The Official Thread Dedicated to "Trump Winning"

On This Day In History

The day Trump ran for president

_107363507_gettyimages-477321340.jpg

What they said in 2015

"Donald Trump is actually running for president," our North America reporter Anthony Zurcher wrote. "Few people expected it to happen - he's gone through the motions many times before - and his political rants up until now have been roundly derided as a joke. But this time he actually said the words, and he seems like he means it...

"He's already proven a willingness to take swings at his opponents. Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio 'don't have a clue', he said in his announcement speech.

Jeb Bush would win the nomination - Polls

On the day Mr Trump entered the race, polling data painted a fairly bleak picture for him. He was languishing towards the bottom of the pack with 3.6% of support, according to a RealClearPolitics average of polls.

Leading the field on 10.8% was former Florida governor Jeb Bush, ahead of Wisconsin's then-governor Scott Walker (yes, really).

Mr Trump's average in the polls would dip to 3.2% on 22 June 2015, but that would prove to be his lowest ebb. From that point onwards, his rise was meteoric.

His approval rating spiked on 12 July 2015, when he accused Mexicans of "killing us at the border" at a mass rally in Phoenix.

Eight days later, he overtook Mr Bush, his polling average climbing to 16.8%. After that, only Ben Carson would surpass him - once on 5 November 2015 - until his nomination was confirmed.

What do the polls say now?

It's only the Democrats picking a candidate this time around and so far, their race has been dominated by one name: former US Vice-President Joe Biden.

He has been the runaway leader for the nomination, even before entering the race on 25 April this year. As of 12 June, his polling average, according to RealClearPolitics, puts him top at 32.8%.

Vermont senator Bernie Sanders is his closest competitor on 17.3%, while the rest of the pack - including Elizabeth Warren (9.2%), Pete Buttigieg (7.2%) and Kamala Harris (7.2%) - trail in single digits.

Those ratings are likely to fluctuate as candidates lock horns in Democratic primary debates starting on 26 June. As Mr Trump's unexpected ascendancy in the 2016 race shows though, it's still too early to make any sensible predictions...

“Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio ‘don’t have a clue’, he said in his announcement speech.”

And he was right. Thus it began. They didn't know what hit them....lololololol

Trump pulled off the biggest upset in US political history!

Bush and Rubio made the same mistake. I listened to Bush give a speech in Florida (I think) and he talked about how we don't need a wall and that illegal aliens weren't a big deal. Career over... Rubio joined the gang of 8 with McCain... Game over. Nobody was going to win the nomination with that platform.

They either don't realize how stupid they sound, or they think the general public is just that stupid. Here is some CNN clown explaining that it is perfectly acceptable for campaigns to pay foreigners for information on their opponents. However, when you listen to unsolicited info from a foreigner about an opponent, then it's a crime. Ah, yeah.

The Dems /Pravda media feel it is perfectly fine to change the rules to suit their agenda. Perfect example is Nadler today, versus during the Clinton trials. Can't release the redacted them but must do it now. The Pravda media provides them with cover. The liberal lemmings nod in bovine approval.

A perfect example of media spin.

What a slimy, condescending rat that rep Johnson from Georgia is.

Hamy...they are in too deep now and there is very little they can do...... the Dims I'm talkin' about. I don't think these Dimwits know what they are walkin' into.

I hope that the House of Representatives impeaches Trump. Let me tell you what will happen next.

1. The House can pass articles of impeachment over the objections of the Republicans, and refer to the Senate for trial.

2. The Senate will conduct a trial. There will be a vote, and the Republicans will vote unanimously, along with a small number of Democrats, to not convict the President. Legally, it will all be over at that point.

3. However, during the trial, and this is what no one is thinking about right now, the President's attorneys will have the right to subpoena and question ANYONE THAT THEY WANT.. That is different than the special counsel investigation, which was very one-sided. So, during the impeachment trial, we will be hearing testimony from James Comey, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Bruce Ohr, Glenn Simpson, Donna Brazille, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, Christopher Steele, Hillary Clinton, John Brennan, James Clapper, and a whole host of other participants in this whole sordid affair and the ensuing coverup activities. A lot of dirt will be dug up; a lot of truth will be unveiled. Finger pointing will occur. Deals will start being made, and suddenly, a lot of democrats will start being charged and going to prison. All this, because, remember, the President's team will now, for the first time, have the RIGHT to question all of these people under oath - and they will turn on each other.

