I wonder what it would take to trade back up into the middle of the 2nd and grab one of the top corners?

It would cost the rest of this draft and a 4th next year.

I could see us trading Rudolph or Dobbs to Denver and maybe throwing in our 4th.

If they do that they better be sure of who they are selecting. No one player stands out at CB as a sure thing. I could see them using a 3rd and a late round pick to move up 2 or 3 positions at a time to garner someone once they are in close range of where their current pick is now.
After the move in the 1st round I doubt they combine too much on day 2 of the draft for one guy.
Greedy Williams, Byron Murphy are still out there but so are guys like T. Mullens, I. Johnson, L. Johnson, J. Love, N. Adderley, A. Hooker, J. Layne. and Rock

So you can see they still may be able to land guys of value where they sit now

The #40 pick, belonging to Buffalo, has a value of 500 points. The Steelers' two 3rd round picks, numbers 66 and 83, have a combined value of 435 points. The Steelers would have to add their initial 5th round pick (from Oakland), pick number 141, to raise the value to 470 points.

Pretty steep. I hope they use those picks on a CB,WR and TE instead of bagging it all and selecting just one guy in the 2nd round.

Yeah, you are probably right.

Steelers are really going to have to hit on the 3rd round picks.

I would trade our 2nd 3rd round pick & a 5th this year and toss in a 2020 4th

We haven’t had much success in the past.

Steelers drafted Conner in the 3rd - very productive starter.

Steelers drafted Okorafor in the 3rd - looks like a very good pick and a likely starter.

Steelers drafted Hargrave in the 3rd - productive starter.

Steelers drafted Dri Archer in the ... okay, forget it.

But recent drafts show the Steelers have had excellent success with the 3rd round picks.

Well here we are and welcome Justin Layne CB Still scratching my head over the Antonio Brown clone at #66 though. I wish they would have waited on this dude until later rounds and taken a WR with some speed and size for a change, or a TE but time will tell.
