I went to a Pirates Game there in 2014 with my Dad. I had a blast. I wore my Packer shirt and everyone was very welcoming and down to earth. I remember we stayed overnight in the rough part of town just in the suburbs. Your city is awesome. I love how the Stadiums are right on the Ohio River or close to it. I hope to get back there someday. Heinz field and Pirates stadium are gorgeous. It was a confusing city to find your way around being from the Midwest. I hope the Steelers have a great season, love you all.

Part of downtown can be confusing, you can get lost easily. When your in town again let us know. Give you some tips on some things to see, places to go.

But yeah the rivers is definitely one nice look. Pirates stadium is nice as ever, and some good eats to experience..........

I remember we ate at a cool restaurant right across the stadium. We sat outside and people watched. They had Awesome Hamburgers and fries. I can't remember the name of the street but it went on forever. We were trying to find the main drag to leave town and we drove on this city street for miles. Anyone know which street I'm talking about?

North Shore Drive?

Yea - it is a great town. I live in a small town in the south now, but I have lived or spent significant time in a lot of cities all over the world. I dislike most cities, but Pittsburgh is one of the few I could easily live in. I've always wanted to visit GB but never had the chance (although I have been in all your division rival cities - go figure). Packers have always been my NFC team to root for. Hope y'all have a great season!

If you're staying between the airport and the city, check out the airport flyer bus route. Super cheap and just uber around the city to get places.

In my personal view, It's the GREATEST city I 've been in or ever will be in. I have traveled many different cities and can't even imagine nothing but PITTSBUGH. So many places to see and do, I loved how on Saturday night before a steelers game BOTH stadiums would be lit up and you could see them from up the incline I think it was Washington street, could walk it it get great City skyline views and look down into the stadiums. LOTS more things but that's just one of my favorites. Blessings to all.

Salute the nation

Very underrated overall. The place is awesome.

U can literally park in the main garage by the stadium and get on 279 from it.

The topography makes it that way with all the hills and rivers. Ain't no such thing as a grid system here. Also many of the streets are one-way, meaning you can't get back from somewhere the same way you got there.

Yep, can remember as a teenager, after seeing a show at say the Civic Arena, then desperately trying to find the Parkway East, only to end up going through the Liberty Tubes.

Looking very hard at Steelers Bengals end of September. Booked Cambria Downtown and air fare is cheap. Buddy is just dragging feet. There may be three of us. Is it worth renting a car or is parking downtown just to ridiculously expensive.

great town
im excited that i will be visiting in mid july for a couple days
my wife and i are taking another couple that have never been there. it will be our 5th time doing this
its tough trying to figure out what to show them in 2 and 1/2 days.............

Parking right next to Point State Park is $25, but there are lots downtown at $10 or less.

Pittsburgh is my favorite town period. I'd move back if i could convince my tribe to go and it was economically feasible to do so.

Cambria-i think you can take the T from the north shore to steel plaza. And vice versa. Thats a bit uphill from there but it's like a half mile or so to the Cambria. On the way is all downhill.

26X express bus to downtown and calling an uber to the hotel probably cheapest way if you dont rent a car. Uber about 40 bux each way to hotel. Significantly more after a game or sometimes early in AM. No idea what parking costs but renting a car is so 2010. There's 100% all day uber coverage usually within 5-10 minutes or less.

never heard of it but i just looked it up and its the week after we are going

dang, it might be packed but it sounds like something i would like

Stumbled onto a new place on Saturday. Threadbare Cider House on Spring Garden Avenue on the North Side. Besides a variety of, ahem, ''potent'' ciders, their pizza is awesome. Anybody can walk in but you can make a reservation for a tour that includes samples. Ask to be on Aaron's (Ron Jr.'s) tour. Hopped cider and oak barrel cider are awesome. Owned by Wigle Whiskey.
