Donte Moncrief - Ike Mongrief - Hands that work like feet

that ******* "drop" in the end zone, he was watching the ******* ball, and still didnt run to it.

**** this guy

I'd get Rogers back and cut Moncreif. Go with JuJu, Washington and Johnson as your main 3.

Never liked the signing, never thought he was going to be an impact player because he was going to be playing with Ben. The guy was a cheap free agent for a reason. We need to sit him down, cut him or do whatever we can from putting him on the field.

I was all-in on Moncrief, loved what I was hearing coming out of camp, especially from Ben. Bought into his 4.3 speed, his top level sparq athleticism. Bought into his 'calming, veteran presence' that was gonna be so critical for our young WR room.

Then came the game and he was right out of the Walking Dead. It was like he ate psilocybin mushrooms before kickoff, was dazed and confused the entire game, had that 'dead' look in his eyes, as if he wasn't even there.

Good God, why now, why against the Pats? Why did you do this to us, Donte?

Steelers have arguably the worst WR group in the league now, thanks front office.

Moncrief is better than he showed last night. Hell, I'm better than he showed last night and I'm 50 years old.

He was great in college and decent as a pro so far even though he had to suffer through Blake Bortles in Jax. I hope he can rebound. Saw Ben in his face talking to him a few times. This team needs him to hold onto those passes. Everybody knows JuJu is going to get the coverage this season. Has to step up. Let's hope.

It seemed the stage was too big for him, of all people. It's like his mind and body froze up, as if suffering from stage fright when an actor stutters and struggles to get his lines out. Something seemed wierd about his body language the entire game. I kept hoping he'd snap out of it and show a spark, but he seemed brain dead for the entire three hours. Strange.

Maybe he's better then this, and will ball out from this point on. If not, he'll be bagging groceries in no time.

Let’s hope Dionte Johnson gets better each week and becomes the #2. I think James Washington is nothing more than Nate Washington, maybe a little worse cause he’s scared of contact.

This whole he had to suffer through Blake Bortles is bullshit. The man dropped more balls in one night than most do over the course of a season. What a total let down for someone who supposedly is on a show me contract. He showed us alright.

Moncrief was garbage 3 years ago when i dumped him off my fantasy team. he is about a 3rd tier WR on any team he been on

)once again Tomlin coaching method, leave him in when he had how many critical drops.

Yeah on that play he just voluntarily whisked himself off the field cause he got scared of his own shadow, Washington showed me his true colors. What a wuss... he could have easily scored a touchdown if he plants his feet and continues running straight. Hate to say it, but those were the plays AB was so good at... which of course just adds insult to injury.

that play just pissed me off.....yeah a bunch of others did as well, but that was just ******* pathetic

After this pathetic display Moncrief should be benched and moved to that #5 spot on the depth chart. Ben did nobody any favors showing continued trust in him, kept going back to Moncrief time and time again. For the love of God, enough is enough. Drop him to the bottom of the pecking order and force him to work his way back up.

Ok, while I was ready to cut him by about halftime last night, let me say that as usual Ben had no timing down with his wideouts in the first game of the season.... so while the drops are on him, I will give him a one game pass....

Maybe Blake had to suffer through Mongrief...

I was mad at Washington stepping out at first but on replay it seemed as if he was off balance because he tried to tightrope while making the catch to make sure his feet were inbounds and it threw him off balance and he veered out after a step or 2

I think he looked back thinking he was going to be flagged and that threw him off balance.

i'll give Washington a pass on that catch. I've seen dozens of WRs run out of bounds after making similar catches. AB's done it, too.

however, as I look across ESPN and other sporting sites, why am I not seeing: "Pittsburgh Steelers waive/cut Donte Moncrief"????

ATTITUDE starts at how you practice and from the top. It's OK to live for another play but NOT ok just to not gain the yards. His practices show what is acceptable and that is step out of bounds. we need more intensity from the top, intensity that is believable not just yappers yappiN.

Salute the nation

In game, I thought he let his momentum carry him a bit that way and he just wasn't aware of how close to the sideline he was. At full speed, it happens. This is a small correction for the young receiver. The team has far bigger problems than this. At least Washington caught it rather than it clang off his hands.

I don’t understand where Washington supposedly gained all this speed. They kept talking about him like he’s Desean Jackson out there. All I saw were Pats DBs running right next to him.

I assumed Montcrief was brought in to be the Martavis deep threat and Washington would be used more inside to play to his strength of being a physical player. It just doesn’t make sense.

yeah, i figured we'd have Juju on the outside, running a full tree route. Thought Juju did better from the slot.

speaking of ... we seriously need to get rid of that 3 WR bubble. Pats showed last night exactly how to counter that with an OLB faking the rush then dropping back into the zone.
