Hey guys,

Hope you enjoyed the draft. I'm enjoying my first night in 3 weeks where I'm not working on something...

How did yinz feel about the draft?

Has Coach IM you pleading his case that “he was one off the bet and should be allowed back”?

Real question here Cope. Which team decision had the most impact on Colbert moving up...OAK selecting Ferrill with their first pick or Gettleman getting antsy and picking Jones instead of Allen?

No, he was positioning before he left. He knew he was wrong, and Oliver was a top 10, so he was trying to make prop bets with everyone. Dude made the bet, and we held him to it. If not, he never would have remembered making the bet.

so what is the biggest camp position battle this fall?

We've got a few. Z receiver is wide open, and you have Moncrief and Washington battling for it.

Second TE will be a battle, since we don't really have one now...

I think the competition between Rudolf and Dobbs will heat up this year.

Kick returner may go to Dionte Johnson instead of Switzer. He's more explosive.

I'd like to see Ola push for playing time or at least push Durpee into being something. DBs are set, but I'd like to see if Burns shows any heart this training Camp.

Kickers are all up for grabs IMHO, but we do know the punter's last name will start with Berry...

I think this decision was made from last year. The team did try to move up and grab LVE. Dallas didn't want to move, and took him, Steelers couldn't get higher. So they lost their playmaking ILB and the team suffered and missed the playoffs. This year, they weren't going to make that mistake twice, and moved up into the top 10 to get their guy. I love the pick, I love the move, and I'm glad they had the balls to do it. Nothing will help this D more than having a playmaking ILB. It will make everyone better.

I'm drinking Antwerp Stout tonight. Had some killer Game of Thrones beers on Sunday. Wife got me the 4 pack with Mother of Dragons, King of the North, Hand of the Queen, and Queen of the Seven Kingdoms from Ommegang. Also had White Walker from Jonny Walker and House Tulley Scotch. There were 8 houses that did a family inspired scotch. Tulley was the only one I saw on the shelves.

Hey Cope, there are a couple people here who are underwhelmed by the Devin Bush pick (and they have solid reasoning in his tape against OSU, PSU etc.) Does that concern you at all and is there something specific you'd like to see him working on immediately?

Oh, and I like the hell outta this. Hope to see stuff like this a lot more in his future:

I agree with this, but i think it was Evans they were trying to get. Maybe. both.

Either way. It made them work harder for it this year.

I wonder what the deal is with Mack Wilson's fall?

Cope, I just want to say how KEWL this ask drunk Cope is. Lot of great discussion(s).

Whom of the UDFA that we signed do you think A0 will make the team and B) have the biggest impact?

Also we are having snow up here (upper Midwest) and when can I expect it to quit and be able to plant garden???

Salute the nation

when Drink Iron City sucked the poison out of slashsteel's dick, did he swallow the poison or spit it out?
Coolie would like the video

I love the pick. This D works with athletic players in the middle. Timmons, Polamalu, Shazier. You get speed inside, and you are disruptive. Now his size concerns are valid. The same was said about Shazier. Heck I thought they would move him to SS, but he became a stud ILB. Bush will be able to cover athletic TEs and RBs. That's been our weakness for the past 3 years, so that should make a lot of fans excited. The guy also plays with power and thump. I think he will gradually add some weight, but maintain his quickness. If he can go sideline to rundown Saquan when he's open, he can run down anyone in this league.

It has to be an off field issue, or something teams didn't like when they interviewed him. Something will eventually come out to clue us all in, but I agree, that was unexpected.

Wow, still snowin' up dere, Eh? We're hitting May tomorrow, so I'd say check the overnight temps, because after this thaw, you should be in the clear.

I'd say all 3 ST positions are a possibility. Berryman, Woods, and Wright will all get long looks

Steelers also liked Askew-Henry and met with him pre draft. Since they didn't draft any Safeties, he's got a shot, if he shows something.

Cope how did we get Lane in the 3rd? I'm reading up on him and he was highly ranked

Del and TMC would both tell you, drafts have runs on positions. Some teams like players for different reasons. Steelers like Corners that can tackle and play both zone and man. From what I saw on Lane, he's a playmaker. His INTs are athletic, and he reacts and plays the ball cleanly when he defends. He's not a clutch and grab guy. Honestly though, I'm hoping for just one CB to pan out. We haven't had one since what? Ike??

I was just surprised that Lane has size, usually we're drafting sub 6' guys...

Must be a Houston guy? Tell us a bit about him Coolie. What do you like about him? What's his size? I'm sure you've seen him play more than anyone here.

Alexander Myres/CB Houston

Height: 5110
Weight: 192
40 Yrd Dash: 4.53
20 Yrd Dash: 2.62
10 Yrd Dash: 1.56
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 14
Vertical Jump: 36 1/2
Broad Jump: 10’10”
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.18
3-Cone Drill: 7.07

decent player, figured he would go undrafted. had something like 55 tackles last season with 1 pick and 7 or 8 passes defended. was a solid special teams player

nice to see him get a chance but I would have preferred to see Garrett Davis signed, I think he could have won a spot on the team.

Myers has a chance to stick especially if he can flourish on special teams

he did return a blocked field goal 90 yards for a TD as a junior
