The battle for the Steelers' starting right tackle job has not materialized at training camp. The job has been Matt Feiler's all along.

We have some pretty impressive depth on the O-line. Even Fred Johnson has been looking good.

.i feel sure that chuks takes over by midseason.

I thought Feiler did an acceptable job last season. Not surprised Gilbert was traded, he was out hurt too much the last two years.

He did. From what i have read he has continued that in camp. Credit to his hsrd work, patience and the old and new OL coach

Towards the end, a more than acceptable job. It is this guy's job to lose in my opinion.

Not so sure Ark. They are giving Chukes looks at LT as well. I dont think they would do that if he still had a chance to unseat Feiler.

You could be right. I think they saw and still see a lot of talent in Chuks and didn't expect Fieler to develop to starter and just trying to find a way for Chuks to be on the field.

Frankly, l'd just as soon they not worry about bringing in another TE and just use Chuks as the blocking TE. I think they did that last year, when Fieler had to step in.

Or you could say "3rd rounder can't beat out undrafted player!".

ark, I was in this boat as well but to many reports of Feiler doing to dang good. Chuks will be great depth if that is how it turns out. I can throw you a life line if you need but have faith as your water wings are blown up tight and you should make the swim across..........lol

Things can change but it is nice to see a player reap the rewards of their off-season work.

If Hawkins makes the 53, it will be at depth and we need those kind of players too. TC sorts a lot of the ?s out and REALLY shows offseason work and dedication, especialy in today's "year round" NFL.
