By Jared Villani SteelerNation.com While the Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker corps has some fantastic talent and the starters have likely been decided, the 53-man roster has not. One player making an awful lot of noise and could earn himself a spot on the Steelers final roster is outside linebacker, Tuzar Skipper. Tuzar Skipper has been quite […]

Good article Jared.

The Steelers exciting young linebacker has tallied a sack in each of the team’s three preseason games

The guy knows how to find the quarterback. You keep those guys around. End the Chickillo experiment already, we have enough good STs players.

Does Skipper play STs?

Skipper is one of those players that comes around every so often, who you take one good look at and say, damn, that kid's got it. Not sure if it's any one thing specifically, I just love his overall demeanor on the football field. He seems like he belongs. Full of energy, always at the right spot at the right time, plays full bore on every play. Maybe he reminds me a little of Joey Porter, the way he played and carried himself on the field. Anyway, it would be a shame to see him go.

I mean I get wanting upgrades we all do. And I get Chickillo isn't popular. But he serves a purpose. And to knock him off the roster, you have to be better than him IMO more than one area of your game. I am willing to think they keep Skipper and Chickillo before they would do a swap. I think Grant sometimes called Gilbert and Ola have a jump on Skipper. And then you have to wonder if the FO is still high on Sutton Smith's STs capabilities.Deep group this year, and two to three players are going to get cut that would be decent depth somewhere else.............

With Ola hurt I can’t see him not making the 53 man. It’s not like we haven’t had two pass OLB from the same small school before. I.e. porter and Haggens

Chick seems like a really well-liked guy. I seem to see him always involved in local charity and he's always rooting on his teammates, do you mean just not popular with the fans?

I like Chick, I just I think the experiment should be over because he has underwhelmed considerably IMO. I want a guy that's going to help this team more than anything.

Chick and Dirty Red bring something to special teams but if I had to pick between those two and Skipper and Gilbert I’m taking the latter every time. I honestly feel all four can make the team.

Why would Skipper play almost the entire game today of he is not making the team ? No way for him to fly under the radar and sneak him onto the practice squad after his preseason and tnights great game.

Did anyone catch how many special teams plays he had tonight?

Yes, 2 special teams tackles, a sack / forced fumble, and at least 2 more QB pressures.
