Seems like Gay was like another coach on the field during the decline of our defense, and secondary in particular. Maybe we should try some nerdy non-ex-players as coaches for a change.

I think given the opportunity, William Gay makes a better coach than Joey Porter ever did. I just hope W.Gay doesn't become all "get away with everything" type friend of CMVLT and represents the STEELERS organization well as I know he will.

Will Gay was still a bright spot on that declining defense, and there are plenty of other reasons why that defense declined. The fact that he was actually better in his second stint with the Steelers (as a CB) shows how it was mind over matter/body for him.

I hear you. He was the best of the worst, but I would like to see a coach not associated with a Tomlin **** show. It's a vortex of Tomlin mediocrity.
Yep, cause the NFL certainly lacks diversity. Glad to see the downtrodden ex-NFL players given a fair chance at life after football. Life is tough enough without the social victims getting excluded from the rewards of their past sacrifices.
Gay was one of the best zone corners we've ever had.

I know he was never #1 in my mind, and the Steelers jettisoned him off to Pitt West at one point in time....but he did garner the stupidest celebration awards...hands down.
