Lol. Thursday football.

I'm sure that's what fans of other teams said about that SNF 33-3 drubbing the Shitshow Steelers put up week one. Did you watch all that one?

I watched only one quarter of that **** show...

IF it wasn't the Steelers ---it would of not even been a TV viewing option that night..
sad to say..

Campbell was a monster last night... he had like 7 tackles and 3 sacks just total domination from the dline. Ramsey didn't do much to sell himself last night. He bounced off a TE trying to tackle him and gave up one long completion. To be fair the long pass was excellent coverage and it was just a great pass and concentration from the WR. He also gave up a couple short ones that i noticed. i did not intently watch every play though...

Yeah, he wasn't much of a standout, that other corner they had was far more dominant. Of course half the game was played in tropical storm like conditions in pouring rain so passing was kinda tough.

Jags finally got their D right, put all the money on D line pass rushers and stud corners, LBs and safties are no longer premier positions

Calais Campbell was dominating that Titan interior O-line all night long

i don't know what you mean, I've been told this week that if you have a pick in the top 10 it means you automatically get a franchise QB.

You can't always get a franchise QB in the top 10. However both our HOF QBs have come in the top 11. It just depends on the draft class.

Steelers don't have the personnel to rush the passer with the lumbering bears they have up front. They'd need to cut them all and start over.

a #1 draft pick pass rushing DL guy in the top 10 would be just the thing to turn the defense around

oh wait....

Then to add to the embarrassment they trade for a guy to plug the hole the last guy they drafted #1 was supposed to fill over the middle

Lmao, panic and desperation all over that move and a dagger through the hearts of any fans hoping for a silver lining in next years draft, they flushed those hopes down the drain too, crushing, really

Thursday games should only be on Thanksgiving day and involve Dallas, Detroit, Green Bay, and Chicago.

Next Thursday is Green Bay vs Philly, should be a good one

Steelers led the NFL in sacks last year.

I agree that they need another pass rusher to upgrade Dupree but Safety was a bigger need. I wouldn't even say Safety was the need. The need was a playmaker in the secondary.

They can get a good OLB in round 2.

I know people had visions of a top 10 pick but i seriously doubt the steelers would have been bad enough to draft that high. Green Bay was 6-10 last year and had the 12th pick. Carolina was 7-9 and picked 16th.

You usually have to be 5-11 to guarantee a top 10 pick. Multiple teams will finish 6-10 and will likely be drafting in the 8 to 12 range.

I really think worst case scenario was 6-10. This steeler teams has too much talent to be worse than that.

Fitzpatrick is not replacing Edmunds. He is complementing him. He's upgrading Davis.

How many times have the steelers entered a draft with a big need only to get shut out at that position. That's what happend at ILB in 2018.

Pass rusher is the hottest commodity outside QB. Last year, there were 4 pass rusher darfted in the top 9 picks. So even if the steelers drafted 10 next year, they still could still miss out and have to draft another position or trade back.

I guess I'm just surprised that anybody who has watched the secondary get shredded for what seems like 5 or 6 straight years, would be against spending a 1st rounder on a known commodity, A quality plug and play DB who could be the missing piece to the defense,

This clown car has no idea how to use talent. The Steelers are where good CBs go to get ******. You can throw first rounders at this mob every year and nothing will change because...Tomlin sucks.

Like I said before I've seen him in college. But I haven't seen him in the NFL. Is he really good? Has anyone on the board seen him play a game? I have no idea.

maybe hit the Dolphins board to get feedback?
just a suggestion..

Haven't seen him play a game but here's a highlight reel from his rookie year:

Yes they only show the good plays but he at least looks confident and playing fast out there.

I took your advice and did that. This is what I found:

1. Everyone says the issue with him was that he didn't like being moved around. This was an issue from day 1 when he first was drafted. He was drafted because of his versatility and Miami wanted to use it. He didn't want to be moved around. He wanted to play slot CB or boundary CB. He's bitched about it since day 1.

2. They were glad the organization didn't trade Howard (whoever that is) because he's supposedly a great CB. I never heard of him but again I don't watch Miami.

3. They loved Fitz's as a person. However, they were put off by his attitude and leadership. I bet I read 100 posts over several cites that called him childish for not buying into the program.

4. Most fans hate Grier. I assume he is the GM. Not taking the time to look it up. They think he pulled a fast one over on Pittsburgh because the Steelers aren't winning many games this year without Ben. But they still don't like him.

5. They see Fitz as a Nickel CB and not much more. Most say he had a disappointing rookie year and wasn't playing any better this year.

This are general things they are talking about. Of course this is after the trade when fans will turn on the players that left. They probably loved him while he was there.
