Friday Targets

Best CB available and Boykin or another tall, fast WR with good hands. There should be a few available when we pick. They can get better at route running but the size, speed and good hands are a must.

Murphy is still available ! So is Rapp, Thornhill, & Gardner. And I am high on Boykin too, would be happy with that pick...

WR: Boykin, Isabella
Edge: Winovich
S: Gardner-Johnson, Thornhill
CB: Layne, Bunting, Ya-Sin, Oruwariye

Something like 52 picks from now and Lord knows what will be left.

Some pretty good players are left on the board going in, Taylor, Williams and Metcalf fur shur. We may get lucky and see a Winovich or Johnson still hangin' out but there is abundant talent for some decent mid round picks.

Could Colbert actually pick a good 3rd rounder....I hope, 'cause we got nuthin till then....ouch.

I am looking to trade our 4th to move up and take Greedy or Murphy.
With our 3rd, take the best WR available. My hope is Arceaga or Boykin are available.

If he's on the board when we pick, Winovich would be a stud. Durpee is a walk free agent after this season. OBVIOUSLY WR should be mentioned as well as DB for day two.

I would like to see the Steelers trade to move up to a 2nd round pick or a third 3rd round pick. And make it 4 picks overall in the draft and call it done. DB, WR, TE.

I am surprised they waived Bucky Hodges just before the draft.

Actually, if we stay put, exactly 33 players will be off the board when we pick early in the 3rd. There should be plenty of talent available.

That's why they were able to make the move for Bush. Yes we gave up a good 2nd round pick, but we got our guy and our first 3rd round pick is very early.

With 8 picks remaining, we BETTER be moving back up into the 2nd round.

Trade up and get Greedy, he and Bush add some serious speed to our defense.

Call me crazy - but, I dreamed this very same thing last night!

We have three 6 round picks out of the eight remaining---KNOWING WHAT WE KNOW: we have to face OBJ and the Browns twice, Mr. Big Chest is also on the schedule and a laundry list of good to great WR's...while I still think Baker is the best DB of the bunch, IF we can somehow move up to grab Greedy or Murphy - WATCH OUT!!!

Add in a WR, TE and OLB - game, set, match...

I created this mock on 4/22 - I'm no clairvoyant, believe me, I just had a feeling that we had to move up to get Devin Bush.

Last night, I made the statement that there will still be quality players left (and I think it would be highly unlikely to see us jump up into the second round for Greedy (even though I could hear the angels singing if we did).

Take a look at my projections below - I took the liberty of adding the grades of each player in my OP now.

I just played my final mock on first-pick.com - and made a HUGE TRADE to acquire my target in Round 1.

Your score is: 30802 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 13 (MIA): Devin Bush, OLB/ILB, Michigan (A) - we've said it before and can't say it enough - Devin Bush is the playmaker that our defense needs.
Round 3 Pick 11 (G.B.): Deionte Thompson, FS, Alabama (A+) - Homer pick but Thompson is a ballhawking safety, who will only get better at the NFL level. Write it down. 5.78
Round 4 Pick 12 (G.B.): Jamel Dean, CB, Auburn (A+) - Sigh...I know he played at Auburn but his skillset was too much to pass up w/ this 4th round pick. 5.73
Round 4 Pick 20: Miles Boykin, WR, Notre Dame (A+) - Late pick for our WR needy team. The FO has shown interest and I like him a lot too! 5.69
Round 5 Pick 3: Bobby Evans, OT, Oklahoma (A+) - The departure of Marcus Gilbert makes this a requirement in this draft.
Round 5 Pick 12 (G.B.): Isaac Nauta, TE, Georgia (A) - Nauta is an underrated TE that can come in and easily match the production that Jesse James had. 5.50
Round 6 Pick 2: Shareef Miller, DE, Penn St. (A+) - Miller is a beast off the edge. No question - this is a steal if he's here.
Round 6 Pick 34 (COMP): Travis Homer, RB, Miami (Fla.) (A+) - Florida equates to track speed. We need a change of pace back to add to the arsenal.
Round 7 Pick 5: Hunter Renfrow, WR, Clemson (A+) - More depth and a pass catching demon in the slot.

If that happens, you'll be know as Miss Cleo for now on :)

Media will make you believe anything. There was a lot of prospects linked to Tombert as likes.

But yet there Bush sits, let's see how today transpires.

Since we draft soooo far down this is a hard prediction.

Chase Winovich Edge Michigan
I’d say this might be a pipe dream without our second round pick but if he’s there I think the Steelers run to get their card in. Also, don’t be surprised if the Steelers use one of their 6th round picks to sneak back into the 2nd to take Winovich. My thoughts are they’d want to get ahead of NE.

D’Andre Walker Edge Georgia
I think the Steelers have more than a little interest in improving the pass rush opposite Watt and Walker might have been a higher pick if he could show case his athleticism.

Julian Love CB Notre Dame
Smart player who fits in that cover two system. If there’s not an edge guy the Steelers try to get Hadens replacement for 2020.

Treyvon Mullen CB Clemson
Again a good zone CB who has a shot to replace Haden next year.

Hakeem Butler WR Iowa State
I would love him to fall and even more love the Steelers to take him. But he doesn’t check a lot of the boxes for the Steelers to draft him.

Miles Boykin WR Notre Dame
Boykin is a phenomenal athlete who would be a nightmare to match up on like Butler but imo has a few more question marks than Butler.

I think there is no chance in hell Butler makes it to 3. Thankfully though there is a lot of good WRs in this draft, and only two off the board.
