Which pair would you prefer? I think Bryant/Wheaton will be better.

Sanders only had 22 catches and 2 TD's in second season and Wheaton will far exceed that.
Bryant will likely exceed Wallace's first year 6 TD's, but fall short of his 39 receptions. I believe
Bryant shows more upside than Wallace.

Not sure if it has ever happened, but currently 3 Steeler draft picks lead 3 different teams in total receptions
(Brown/Wallace/Sanders). Have to give Steelers credit, after much failure at drafting WR's, they recently
have seemed to perfect it.

I'd like to see Steelers keep their WR's longer, maybe take a page from MLB and sign them longer term earlier
in their current contract.

It is really early to tell on anyone but Wallace and Sanders. I was infavor of taking the trade to the pats for sanders when it was offered. Wallace did not have his heart in the Burgh and was not the all around receiver that Brown was. To quote Tomlin he was a one trick pony, it was a good trick but only one. He wanted paid more than his production demanded so I am glad we let him go, he found someone willing to over pay for his services.

We have Bryant and Wheaton and they are doing well the last three weeks but not so much before other than being either unable to get on the field or being inconsistent. Three weeks does not make a season or career but I am not missing the Wallace Sanders pair and I might become very happy with the two we have now if they continue to develop. They could be special or they could turn into a flash in the pan.

Wheaton is still learning his breaks. He's had some big miscommunication with Ben earlier in the year, but there's always that upside. Bryant, the sky is the limit however he is still very raw.

Wallace was a one trick pony. Sanders, blah.

To easy, Wallace and Sanders. Wallace was off to one of the best starts to a career as a war in the history of the NFL, in regards to TD's. Sanders is showing what he can do now that he's healthy.

Wallace has done very little since he left the Steelers. He took the money and ran. Wheaton and Bryant will be better.

Sanders is a tougher one. He didn't do much here. He started this year a little slow but is now a huge recipient of throws from Manning. He is lighting it up. I doubt he would do as well with another QB but, if he keeps this up, he will be better than Wallace also.

Go back in time a month and ask this question...

Wallace has tannehill throwing to him, Sanders has Manning. How would Sanders be doing with Tannehill, and Wallace with Manning?
I think Ben with Brown, Wallace, Sanders is better than Ben with Brown, Wheaton, Bryant, especially with a threat in the backfield and the OliOnline playing well

If the money was all the same, I'd rather have Wallace/Sanders.

But the money isn't the same so......

When you are throwing the rock all over the place, your WR's ALWAYS look better.

I think i would take bryant/wheaton. At this point Sanders is better than wheaton, but that is to be expected. Sanders was not great here, but now has manning to throw him the ball. If Wheaton had manning I think he would put up similar numbers. I was also not a fan of wallace. Did not care for his attitude / work ethic and thought he was over-rated. I think Bryant has a better route tree and seems to be more physical than wallace.

Bryant / Wheaton without a doubt.

Wallace has speed and can run deep and catch a perfectly thrown ball. If it is not perfect, he will not fight for it. Sanders can make a great catch here and there, but will miss the easy ones.

Bryant is only 3 games in and I love what I'm seeing from him. Same with Wheaton. I just think their upside is much better than one trick & Sanders.

And I was in favor of keeping Sanders instead of that 3rd rd pick a few years back. How things change?

Wheaton and Bryant for me

yep

I think Bryant has more upside than any wideout who's ever played for the Steelers. Can he put it all together, get that size/speed/strength combo to work consistently on the field? That has yet to be seen. But he has the potential to be a match up nightmare in a way that Wallace/Sanders/Brown do not.

Bryant is Plax with wheels.

Yep, I really like the way both Wheaton and Bryant go after the ball, unlike Sanders and definitely unlike over rated Wallace

Ben is "learning" how to throw to Bryant. His catch radius is significantly greater than any receiver we've had since Plaxico. If that tandem continues to improve theres a chance we are playin in Glendale this coming February.

This question is interesting. Last year I wanted Cotchery over Sanders to play #2. This year Sanders is absolutely killing it. He's a top 10 receiver and we'd be lucky to have him.

However, Wheaton and Bryant both have more upside and speed than Sandy. Today, I'd have to take Sanders and Wallace. Though the upside for Wheaton/Bryant is who we have and I'm glad we have them. If they keep preforming and improving, the sky is the limit with this pass attack.

Whoa! You must be young. There were these two called Swann and Stallworth. And even a Lipps that did great things with crappy QBs. I like Bryant but he has a long way to go.

Oh good adult supervision at last

I said upside. As in potential. As in raw talent and physical gifts.

How tall was Swann and how fast was Stallworth?

My point exactly. We've never had a player this gifted at the position. Ever.

Maybe Limas Sweed?

Or maybe H + W isn't the only measure we should be looking at here.

5 games in and you want to compare him to HOF players? Jump the gun much.

This statement is a non sequitur. I didn't make the comparison, scstillerfan did. I just replied to the comparison, so take it up with him.

Never watched John Stallworth did you?

Stallworth was 6-2, 185, and ran in the 4.5's in the old hand time days. He also averaged 16.2 yds.per catch for a career. Talk to me in about 10 years.

I'd like to see how Bryant/Wheaton catch the ball in Winter conditions before premature comparisons. Swann/Stallworth terrific in bad weather, Wallace not so good as I recall, Sanders ??? Thought Wallace made good choice signing with Miami besides $s, weather!
