93.7 the fan, They are going on and on about how good Rudolph was, how he has a cannon of an arm, and that Ben couldn't make that throw to Juju, LOL. These guys are ******* idiots. Then they start going on and on about Ben not being in the sidelines, why, if he wasn't allowed to travel then they need to make that known. They want so bad to blast Ben during a game he wasn't even a part of. Last week they said can't wait to see Mason bring back balance to this offense, Ben always wants to be in the shotgun, Mason will go under center alot more than Ben will and make this offense more balanced.

So no Ben, a **** ton of shot gun still, but that's because of Ben.

They can't go off Ben this season he was obviously affected by injury.

I doubt Mason played a snap of football under center in college. Just like a lot of fans it's easier to blame the guy that isn't playing. The offense wasn't the problem the past few years. It's the defense.

They will get what they want this year. A 2nd year QB that isn't Ben. They make excuses for him because he isn't Ben. BTW there isn't a pass Mason can throw that Ben can't. That wobbler of a pass to Johnson looked like a wounded duck. Luckily no defender was even close to him.

I refuse to **** on Mason Rudolph. I truly hope he becomes a bona fide starter. That doesn't mean anyone has to blame Ben. What is he supposed to do. And furthermore, if Rudolph is not a bona fide starter and they end up with 4 wins you got a real problem. You traded a top 5 pick for a safety. I still feel like I'm gonna throw up in my mouth over that next April.

Mason is not Ben, and Ben (even at this age) can make every throw that Mason can.

Like Sask, I refuse to **** on Mason. I did get the idea that an actual game is a lot faster than he's used to. At times he looked confused and indecisive. Other times, he looked poised and confident (that pass to DJ).

Recall that Ben also used to sail throws and make them high.

My only issue (at this point) is that when Mason throws the long ball he has to get a LOT of air under it. Seems he's throwing rainbows out there.

Mason truly did not have a chance yesterday, he was pressured. receivers did nothing to help him no running game and then throw in whatever the game plain was by Tomlin. Ben should not even be mentioned, now we know he was hurt in the NE game. We have no leaders. The defense starts strong end weak. You win games in the fourth quarter and the defense let down two weeks in arrow. Mason is doing what is called , coaching and lack of any immigration is the downfall of yesterday.

Ben could have been triple A Ben in the New England game. Would not have mattered. They employed their let's make Brady take 7 yard passes strategy. There is literally zero chance you can win like that. Joe Montana in his prime couldn't win against that.

I think Rudolph can be a solid starter in this NFL, but what sports show bashes their future HOF QB that has helped win two rings just to try to make the new guy look better???? Are they bashing Brees in NO?

No doubt.

The Steelers had a "first round grade" on Mason Rudolph. I wonder what grades they had on Gardner Minshew and Kyle Allen?

Hairball looks like a genius in Baltimore for tailoring an offense around a QB who scored Bud Dupree-level on his Wonderlic.

What are they saying about tomlin.............................................. Crickets

Salute the nation

Right. My issue isn't with Rudolph. He may turn out great. But that doesn't diminish what Ben has meant to this franchise. Ben is a HOF QB. He can make all the throws with ease. Rudolph doesn't have that arm but then very few do. It isn't a knock on him. That's just life.

Just par for the course these days for journalism. Rather than working hard by going out and doing interviews, etc. they are just stirring up !@#$ to attract their audience and for the most part, it works.

We were all fired up about the energy some of the new players had in training camp. Then most are let go and two picked up by other teams. The Giant game was on next to the TV I was watching the Steelers. Skipper was playing for the Giants with the same type of energy, he had a tackle and had three plays where he was able to get around the tackle and cause Winston to get out of pocket and threw the ball away. Skipper let go and to keep WR's depth is another of the head scratcher toward Tomlin not seeing REAL protentional and yet he still has Burns around.

As I said previously this week. I hope that Mason Rudolph grows and develops into something special. But the simple truth is, Rudolph could play the best game of his entire football life, H.S., college, pro and he'd STILL be half the player Ben is and has been.

He's a H.O.F. qb. in the top 10 across nearly every statistical category ALL TIME. You don't simply replace Ben Roethlisberger. It cannot happen. I was talking with a co-worker last week and I said I could only think of ONE time in my 40+ years of watching professional football that a team has gone from one true franchise (possibly H.O.F.) Qb to another. That's Green Bay.

However I was reminded that one Joe Montana was supplanted by Steve Young.

So there you have it. from what, 28 to 32 teams. 40 years. 2 franchises that replaced a true franchise QB, indeed a first ballot H.O.F. quality guy, with another franchise QB who makes the transition reasonably seamless.

well in a sense Montana and young were system qbs, ben not so much and mason is coming into a broke system missing its two biggest play makers with a super crappy coaching staff. we just have to see where he goes. he had a case of nerves yesterday but the passes behind the line of scrimmage which were suppose to make him more comfortable sukd bad. *** that making him comfortable he's been in league a year get the *** on with it and play ball if can't fukn ball after a year then he should get on with his lifes work... we aint got time for babysitting or coaches that babysit! we are the fukn pittsburgh fukn steelers not a fukn daycare!!! we have completely lost our mojo running around out there trying to "trick" ppl or "fool" them time to lineup up and hit somebody.. anybody!!! sorry for the rant.. lol goooo steeeelllerrrrsss!!!!!

I mean you can also say to a lesser extent rivers surplanted Brees... though Brees was much better in NO...

And NE absolutely looked at Bledsoe as a franchise Qb type... and brady surplanted him... it happens...

But people should also realize most first and second season qbs are not ready at all.

I am going to wait to see on this. The rainbow to Johnson for a TD was because he was so wide freaking open, Rudolph made sure not to miss him.

You're right, they never get on Tomlin, it's always the DC or OC. Tomlin gets a pass always.

Don't live in the Burgh so don't listen to 93.7, but I cannot believe the callers would give Mikey a pass. Jeez, when the Union army would not fight, Lincoln fired the commanding general, not a colonel. Tomlin is the freaking general here. He is the guy in charge. He deserves credit for a superior game plan and execution, and he deserves blame for a bad game plan and poor performance.

I agree on that pass, but, the out pass he threw that was almost and probably should have been picked took FOREVER to get out there.

Well, you're obviously racist, so . . . .

Gosh i can't remember seeing anything that would make me go man that's brilliant. What i see is the same thing over and over again. The same failure to address the simple things like tackling. The defense is so stale that it needs thrown in the trash can. Yet they still play the stupidest formations that have the highest probability for FAILURE! It's no wonder why every QB under the sun the last 5 years has had a field day.

The offense hasn't made much sense at all. They had better go back to power running attack with a FB and a damn TE blocking. That defense needs all the help it can get and that's keeping the opponents offense off the field for as long as possible.

It all looks like a great big clusterfuck. If they think 0-3 is bad ,try losing a few more games. The natives will have torches&pitch forks in hand.
