Colts May Be Interested iIn Dobbs

This! I can't believe people are advocating getting rid of Rudolph for an unknown (I don't care where the draft pick is). It's a small sample size, but he's shown he can be this team's next QB when Ben hangs 'em up. And he has incredible chemistry with another potential star, James Washington.

Hold on, Steelworth...

I don't 'want to' trade Rudolph - my opinion is purely based on 'team need' and the 'imaginary trade scenarios'. If the Colts come begging and offer a 2 or 3, with or without a TE---we'd be foolish not to consider the trade.

Not that we have a chance at any of the blue chip QB's coming out next year (since we're picking at 32); but the QB class is going to be loaded.

I want to correct my earlier assumption that we don't have a 2nd in the upcoming draft (it's a 3rd) - soooooooo, getting that pick back would be a positive return, IMHO...

If the Colts were to offer a 1st for Rudolph, would we be foolish to not accept?

1) Rudolph would have to beat out Brisset for the starter role,
2) If Rudolph did do that, would the Colts suddenly have a lower first round pick? Consider that Rudolph's not exactly gained a lot of play time in regular season games.

Vegas has the Colts winning between 8-6 games this year. That would be at the tail end of the top 10 or just outside. Which could be an impact, franchise player.
And that wold be what I'd ask from the Colts - their 1st round pick next year.

Rudolph isn't getting traded unless we are overwhelmed with an offer we can't refuse. I just don't see that happening for us.

Me too, Ark...

I will root for the kid, but to think he's better than Dobbs (hate to remind everyone that Ben was the #3 his first year when we lost two QB's early) - I don't see Hodges in the same light as Ben (the 11th pick in the 1st round).

JMO

So because he’s not Ben, he’s not better than Dobbs? I think if Hodges had attended an SEC school, he’d have been drafted a lot sooner than where Dobbs was drafted.

Considering we got a 3rd and a 5th for the greatest receiver of the past decade, would be hard to pass up a 1st for a guy who hasn't even started an NFL game. So yeah, a 1st round pick is a game changer.... especially one that may end up a top 10 pick.

Bridgewater played for the Jets and Vikings two teams that had defensive-minded head coaches at the time and were not great at developing a quarterback. Now that he's had some time with Sean Payton and then give him Frank Reich and I think he'd be okay.

Yes defensive coaches and teams. He’s a game manager that literally can’t throw the ball 10+ yards. The only thing he has over Dobbs is the fact he can it the shallow crossing route.

to be fair, AB's got a lot less future career ahead of him than Rudolph does, though.

He has only played against lesser talent. There is no denying that.

If ifs and buts were candies and nuts we'd have a hell of a merry Christmas.

If you want to play the "if" game, how do you know if Hodges had played in the SEC or top tier FCS conference school, he'd have similar stats as he did at Samford.

Last QB to win SoCon offensive player of the year was Jacob Huesman. He won it in 2014 and 2015 Listed as FB for Giants on NFL.com, but I don't think he is actually in the NFL, now. No stats listed.

Colts are looking at Brock Osweiler....This should have been done

Maybe but it depends on how they view his upside... if they really feel he is 1st round talented and only fell due to the glut of qbs that round and the track record of qbs from his college then absolutely in no way shape or form do you deal him...

1st rounders have about a 50% historical bust rate... higher for qb’s... you don’t want to be the team that deals the next brett favre because he is backlogged... again it depends on how they feel his upside is... if he is going to be a laundry jones type pure 2... then a first is great. If he is going to be a starter type then a first isn’t enough. If he might be a franchise guy then he doesn’t get dealt period.

The only reason we are even contemplating dealing dobbs is cause it looks like he is getting leapfrogged.

Eagles signed Josh McCown a little while ago. I can't believe he is still in the NFL.

Kapernick? HAHAHAHA
