Kovacevic: Is Mike Tomlin right to lead Steelers into future? ?

I’m with you that was he Day I stopped being a fan of this team. I love the previous teams and hate the organization now. Now I watch so much football around the league really enjoy and love watching the Steelers suck dick. The start of this season has been great , might even be better than watching them choke away the playoffs last year. Had my wAgner jersey on Sunday cheering the **** out of limp elbow miss pass after pass

So why are you still posting here?

Hell no.

The argument I can’t stand is the dumbest ever - (say this with a dumb *** voice) “well, who ya gonna get to replace him?” Ughhhh

LOL, so true. Some fans truly have Stockholm Syndrome with this tool bag as if anyone knew who Noll or Cowher were.

The funny thing is that many of the same people have been heard to say "I trust the Rooneys" as in their judgment about retaining the great Mike Tomlin.

Well, I trust them to be able to find someone capable once they come to their senses and relieve this fraud of his command.

Tomlin would be so much more palatable if he would hire a DC and let him actually do his job. Everyone knew when he was hired, he liked to be head coach AND run the D. But, with HOFer and beloved LeBeau entrenched there, he let him do his thing. As soon as he had the opportunity when LeBeau left, he put a figure head in at DC and basically took over. If Rooney would force him to get a new DC (because they need a scapegoat and Butler is his name), and let the DC run things, the D would be so much better. All of these "communication" issues are either because the D schemes they are running are just so ****** up or they are getting signals from both Butler and Tomlin during the game.

If he can get this team, right now, to 8-8 then he's not a bad coach

If he can't, he's gone

That sounds like a bet
So if HCMT eeks out at a minimum an 8-8 season, does he get to justify his contractual agreement with the Steelers by “not having a losing season”?

Clearly, that would meet the standard, obviously

What this team really needs is a change of ownership. I don't know much about Art I except he was smart enough to hire a good coach. Dan wouldn't have put up with this mess this long, Rooney Rule or no Rooney Rule. Art II just doesn't care about the quality of product and counts on fan loyalty to keep the money coming in.

Because I enjoy the **** out of the fact they suck. All those playoff wins in the last 8 yrs love those also.
Only question now is will the Steelers finish with more wins than the steeler fan base has teeth?’ It will be close

can you imagine being in the opponents coaches room the week of their game against the Steelers ? Do you think they fear the braintrust that is Tomlin and company ? Has there ever been a single coaching.move Tomlin made that surprised and impressed you much less the opponent ? Seriously what is Tomlin's real strengths other than having a HOF QB his entire career and the great Steeler organization to prop him up ?What does he do well other than spew non sequiturs ?

Ah. So you're a piece of **** excuse for a "fan", then. I see

Seriously? That's the oldest, most unimaginative and unoriginal joke (if you really want to call it that) in the book. Do better than that, troll.

not a fan but rather a small minded person who actively seeks for and hopes that bad things happen to others. Pathetic, for sure, but some folks simply don't feel good about themselves so they have to hope others feel worse.

This topic matters to me. I have been off the Tomlin train for about 7 or 8 years. I could see it coming. He has no ability to adjust. He doesn't play against the opponent's strenghts. He can't play to his team's strengths. He throws people under the bus. He takes no accountability unless it's in the form of "us" and "we". I loved his quote from one of his first years - "I don't have to motivate professionals." Yeah you do, dipwad. He makes odd and lame calls regarding time outs, challenges, and schemes. He can't coach up a player to improve. He can't evaluate talent. He drafts for unknown reasons, and hangs his hat on low end prospect (Dri Archer, Spence, etc.). I really don't see the value with him at all.

He is a quality orator, but a poor to crappy coach.

I got tired of the hate I would get on forums (three at the time, now only two) and facebook, when I would point this out, but it is too obvious to the masses now. It's rather refreshing. I just hate seeing my team in this position.

Between our team in the hands of an amateur and the league letting the cheats do anything they want to win tainted trophies, this league has become very hard to watch. I'm not the retard watching the team implode because I like that, but I rarely watch at all anymore. I might watch Sunday's game to see if Mason is the man. I won't watch next week because I"m hunting, and I don't live in PA so I can hunt Sundays.

I wish I could get the football of the 70s - 90s back.

One more thing to add - I had a hard time getting on board with this guy up front. I felt that he was a smooth talking rookie, who benefitted from the Rooney rule. I was glad we didn't hire Cowher's OC (Can't remember his name), but thought that I smelled fish when it came to the Tomlin hire. You can imagine how popular that opinion was for a number of years.

Yes, plus he gets a pass this year because Ben was out for the season. The namesakes of the Rooney Rule are not going to fire their first black head coach no matter what. He could go 0-16 and he isn't getting fired any more than Clint Hurdle is.

Hey, it would take two seasons of "UNDEFEATED" to equal some of US true fans teeth. WAKE the **** up. How many teeth do you have, currently???

Do you think DANNY 27th ranked "bubbles cheek" SMITH survives as well???

Agree violently with every word except the 'quality orator' part - that was the immediate giveaway. Doesn't have natural command of the language. Oratory comes off the same (ergo the mimic) as all the rest of the package to me. Was vehemently against this kid from the beginning and at every point since. But Arty isn't a football guy. He doesn't see it. I seriously doubt that he looks beyond W/Ls and bottom line, and probably in random order. You see that in all the decisions. The Fitz decision was too obvious - you had to do that (my reasoning - critical need addressed immediately with an excellent known quantity v a future unknown, regardless of draft position. The skills, experience and CAP all work - no brainer. Anyway...)

So Shades is here for the foreseeable future. Bump him up to 'übercoach' or some such nonsense title so he can sit in the owners suite and play with blocks. Hire some real coaches and get on with it.
