Hi guys,

Here's a link to the play showing what happened to Davis' ankle.

https://Invalid Link - Check SN Hom...sean-davis-bud-dupree-injured-against-titans/

If you watch the GIF, watch his left foot. He goes to the ground and his cleats dig into the ground and his shin is flat. He gets bent back over his shin, but since his foot is stuck, the torque is on his ankle and it everts. Since his foot bends outward, this motion creates a high ankle sprain.

I can't speak to the severity of the sprain, but it looks to me like nothing popped. Just an eversion as he comes up on his toes. I'm hoping for the best, and off this glance, I'd estimate 2-4wks.

Kelly Kameron is better. Not that I wish injury on any player, but sometimes they prove an opportunity for another player to step in and make the team better. I believe this will be the case as Davis misses to many tackles. Doesn’t cover well and makes few plays on the ball.

If Davis is our 2-4 weeks Allen makes the initial team.

Do you even watch this team? It's KAMERON KELLY. JFC.

Kelly is too new and I don't put ANY stock whatsoever in preseason performance. Too many times I've seen the Steelers look amazeballs only to see them limp out to the regular season.

it's crazy to suggest that a newb is going to outplay a entrenched veteran with several years of 'actual' games under his belt.

To be fair, that is how Hilton made the team and went from unknown FA to week 1 starting slot corner.

We didn't draft any safeties, so there was a chance for a FA or UDFA to make this team as a safety. KK is that guy. Marcus Allen regressing also helped KK's stock. I don't think the Steelers will keep 5 safeties since 3 corners can play dime safety, so Marcus Allen is probably out, and Dangerfield finally gets some respect!!

I think Davis is adequate at his position. Could we use an upgrade? Perhaps, but it's not dire at this point. See how things go with the rest of the upgrades. Kelly should be solid depth, no doubt.

Dangerfield also looked pretty good on ST's yesterday.

I am actually in shock as Coach doesn't care for players with soso 40s. Then I thought about his dislike for Davis and he couldn't sway away from that agenda.

You are too kind. Davis is a weak link. Kameron Kelly has outshined Davis. And he showed last night he could force a fumble.

I’ll take a playmaker over a guy who misses tackles and makes few plays. Kelly has good ball skills.

Davis is faster but he can’t cover. Too often the ball comes his way when he’s yards off the person he’s supposed to be covering.

Sean has an ankle?

These are tough for speed players. Need this to fully heal

Sean Davis has been just OK his whole career, nothing special so..............

You know what, **** it, let's see what's up with this Kameron Kelly kid..Looks like he's got size, has played all over the ******* field, even calls himself a swiss army knife. Dude's a ******* football player

Kameron Kelly, your whole life can change if you can take advantage of this opportunity. He had to fill in for Davis in OTA's, & hey you gotta stay on the field to keep your job...Next man up !!!

Kelly looks promising but we haven't seen him in a regular season game. You can pigeon hole all you want, but it rarely is factual. To say Davis can't cover is down right silly.

My opinion for Davis will be reserved until I actually see him play the same position for 2 years in a row.

You guys have no idea how difficult it is to move positions in the NFL. From Slot corner to SS to FS in 3 years. That's as position flexible as it gets, plus he was trying to make plays, as a rookie to cover for No Play Mitchell. I've never seen a guy be more invisible on a football field than that guy...

during last nights game, Collinsworth said something along the lines of Davis being one of the cornerstones on our defense. Coach- I though of you and wondered if you had a comment on that? other than the fact that it came from Collinsworth..

I haven't read the whole thread, but, since you provided your analysis - here's my rebuttal:

What makes you 'think' that Kameron Kelly is better??? IF KK was better - would not our coaching staff have made the IMMEDIATE decision and started him over Sean Davis (let's just say the last two pre-season games for giggles)???

I want you to WATCH the game up until Davis gets hurt. The kid was never out of position and the entire defense looked in-sync and fast.

Put away your hate for the kid. Your original assessment of him has be noted as WRONG. Move on.

Now, back to the ankle injury - I pray that it's just a sprain and not the (not gonna say it). #38 will get some good reps w/ the ones and only get better playing in this system (that he OBVIOUSLY is learning as a new player)...

What ball skills has Kelly shown? He caused a FF. Awesome. Like the player for sure, but he didn’t recover the fumble. Davis has a FR, with limited snaps and the same amount of tackles as Kam. Not mention Davis was taken out by friendly fire Kam on a shared tackle. Plus in yourown admission Davis is faster....your end all evaluation method.

More agenda diatribes from the clueless Dumb ***.

Davis can’t cover well.

We have not seen Kelly in an NFL game yet, but it’s clear he had a better camp and pre-Season than Davis has had for his tenure as a Steeler.

Outside of asking him to play cover 3, he should be an upgrade over Sean “ I miss tackles and seldom make plays in the ball “ Davis.

With our pass rush the DB’s should be getting more interceptions! I predict they will this year.
