He was never IN the game enough to be confused. Pretty much it was an epic ***-kicking from the P*ts second series on.

I guess if you're a Tomless fan, at least you didn't have to see him looking utterly confused. He understood precisely that his *** was kicked likely from the moment he stepped off the plane.

I remember the one season we got trumped by the colts in the regular season and then won the super bowl going through that same colts team, I'm hoping this is a wake up call for the team, I'm trying to be as optimistic as I can be after tonight

You mean when Cowher was HC. We don’t have Cowher at HC anymore..

I know who the head coach was, IDC what anyone's nostalgic look at cowher is, he was stubborn and didn't adjust either, I was more referring to the player's turn around in performance

I think after 10 years any coach start to get stale (except Bellicheck). I am not going to complain everyday about him, but after the season they need to make a decision on coaching.

We don’t have a defense like that one either nor an offense for that matter. That wasn’t as nearly as bad of a beating than what we took tonight.

I'm not either, but a change is needed. And boy does this team miss Daniel M. Rooney.

This team also needs an owner with the stones it takes to make the hard decisions. Without someone like that at the helm, you get to watch **** like this every year.

The players always have the right answer. We had a good gameplan. We just didn't execute it. Really. Letting Brady stand there and avoiding the 7 to 15 yard zone of coverage. Abandoning the run game at the first sign of trouble. These were good gamwplans. Cmon.

And hopefully they clean the whole slate and get rid of every single coach. People on here talk about Tomlin's look. Butler's is worse. Now throw in our new OL coach. Lol

it's the first game of the season, but Tomlin admitted they weren't ready to play NE last night. Well, whose job is it to get them ready through the off-season and pre-season? The cap strapped Steelers really looked like they need that one big play WR they lack and some defensive explosion. They may turn it around this season, but NE owns Tomlin and the Steelers and it's not close.

How can he say that. He had all summer to get the team ready.

I was screaming for a wr and cb early in the draft and a mid round safety.

If made a thread about the lack of speed at WR and DB. It was on display last night

Our number two reviver might be Switzer.

We have zero depth at TE. The Snell pick sucked. Could have went TE, S or CB here

Sorry I didn't actually read anything you said once I saw you again tooting your own horn and sniffing your own farts

Okay. So Cowher's team would fight you to the death, had defenses that QB's actually feared, became a great team with an above-average QB, and would impose its will on the opposition more often than not.

Tomlin's team drops it pants and boxers, bends over, and asks the opposition if it would not be too much trouble to use a bit of lube - which never happens.

Mike Tomlin "rebuilt" the defense in his mold. That defense is pillow-soft and has the heart of the tin man.

I love the rewrite of history as if Brady didn't torch that Lebeau/Cowher 12 yd cushion defense every single time, yep they were ALWAYS intimidating. No there were plenty of games where those great D's got torched, for years we complained about the cushion defense, but like I said it's nostalgic bs to act as if it was all roses under Cowher

Plan and simple, this team or at least the remaining veterans won't play for Tomlin. Ben voiced this year's ago but fell on deaf ears. Now their paying for it. If I was a season ticket holder I'd be on the phone. All of them should be. This has been a problem and they refuse to listen and the team has gotten worse to the point last night. I'm a Steelers Fan with my head hung low today. Embarrassing [emoji852]

Ummmm you need to read up on your history, Cowher/LeBeau were 1-1 vs Brady in 2004, and lost by 1 point to Brady in 2005 20-19, hardly torching them.

Cowher was not stubborn, we threw the ball 52 times in that AFCCG in 1994 and we didn't trail until half way through the 4th, hardly martyball. 2001 we ran it 8 times and threw it 26 times in the first half vs NE in the playoffs, totally opposite of what we did that season. 2005 playoffs come out throwing in all 3 games playoff games.

Patsies won the 2001 playoff game off special teams. The defense gave up 10 points.

