Don't beat me up too bad here boys but we have to make some moves to improve this receiving corp even though I doubt Tomless has a clue and most likely will not.

So first off why not re-sign Eli Rogers and immediately cut the catch and drop to the ground Ryan Switzer. Eli knows the offense and I think is an immediate upgrade over Switzer.

Second move I make is sign either Terrell Pryor or Dez Bryant and bite the bullet and cut Moncrief or put him on IR but get him the **** off the field. Pryor and Bryant regardless of how you feel about them personally are an instant upgrade over Mondrops. Just sign either one to a one year deal and address the position with our first round pick next April.

We cannot continue in this fashion and I think we need a veteran presence on the field and it sure as hell is not Mondrops. Just my two cents.

Pryor is terrible and Dez Bryant is finished. I would resign Eli but at this point, who really cares.

Steelers should cut Moncrief anbd Switzer. I'm ok with Eli Rogers coming back as a #4 WR. Tomlin needs to move the young kids up the depth chart.....Washington & Johnson to #2 & 3 WR spots. I wouldn't mind seeing Dionte Spencer back but he's with Denver. We need someone who can return punts & kickoffs as our #5 WR. Maybe Tevin Jones from the Practice Squad....I do like his ability as a WR.

That would be admitting they have screwed up again in player evaluations, you know how stubborn the Steelers are to admitting mistakes, and Moncrief leaving would add another $3.5 M in dead cap space

They can't cut Moncrief, it cost to much vs the cap, and they don't have the space. He'll just ride the bench, give Washington, Holton, Johnson alot more playing time.

cut Switzer and bring back Eli - or go unconventional and snag Dorian Davis off the Vikings' practice squad.

Idk Tom! It didn't seem to bother them when they traded Mr.Big Chest and took on the 21 million against the cap. i wonder if they can at least IR him?

I had high hopes for Moncrief, hopefully it is just his injury that is the problem. IR would be an option, and may be a way to save face.

I'd rather have Spencer over Moncrief at this point, but we lost that option.

I did like Eli over Switzer. Eli is quicker, has better hands, and a higher chance to break tackles for a big play.

As far as the X now, you have to start Johnson. The rookie can handle it, and I'd like to see them swap JuJu and DJ between the X and Y to get better matchups. Right now our only plan to get matchups is the bunch. Run some freakin motion, set some double stacks. What we're doing now isn't helping our receivers.

IR him with an injured finger and then bring in a shitload of WRs for tryouts. No matter who we think is washed up. The workouts can shed light on that. Eli replaces Switz and one of the tryout WRs gets signed.

Cutting Moncrief would add another $3.5M in dead cap money to the WR position, they wont do it

Serioulsy on Eli? Dude is NOT an upgrade to Switzer in any way. He did nothing when here. He did nothing, especially when healthy. Switzer dropped 1 punt in 2 years and got it back. That's not a reason to bench him or cut him. He is a much better receiver than Eli as well. If Moncrief doesn't figure out his fingers, then maybe you IR him and bring back Eli but even then, I'm not so sure. Moncrief needs to sit and not practice for 2 or 3 weeks if this truly is his fingers otherwise, this will nag him all year just like Sweed.

I'm still trying to figure out why we aren't using more receivers in motion to get the D to show their pre-snap adjustments.

Thats what I've been saying to bring in Eli and cut Switzer. Yes, bring in a bunch of receivers, Prior, Dez if still interested, bring in a bunch of them and sign the best one and then IR Moncrief. Why not?

1. Agree w/ the majority on benching Stone Hands - permanently by IR'ing him.
2. Disagree on cutting Switzer - yes, he dropped to the ground on a crossing route (so he could play another play/day).
3. Moving DJ to #2 is now a must; but Washington does have a known relationship w/ Rudolph.

I cannot say that the season is over because we need help, for obvious reasons, on defense too...

Switzer has earned my trust. He has to have a really bad season before I turn on him. However, you have to accept that he is an "emergency outlet" guy. In my opinion, where he is best is when the play doesn't turn out how you want, the #1 and #2 are covered up and can't shake loose and there's Switzer, floating around 5-7 yards as an outlet. I honestly don't EXPECT him to break a big run. I expect him to make a tough catch and get his *** hammered while either getting a mid length first or getting the team closer to a 3rd and manageable.

You NEED a #2 that can challenge the defense to loosen things up a bit. At this point, I'm not even sure teams will cover Mongrief anymore, unless they want to up their turnover numbers. Washington is still raw, but I believe he shows some potential.

Ultimately consider this... The Steelers thrived for some time with Hines Ward and Antwaan Randle El as #1 and #2, They would throw in a guy like Plax here and there, but largely those two were the receiving corps core (if you will) of the Steelers for some time. I know the game has changed and defenses are even more complex and adept at shutting down the pass, but I refuse to believe they can't figure out a way to get SOME separation for JuJu, Diontae and James. Throw in Vance and you SHOULD have a competent group of guys to throw the ball to. You just NEED to come up with a decent scheme offensively to get them the ******* ball.

Second string receivers with a second string QB and a second string defense, lol

0-3 here we come

I think these guys would perform better if our Oline could start run blocking better and make the opposition account for something.

I trust him to catch the ball but I don't trust him to get open consistently. He should not be on the field for this team (as a WR or PR) the way the coaching staff is using him. You are correct that he is fairly sure handed, the guy just can't get open and even when he does catch the ball, he's brought down IMMEDIATELY. Jesse F'n James had more YAC last year than Switzer on 6 less receptions...that's ridiculous. He needs rub/pick route type plays to create space for him to get open down the field. I don't trust our genius staff to draw up anything that works to our players strengths at this point.

We have a collection of WRs that scare no defense and have trouble getting open.

I know of a guy who would also love to come back......
