I've been calling for bubbles chewey cheeks for awhile now. What kind of message are you sending by keeping him on board? Ranked 27th in the league. Every team has ST players and their caliber isn't that wide spread form one team to the next so STs is more about coaching and calling the right play / ability to execute. I see to many FLUBS to think it's all player problem when in reality it's how the players are coached. Out of Town / Rail / Ride him....... Don't give a **** about the order but adhere to all three when it comes to Danny Boy.

PS The ONLY saving grace factor for Danny is if he is getting the indication from his boss (CMVLT) that he is doing an OK job. Keeping him on is that indication.

Salute the nation

Found this when arguing with the Tomlin fanboys in a Steelers FB group. Boz isn't the only ST problem, we are dead last in punt coverage, although somehow kickoff coverage isn't that bad, but number one in Special Teams penalty yards.

Coverage is a part of the game fans normally forget about. Losing Burhe in Sept was a big blow to the coverage teams. It looks like we drafted a lot of ST players this year. Hopefully they will be a lot better.

Over the last several years....

I actually found myself cringing.... every time our "special" teams take the field...

It isn't the coaches fault. He isn't teaching them to commit penalties. He isn't responsible for what players do on the field. Damn you guy always want to fire coaches for what the players are doing!!

If I was in charge of SP it would go like this. The kickoff looks like it will land between the 5 and the goal line, return. Anything deeper knee. If you don't you are out. Period.

Besides getting rid of shades' besty paddy-wagon porter, the Steelers have done nothing to address glaring concerns that exist on this team. Guess we should hold out hope that our double secret red flag caller, insert new guy here, is gonna challenge run-backs to the Steeler 31. And win. Ah but new season right? Hope springs eternal.

Who are you thinking? Sutton comes to mind for a possible candidate.

See who you think can throw their name into the hat............

We have a lot of interesting options. I think every D player drafted this year can play ST. Layne, Ulysses, Sutton, Buggs. They picked up Holton, who was good at kick coverage, but he'd have to beat out Washington. Not sure if Snell is a coverage option, but Sutton is fast and loves to hit. Pair that with Matakevich, Nix, Ola/Chick, and Cam Sutton, and you have some talent out there. Not sure if they're going to continue to use Edmunds on ST, since he's the starter now, but he played a ton last year.
