I just have a feeling that the Steeler defense is going to physically beat up New England Sunday. I really have zero fear of New England since we ditched that soft zone defense that we deployed for years against them. I just think we are too fast and talented on defense for them. I really see Brady having to hold that ball all game due to tight man coverage. I think he will be running for his life Sunday. Usually I am nervous about playing them. I dont have any of that this week. I feel like the Curtain is back.

While i definitely feel we have a great shot at winning i don't quite share your enthusiasm. Bush is very athletic, but he definitely had some mistakes. I am not down on the guy at all, but he is young and we have new parts on D. I can see the new England offense causing some confusion. Hopefully the athleticism will be enough to create a couple big plays

If our front 7 looks anything like it did against the Titans, it could be a long night for Tommy Boy.

Then again, their ******* OL can get away with mugging players, so some will depend on whether the refs swallow their whistles or not. Cheating ********.

I think we have improved on DEF but all I expect or hope for when playing New England is that they compete and are physical. I want New England to have to work their *** off for every yard.
I think the Steeler OFF is going to be the bigger surprise to opposing teams in the fact that they won't miss a beat without AB. I see them being more balanced and hope they chew more clock with a time of possession increase per game. Death by diversity. I believe they will beat the Pats this time around in Foxborough.

Screw it man, Coach posts redundant threads all the time.

I feel good about this game too. The pats are not a great team. They are winning mainly because they make few mistakes which means you have to beat them by making plays, not by tricking them. With the way the current NFL is all schemed up with alleged "genius" coaches, few teams focus on execution. They focus on scheme and splash plays.

Plus they cheat.

They Pats have had the steelers number because over the last 10 years or so, they have been too scheme reliant. That's why the offense under Arians and Haley struggled so much in the redzone. Because redzone is about fundamentals. It's about blocking and running a sharp route and making a quick read. It's harder to trick a defense when they only have 10 yards to defend.

Same with the steeler defense. If the scheme didn't get a free rusher, they weren't getting pressure.

The Pats were winning because they could pick up the steelers blitzes and on defense, they were big and physical and controlled the steeler OL. The steeler secondary had nobody who could cover man and few playmakers.

Those are the major changes made over the past 2 years for the steelers. They have become a more honest run game, with good blocking and not just because the defense is afraid of the pass and conceding the run.

On defense, they now have playmakers at all 3 levels. The front 7 is physical and fast. Much better suited to defend short passes. They have coverage guys now.

This steeler team is better able to win games by blocking and tackling, by winning on routes and making contested catches. By actually covering WRs and not hoping scheme confuses the QB, by winning 1 on 1 matchups in pass rush.

In short, i think the steelers have gone back to being a good football team and not a schemed up collection of individual playmakers.

With the Pats OL troubles, the Steelers should be able to control the line and pressure Brady, particularly up the middle. Brady is a below average QB when pressured.

I do feel good about this game, but the Pats do cheat and it's home so it could go either way.

Look I hate these ******* like the rest of ya'll, but all you do is make a case for them being a great team.

They make less mistakes, they focus, & they make splash plays....

Time for us to make less mistakes, focus, & make some splash plays.....

Time already to take Tommy Boy out....

The point i'm making is that in today's no practice NFL all it takes to be great is to limit mistakes and execute. They are not actually great in terms of talent. Play them straight up without relying on trickery and they are very beatable.

The Steelers barely made it above .500 last year.

The Cheats won another SB.

Nobody should feel good about this game till it's over.

I've been saying it in a couple threads. Brady is getting old, and they've moved to a power rush on O. It wlll destroy their division (minus Buffalo), but we're equipped to stop it.

Going to be fun watching them have trouble moving the football against us.

We should hire a Vanna White lookalike and have a game of Wheel of Fortune ongoing on the sideline.

How it goes I typically get excited and then for some reason the first couple games come out looking like the preseason and guys underperform. I really hope they prove me wrong and put an *** whopping on those cheaters.

Power run game stopping is our D stregnth. t*mmyb*y will be tough to sack with QWICK hand offs / passes but I still see 1-3 sacks. It's the pressure in his face and hurried excecution that will be his demise.

The game is in Foxboro, they are raising their banner, their OL and DB's will get away with mugging, hell they'll be allowed to use weapons if they need to. It'll be sickening.

We're equipped to stop it, but will Tomlin go away from the 2DL to stop it? We've been using 2DL on goal line or short yardage situations. 2DL is definitely not a way to stop the power running game.

I disagree.

This version of the ***s will not have Gronk as a blocker for the run, nor as a bail-out for Marsha, nor will he be running down the middle of the defense. Instead, they'll utilize Gordon going deep, Edelman on the short stuff and Thomas as a TE/WR hybrid (not that he'll line up as a TE, but that he'll stay close to the LOS). They'll be much different than we've seen before.

If Sony is in the game, they'll run the ball, but rarely throw it to him as his hands aren't that good. James White is the better receiving option, but isn't as good cutting and finding holes at the LOS.

IMO, our secondary will still have their hands full. Our safeties will need to focus on defending the long ball first and keep everything in front of them without peeking into the backfield too much or getting pulled to the LOS. The ***s will be running 3 WRs, forcing us to pull a LB off the field and bring in a DB (Sutton or Hilton).

yep. their new Center will he an all-pro at blocking in the middle and will not have a single flag for holding. bet on it.

I've heard this song a bunch over the years. My perspective hasn't changed one iota.

I can't imagine the Patriots moving to a particular and predictable strategy. They seem to do whatever they think will work best. I hope you are right, but I'll need to see it before I believe they are limiting their gameplans because of Brady.

They are the defending Super bowl champs, this team couldn't sniff the playoffs last year.
The defence looks much improved, but I don't see how you lose 2 all pro caliber weapons plus your starting tight end and are a better team??
The pats lost there best skill player also and are not as scary as they once were but there is the fact that they have the best coach in the league and have historically owned the Steelers for Ben's entire career.
I will never be confident in a Mike Tomlin led team to be ready to play their best football when it counts.

This narrative needs to stop immediately.....especially from Steeler Faithful.
We lost ONE All-Pro caliber weapon from last year - A Clown.
Bell did not play one single snap last year. We actually lost him two years ago.
And Conner or Conner/Samuel more than showed they can pick up the mantle admirably.
We already know what this team looked like without Bell.
We just need to see what it looks like without A Clown now.

thought you needed a little clarification as well
