Interesting nuggets from Peter King on the Steelers move to #10:

- Outbid Atlanta & the Giants to go from 20 to 10.
- If Broncos didn't move, they were taking Devin Bush
- Colbert refused to give up 2020 1st

Thanks Coolie, the STEELERS were very determined to improve our GLARING weakness. I'm pretty sure we have the player to improve it as well.

Hope he was worth that 2nd round pick. I honestly think we got a great player and leader for our D. Time will tell.

People who always cry "move up, move up", don't realize it doesn't happen in a vacuum. When a team makes it known that they're willing to trade down, there's usually competition. They're not going to bend over, and tell the Steelers, or whoever else is interested, to stick it in. They're going to try to get the best deal they can. If the Steelers want the pick, they have to pay. Likewise, when the Steelers are open to moving down, the other team has to be willing to pay. There may have been many times where the team with the high pick just asks too much, and the Steelers stood pat. Conversely, other teams may have offered us crap to move up, and we declined that as well. We made a move this year, and folks are crying about a second round pick. You have to pay to play!

But wait...............didn't someone say that he would still be there at 20?

NOT a chance in hell, bungles were next on the clock....................................

The Broncos were really going to take Bush if the Steelers didn't trade up? Why give up the top guy on their board?

Because Peter King is never wrong. Even though the coach said this:

“I don’t know if we would have taken him if we didn’t trade,” head coach Vic Fangio said. “He was certainly one of the guys we talked about, but we just felt the trade value trumped the guy we would get there.”

The reality is Denver has two decent ILB's so the position wasn't a huge need, so they traded back with the idea that their more important needs would be filled with the extra pick they received plus the 20th.

The Broncos may have said that logic to the STEELERS to get them to bite but the reality of the matter was the bungles were next up and their highest need was LB.................... Do the math and you'll see the reasoning for us moving up.

It's fairly obvious that the bungles were selecting Bush at #11 if he was there...the Giants and ATL apparently recognized this alongside of the Steelers.

So true! Considering all we really gave up was a 2nd round pick to move up 10 spots to get one of the best players in the draft. I would do that 100 times out of 100.

the Steelers HAD to move up to #10 get him. No other choice for them. They got their man and that's all that matters right now.

I'm ok with the trade. We got what we wanted. The bigger question is what we gave up and the picks we took after.