That’s already starting.

4. Lastly, one more thing will happen – the Senate will not convict the President. Nothing will happen to Trump. Most Americans are clueless about political processes, the law, and the Constitution. Most Americans believe that being impeached results in removal from office They don't understand that phase 2 is a trial in and by the Senate, where he has zero chance of conviction. Remember, the Senate is controlled by Republicans; they will determine what testimony is allowed -- and **everything** will be allowed, including: DNC collusion with the Clinton campaign to fix the election in favor of Hillary, the creation of the Trump dossier, the cover up and destruction of emails that very likely included incriminating information. They’ll incriminate each other for lying to the FISA court, for spying and wiretapping the Trump campaign, and for colluding with foreign political actors, especially Unka George Soros. After the Senate declines to convict the President, we will have an election, and Trump will win. It will be a backlash against democrat petulance, temper tantrums, hypocrisy and dishonesty. Even minorities will vote for Trump, because, for the first time, they will see that democrats have spent 2+ years focused on maintaining their own power, and not doing anything at all about black murders in Chicago, homelessness, opioids, and other important issues that are actually killing people. And, we will spend the following four years listening to politicians and pundits claim that the whole impeachment was rigged somehow.

5. Unka George will put Tibsy back on the Indoctrination Cruise for his failing to make any progress in the destruction of America.

Yeah, the president's lawyers will get a lot of 5th amendment answers.

I don’t know why the pic is small and upside down. I don’t have time to **** with it right now.

People started lining up for the rally 40 hours in advance. Beat that, Creepy Joe...

Joe's rally was so massive that (D)ims had to move it ... from an auditorium to a hallway, to hide the tiny number of attendees.

For the frontrunner in the polls, Joe Biden wasn't able to attract a very impressive crowd for his campaign's kickoff rally. Speaking to a crowd of "hundreds" ...

Meanwhile, at the next Biden rally ...

Yeah, he's the safe bet, the old fart still hanging around kissing babies (and anything else that moves). Sure, the country can do worse than Biden, but there's so much talent in the field, and the enthusiasm is obviously elsewhere, for other candidates. It'd be rather anticlimactic to have Biden be the guy. Ho hum. I think the general sentiment is whoever the **** it is, this time everyone will rally around the Dem candidate to rid the nation of the orange-faced parasite.

It's still early, very early. We'll see were the Dems are in a few months time.

The democrats don't "rally" for anything. If they don't get their way, they cry like babies and protest.

None of the candidates have any "talent". Maybe some of the fringe guys you like do, but to say the big 5: Biden, Pocahontas, Marxist Bernie, Slept-to-the-top Kamala or Spartacus have "talent" is a stretch of the wildest proportions. I can't think of 5 worse candidates in my life right now for democrats.

And they (and their supporters) will eat each other alive.

Last I heard Buttplug was a lot higher than Spartacus. But I agree, I hope it's one of those lunatics. Then Trump can make all about Capitalism vs. Socialism. Slam dunk landslide win.

All I have heard from any of them is more taxes to pay for their utopia. Free stuff for everyone, except those that actually paid for it!!

I laugh at the nicknames of the"elite" of the Dem Party. What makes it funnier, is that each have earned them, through hard work and dumbassery.

no matter who wins the DNC, their platform will be "Small tax increases will pay for free _________"

Biden running out to a pretty substantial lead shows how bad the other candidates are. Biden is a lying plagiarist who has spent his entire life in D.C., and has become a millionaire in the process, and he is pummeling the endless list of languids that constitutes the other candidates.

So which candidate is going to inspire the party? Harris, the ultimate "me too, except I wanted to and was paid a bunch of money for the pleasure" candidate? Yeah, no. Beto? He has already disappeared. Warren and the Indians? Buttplug?

None of those candidates is worth a thimble of warm spit.
