Joe Haden remains optimistic he'll get a new deal with the Steelers. But a move to safety eventually? He's not so sure about that.

Hopefully it gets done. It has been talked about all off-season.

The way we draft corners, we need to back up the truck for Haden...

You just worry about giving him a longer contract because he's going to drop off in skill eventually and usually when that happens for corners is a dramatic drop off. With that, you don't want to have dead cap space when he's cut like we have now cause of AB.

I just realized he's 31 years old already. Like you said, the speed and skills can drop off a cliff.

We're tight, but redoing Haden shouldn't effect it much. He already counts nearly $12M against it, so pushing that number won't change it much.

Haden contract not likely to happen anytime soon. Drew Rosenhaus is too busy shopping for helmets.

Don't even think its a helmet issue anymore. Seriously don't think he wants to play.

in a sense, yes. Haden may have a couple good years left, but we have to work a contract around his age.
He's 30 now. What's the drop-off age for CBs?

yeah, he can't possibly maintain at this age and slowing down. He's good, but he's not Darrell Green

Hard to understand anything about the dude's intentions as he is all over the place with his decisions. Actions speak louder than words. We just can't conclude what he is trying to say.
He is teaching his kids a new alphabet though...... It goes like this....... A,B,C,T,E, F,U,G ..... that as far as it goes for now....... more to follow , I am sure

I'd say a 2yr extension is about as good as you can do.

Agree. He apparently loves Pittsburgh, buying a home in the city, loves the team and his teammates and isn't listening to other potential offers for leverage. Like you mentioned, the way they draft corners, keep this guy around for a while.

Moving forward, I think Tombert's best plan is to sign FA's and trade for corners from other teams since they can't draft jack **** for CB's themselves.
Our best DB came from the Browns, how bad is that?

Whachoo talkin about? Justin Gilbert sucked!!!

Lolz...

He said our best corner not corners. Which would be Haden.
