if Ben

Mason looked better because he threw to an open TE and WRs instead of forcing the ball to Switzer and Moncrief which was the preferred Steelers gameplan with Ben

This is a team of backups on offense now, right where they belong

Randolph has the chance to be a very very good starting QB he is smart, has a good arm and is very coachable. There are a lot of NFL QBs doing very well with less talent, Dak Prescott, Jacoby Brissette, Kirk Cousins , etc. This is not your grandpa's NFL, mediocre talent can thrive with todays pass friendly rules.

Loved Rudolph excitement but lets stop and look at the plays he made were basically trick type plays. When Ben was in there he was being rushed, we had the same type formation sets, No calls were made to slow down Seattle rush.

First off. Mason is no where near a franchise QB. Has zero chance to be anything more then a career back up

Second we are in major trouble years of it

Guys. I hate to be negative but a non contact injury like this is serious. It’s tommy John serious which is probably career ending or it’s at a minimum several months. Mason is solid but not a franchise QB. He will not be the next great one.
All the Steelers have had is BIG BEN for several years. Without Ben Tomlin is out the league in 3 years.
Unfortunately I see this team firing mike and being several years away from a competitive. It’s depressing but I think it’s where we are headed. Should have fired mike years ago.
Damn damn

Lets hope you are wrong

This is to original post not Blitz.
Wow after a half of football where our starting O did nothing and Rudolph almost pulled us back in it. He is tall, has a nice release, and decent wheels. The middle screen to McDonald was pretty and showed alot of poise. The bullet to McDonald for a TD was also a good pass. Not sure why he can't be a franchise guy, but it is way too early to tell either way.

Actually some players said he was dealing with inflammation all week, I saw that reported by Steelers Depot on Twitter.
Not sure if it's tendonitis

I believe it, Ben was never in sync in the Patriots game, i bet he was hurt before the season even started.

There was one trick play.....ONE, which was used to give the offense a jolt. A play action pass is hardly a trick play, and his “fake spike” turned touchdown was more of a veteran/moxie type play. Look, I’m not ready to say that Rudolph is here to save the season, or that he’s a sure-fire bet to usher in a new era of Steelers football. Two things: one, Seattle wasn’t prepared for Mason; they were there for Ben. Let’s see how Rudolph acquits himself when an opponent has a full week to game plan against him (although there’s not much a difference between the two; it’s not like one is a pocket passer and one is a running qb; the offense remained relatively the same sans the production). Second, hopefully the injury to Ben isn’t a severe one, and he can put a little more “oomph” behind him knowing that a young gun is ready to take the wheel. I was as encouraged by Rudolph’s play today as anyone else, but I also hope that this isn’t the last time we seen Ben take the field for meaningful football.

PS: **** you, Donte Moncrief; you are a total bag of ****, and you have no ******* backbone. The whole offense rallied around the young buck except for your punk ***. The only contributing factor you could possibly offer this team going forward is serving water to the guys on the sideline......Unfortunately, I’m sure you’ll drop the damn tray, and ruin that for everyone too. **** you.

No one is trading high draft picks for Ben at this moment. C'mon.

Two things.

1. He won't be traded and will be starting on return.
2. He still has trade value, and we are talking multiple first rounder type value...

Is History Repeating itself?

Tommy Maddox is injured in the Ravens game and Ben comes in and almost pulls out the "W". He doesn't lose another game until the AFC Championship game.

Ben is injured and Mason sparks the offense and damn near pulls out the "W".

Who am I kidding...Cowher had the sense to know that Ben was ready, albeit in a limited manner, to take the reigns. Cool Shades will start Ben until he retires. Mason looked pretty damn good today, we'll see how he progresses with teams preparing for him.

Also happened during the 2nd week of the season.

Ben was definitely dealing with something this week. He only takes Wednesdays off of practice when he is injured. At least Rudolph had a whole practice this week to prepare!

First of all we have no idea what they have in Rudolph, whoever wants to postage stamp him on an envelope really has no idea of his value. Yeah they are kidding themselves.

It is a wait and see kind of deal.

I get the feeling if Rudolph had started today we would've won. Ben didn't seem like himself, the offense was stagnant in the first half when we should've taken control of the game early. Let Ben heal and play Rudolph.

There is zero evidence to say what Rudolph is at this point. I just don't want Ben off for four weeks, the season lost and he comes back. That is worst case.

Not every starter in the league is going to be patrick mahomes. I dont think we've seen nearly enough of mason as of yet, to already know that he cant be the next franchise qb

Ben wasn't the same last week either.

Mulitple first round picks? Sure, if a top-flight team loses their qb for the season JUST before the trade deadline, and are loaded at just about every position for a good while, except for backup qb. Otherwise, no, teams are not going to throw multiple 1st round picks at the Steelers for 37-yr old Ben

It only takes one team. Look around teams give up a good amount for less. Look at Manning at the end a lot of people thought he wasn't going to push out another SB win.

Ben is a once in a generation type talent. An arm injury or age doesn't diminish what he put on paper last season.

I stand by what I said he has value. And more than some think..........

I think Rudolph is more than capable. we could win 9-10 games with him this year

it really doesn't matter who the QB is, we won't win **** with that ****** Defensive coordinator and gameplan. And yeah, it includes Tomlin, not only Muppet Butler (The Muppler?)

If Brady gets dinged in Dec we can always trade Ben to them for a 3rd and 5th so he can get another ring with his little buddy WR

That would be some drama right there, lol

yeah we could make a special trade after the deadline it could happen.

Moncrief got 2 years/ $9M

What a deal huh?

Can we fire Colbert too?

Colbert brought us Nelson, raped the Raiders for three picks, and has had some solid drafts.

Not sure he is the problem.

manning didn't push out another SB win, the denver defense did. hell, manning was benched for brock osweiler during the middle of that season.

Dear Kevin Colbert,

I would've taken $8 mil to drop passes, you could've saved some money on that cap!

Ben grabbed his high fore arm just like a Pitcher that now needs Tommy John.

Rudolph isn't the starting QB of the future as of the 2nd quarter.

he's the starting QB.
