” I really believe it would be a win win for both teams. Would give Redskins an experienced coach who they could get that has won games in this league. Would also give us a fresh start and potentially and 1st rounder back. Then go hire Lincoln Riley.

BWAhahahaha

Stephen A Smith, a Steelers fan, "send Tomlin to the Redskins on a Gruden to the Raiders kinda deal!"

DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!

Stephen A thinks Tomlin is special. He wants Tomlin and Louis Riddick in DC. Listening to him today, you can tell it chafes him that Gruden got that sweetheart deal and of course the unspoken is that he sees race as a factor.

Please let Tomlin go be a symbol of progress somewhere else!

The argument of "who would you put in there is ridiculous. Three coaches in 50 some years. I'm thinking the short list would be very good. Tomlin doesn't coach offense or defense. He seems to not be able to correct anything or scheme anything or fix anything. The better question is what am I losing? Look at the Bengals. They kept Marvin forever. They are worse off now, but I would argue they are closer to a championship now then they ever were. Cause they were never going to win one with that guy.

Ham Sandwich could probably flip one of his slices of bread and would come up mustard side up on more challenges than CMT will.

His in game stuff is basically replacement level. Plus the next guy will never be accused of winning a title only with “Tomlin’s players.”

Interesting how big of a story this seems to be turning into, given Tomlin has 2 +1 years left on his contract. It would mean Washington would have to put together a massive offer for the Steelers to play ball. Not bad for a head coach some Steelers fans want to chase out of town with pitchforks & torches.

Yeah, well consider the guy who wants him, not a great football mind or owner, right?

It seems only Steelers fans are oblivious to how highly regarded Tomlin is around the league.

No matter what the fans want, why would HCMT want to leave his cushy job here with the Ronney's to take a job with Washington and Dan Snyder to re-build and start over? Signed a new two-year extension, is secure here. . . not even a logical possibility, sorry. That was fun for 5 minutes.
