DB's taken in Tomlin-Colbert era

It's hard to know if the issue is poor drafting or incompetent coaching...

Given CMLVT's history... I would be less critical of the draft choices personally.

I hate to keep blasting Tomlin but I’m struggling to see what he really excels at. Hell, prior to Tomlin when be drafted DBs in the later rounds we never had this failure rate.
As far as Carnell Lake, very good player but not so good coach. It just doesn’t always translate that being a good player or even a great player means great coach. Exception Michael Munchack.
Come on guys, tell me these DBs don’t look confused out there. I think Tomlin has done a great job of screwing up this defense.

Keanin Lewis was alright he needed to play more press he chose being close to home over the org, we and the saints were willing to give both the cash he wanted. Doran Grant who on tape looked like a young McFadden stunk that he could not beat out 3rd stringers. I think the later half faulted as when lebeau left MT started to implement more cover 2 and none of the CB's drafted were fits for cover 2, Still can remember me throwing a coffee mug after Jackson was taken and we took burns over Howard

We can debate Lewis, on if he was a good pick or not (he had one semi OK year in Pitt). But there are 12 other total bums on that list compared to one decent pick (Gay). The #'s shout incompetence. They scream it.

I could do better drafting by looking up stuff online, no travel needed, and I surely could do better than that.

Cooch couldn't stay away for even a little while.

Golson was so over hyped small ball hawk that will solidify the nickel spot was built of for the position fast can bwat passes, jump routes but it turned out he was made of fine china as every camp he was hurt until the 3rd time hurt cut.

That one was painful, as was Burns. Brown too.

could it be budding heads with lebeau of wanting to bring cover 2 guys and lebeau wanting to keep his heavy zone 10 yards off system. we wont let u beat us deep but you can have 6 yds free every 1st down.

Allen had some solid moments, I think injuries derailed him. Not to get in boobies way of trashing the players.

Keenan Lewis, your " crap in a toilet", parlayed his time here in Pittsburgh into a nice FA contract with the Saints. You don't know your own material.

Yes and the Steelers let him walk to easily. Tomlin didn't like Lewis who once punched a hold in a glass container in the locker room. But he was a good player and solid 3rd round pick.

If you have facts or proof, okay say so. I only post as coach. You should know this. But press on, its amusing how things like this can get in your head. As I said in my return post, I am going to change habits a bit as a poster here.

Agree. What the hell is Tomlin good at? I always hear that he's a great motivator. Is he really? I don't see it. We can't even beat the chump teams that we are supposed to beat. Not to mention the every season locker room fiascos.
Before anybody asks, no, I don't know who I'd replace him with, but I'd be looking.

He's good at witty quips....that end up being meaningless. Give me coaches who barely speak but know how to get the job done 1,000 times over clowns who give you snappy comebacks but provide no real leadership and accountability.