In 2004, during the regular season, the Steelers mauled the Patsies, and picked Brady twice. The 2004 playoff, game, the Patsies took advantage of a rookie QB who struggled the first playoff game and threw 2 very, very, very bad interceptions in the championship game. Still, that team rallied like hell in the 2nd half and got to within 38-27 by outscoring the Patsies 24-14. Do you think a Tomlin team would face a 24-3 deficit, and wind up battling back and making a game of it?? Get real.

2005, the Patsies threw their last regular season game to avoid playing Cowher's Steelers. Don't believe me? Belichick had Flutie drop kick a ******* extra point, and he had his 3rd string QB play the 4th quarter.

So that sums up Cowher and the Patsies. 0-2 in the playoffs, where his defense dominated in 2001, and his QB threw two disastrous picks but his team still rallied back, and where his team simply punched the Patsies in the face during the regular season and where Belichick all but forfeited a game to avoid the Steelers in the playoffs.

They asked Tomlin about the FG on 4th and 1 at the goal line, Tomlin said we wanted something positive.
They asked DeCastro about that same play and he said, there's nothing positive about that, we'd rather go down swinging.

I was the ONLY one calling for a WR in rd 1, you wanted defense like all the rest

I don't know if Switzer can revive a dying plant with some miracle-gro, Cooch.

Honestly, I didn't feel at any point in that game that coming back from 2nd and 7 was very likely... I never really felt as though they were going to convert a 3rd down. That they did convert what, 2? Surprised the **** out of me.

Steelers need a elite running back. Smh
you mean like a pro-bowl running back? Lemme see... Yep, they have one. It might help if they USED him a bit.

Just so you're clear on how AWESOME the offensive game plan was last night - Switzer was Switzer and Mongrief were targetted on 16 plays. They provided a combined 36 yards from scrimmage on those plays. (2.25 ypc if you're counting...)

the RB you hate ran 10 times. Admittedly his average was pretty weak. He gained just 21 yards on the ground for an average of 2.1 ypc. But you also have to remember that Conner was targeted 4 times in the passing game. (He caught all 4 for an additional 44 yards.) That means over 14 plays, Conner added 65 yards. That's better... 4.65 ypp.

In short, Conner was the LEAST of the Steelers problems last night. The game plan relied heavily on Mongrief and Switzer making plays and they failed utterly to do so. In fairness, Switzer did catch just about everything thrown to him, but we may want to start throwing more than 3 or 4 yards deep now and then. Mongrief was beyond abysmal. He dropped 2 TDs last night and a 4th down conversion. and that was only HALF his ******* drops. And just so we're clear - Had Mongrief caught both those TD opportunities, the Steelers would have been in the ballpark of 14-20 or 14-27. At least they would have had some HOPE.

As soon as they realized Mongrief wasn't actually off the team bus yet they should have switched Washington in, used Holder for the deep routes to clear and had Washington and JuJu running intermediate routes. They should have stuck with the run and pounded at the cheats so they could put together at least a semblance of a play-action opportunity. But... No. Just keep throwing **** to Mongrief and 2 yard slants to Switzer and assume **** will Aaaaaall work out.

Spike Bro.....You weren't the ONLY one, if you recall I started this thread WIDE RECEIVER U....Hey everyone LOOK AT MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Wide Receiver U....

Been doing this "Law of Attraction" thingee which says focus & think about only the positive in others & circumstances as what you think on or dwell on, you always attract.

So....In the spirit of being positive & looking at what we do really, really well, it is time for Steeler Nation to "attract" our next 2 stud wide receivers. I firmly believe we will draft 2 of them. One in rounds 1 or 2 for sure, and I say another in 3 or 4...

We can draft & develop Wide Receivers. We attract star receivers, & very, very serviceble secondary receivers like no other team.

Who we bringing in guys?

Ben needs a couple of new shiny toys....What say Ye?

Dilly, Dilly

I'd rather go big or go home. I felt deflated after the FG. I could imagine what the players thought. Oh yea, a TD given up the other way, three plays later.
