Sick of threads where the starters won't answer your questions? Not here. All questions answered.

PS, I'm actually not drinking tonight. Just Watermelon and Peach bubly. I hurt my knee and I'm on drugs...

Hey Cope, name a surprise cut this year as rosters get pared down to 55. Artie Burns doesn't count, as the writing's on the wall w him. Hope your knee feels better.

Is the writing on the wall for Artie Burns.............. What if he shows improvement and spark???? What if they don't cut him before the $800Gs??? Do you see Artie on the 53man roster..........sorry but many have written him off and I think this is his final straw chance as they pay the $800Gs and he goes to camp and makes the 53. What say Ye???

Thanks Tibs. I'm eyeing June 17th for my hockey comeback game.

Cut wise, when you get surprises, it's usually underperforming stars that are paid too much.

I think both kickers are in open competition. So we could lose Boz or Barry depending on competition this year. Boz would be the biggest money cut.

Here's a couple possible surprises:
Dupree - If Ola shows he's starter capable, and if Dupree has a setback
James Washington - there is a lot of competition at WR, and if he didn't improve, he will lose his spot.

Dobbs may be a trade option, but that's all I see for known players moving.

I agree w you on Burns, he probably deserves another shot based on physical attributes alone. You never know if the light will still come on w him, he has plenty of tools to be a decent corner. Just been reading lately people musing on them possibly cutting him. Didn't want to give Cope an easy out on the question, that's why I mentioned him.

Hey DIC!

I wrote in another thread. Burns has all the potential, and if he improves between the ears, he has a shot. He will not get a 5th year option unless he becomes a quality starter, and right now that is an uphill battle. I think he will be in camp, and has a shot to make the roster, but if he doesn't improve, he will not be on the roster against the PAts.

Will we have to IR you for the year or are you just a designated IR??

No IR for me. It's a mild MCL sprain. Should be good to go in 1-3 weeks, but as I'm feeling fantastic today, proabably closer to 1 week. I'm aiming for a June 17th comeback on the rink.

I'm with you, I keep him for camp on potential alone.

Cope, do you see "shades" taking a step up in his COACHING department. I mean we always say players must step up but never (or not very much)say it in coaching. I think CMVLT does take a step up due to ownership laying it out at end of last season. I never seen Tomlin so "wide" eyed before in several of his interviews.

I see TEAM / Player(s) / and Tomlin himself taking a mid-sized step up. Your thoughts?????

Who is the starting RT, week 1? I think Chuks Okorafor winds up as the starter, and Feiler a reserve at two positions.

Who do you like as the backup RB in 2019? I like Samuels over Snell, due in large part to his week 15 performance. Also, the biggest improvement in RB's seems to be season 1 to 2, with significant improvement in pass protection, hot reads, figuring out whom to block.

I think this is a big year for Tomlin. We got rid of AB and Bell. No more big distractions in the locker room. If that translates to more wins and a deep playoff run, it's a win. If the Steelers don't make the playoffs, I think his time in Pit could be coming to an end.

why are you such a *****...booze and prescription drugs is an awesome match

After my surgeries back in 2012 that was the only way I could get to sleep. 8 to 10 Vicodins a day and bunch of shots of Jack at night.

We've seen Tomlin's best and the last two years were it. They did little in the off-season to help the defense (like firing Butler and most of the coaches) and rookies rarely make an impact. I can handle another season with no playoffs if it means that Shades gets on with his life's work.

Know what I call shots at night before bed? No, really, I'm asking because after my shots, I don't remember a thing.

Don't sleep on Hawkins. He was in line to be next man up last year before injuring himself for the year. If he's back to his pre injury form, he may be starting week 1.

I love Samuels. He's the best receiver we have out of the backfield, is a decent blocker as he improved as the year went on, and also showed he could handle the full time duties if needed. Not bad for turning a skat back into a full time RB for the first time in his career, last year.

This year, I only see Snell in situational short yardage or goalline back.
