People need to stop whining about the refs. You could say they we're terrible, but they did not cost us the game. Dupree had a clear helmet hit on Wilson that was not called on the play that everyone has amnesia about. Also the refs called a terrible block in the back on the seahawks on another drive, and the refs didn't let Wilson run wild up the middle or not cover Dissly etc etc.....

100% correct.

I think the Helmet to helmet was the penalty. They saw that and made up the PI. That was not PI. I think the Drew Brees whiney ***** rule is a terrible idea.

I wasn't able to see the game, but the video on the link puzzles me. What did Edmunds do that was considered PI?

true but there are so many times that reviews of plays have ****** this team that it is getting old. If the refs on the field had called PI that would be one thing but on review such a ticky tack bullshit call should not be made.

He touched him briefly.

So much this. Regardless of everything else that transpired, looking at strictly this play, there wasn’t enough to call it DPI. Holding? Maybe. But that supposedly isn’t allowed to be called on these plays. If that was interference, then the one they committed in Juju was a total ******* mugging because he about ripped his shirt off, and yet was only called defensive holding. I’d also like to say that the Dupree hit was a bad one that should’ve gotten called, but Watt was also getting undressed by their right tackle on the damn play too. There were penalties everywhere on that play, by both teams, yet that was reversed. It was weak. Totally weak.

The refs suck and the new rule sucks. And PI being a spot foul has always sucked. And **** Drew Brees. The Rams beat down their whiny ***** again.

Brees was hurt he didn't play the whole game.

Actually, i think it should be called the Sean Peyton whiney ***** rule much moreso than the drew brees whiney ***** rule

The rule was designed to prevent an outrage like what happened in the NFC Championship Game,

Today it was used to create an outrage. No one would have ever complained about that call or non call. There was nothing controversial about it. Until NY overturned, NOW it is controversial. Thanks Al Riveron. **** you very much.

And it was entirely predictable that a competent NFL coach would use this new rule to his advantage by utilizing the challenge strategically, the consequences were nil, The reward far outweighs the risk in this scenario, 3rd and long or a 38 yard penalty?...**** might as well challenge the PI.

This is a 1 year rule.

which of course ***** the Steelers

As someone stated Watt was also mauled on that play, that should offset the Dupree hit on the QB, and the penaly on Edmunds was inconclusive at best, it looks like the Seattle receiver twisted and turned towards the ball causing the illusion that Edmonds interfered with him when he barely if at all touched him. Teams have been losing those type of Pass interference replay challenges since the start of the season so why reverse the call on the field now? Getting back to the Dupree non call, if called that's only 15 yards vs 40 yards on the PI so I'll take the Dupree penalty instead of the interference call for those arguing that the tick tacky pass interference made up for the non call on Dupree. But as far as the entire play at worst there should've been offsetting penalties due to the Watt hold, and replay the down.

I've been watching the steelers and NFL for 51 years and you wonder why a 51 year fan is watching less NFL and ONLY STEELERS games.!

Salute the nation

Damn and I thought I was old.

:biggrin1::brushteeth:

Impossible! Dupree doesn’t even get that close to the QB

Wasnt this new rule supposed to overturn ONLY the blatant, obvious interference such as the one in the SB?

A. The refs were not why the Steelers lost...
B. If this wasn’t called PI then Dupree should have gotten a RTP personal foul, so its mostly irrelevant... like what a 15 to 20 yard offset?
C. All penalties called should be reviewed, but you shouldn’t be allowed to challenge to get one.....that is dumb

aren't the rules different with the passer is that far out of the pocket?

either way, his hit was not reviewable and the ticky tack PI should not have been called on review, that is supposed to be for blatant missed calls not ones that could go either way

Here is one important fact mentioned by the article. That was the first Non-defensive pass interference play OVERTURNED on instant replay review in the history of the NFL. How many were challenged before this one? How many were worse but still never overturned?

The officiating Czar is a tool for deciding games and making it look “within the rules of play”. Total BS.

3 plays changed this game

McCullers falling on the center on the FG play that gave them a TD later.
MonGrief INT
PI being overturned. All 3 of those led to touchdowns if I am not mistaken.
