Is Murray Really going #1

Speaking of potential QBs in the 1st....Daniel Jones looks like a Mason Rudolph clone to me.

Jones don’t show a big arm or accuracy at the senior bowl. They say he’s smart and had poor talent around him.

By week 8 last year only a few teams in the NFL were out of contention for a playoff spot. The first team mathematically eliminated division wise was week 10 or 12. It’s not like the NBA where practically half the league is playoff eligible and the regular season is for seeding rights. Plus, and this is the biggest factor, both NBA and NHL have minor leagues. They can draft and develop players in the G league or various minor league hockey affiliates. The NFL don’t have that luxury.

Plus there is a motive for the owners to preclude it. Because then you would have teams influencing the cap by minimizing FA because they will have those 5 year first round contracts if they routinely followed the “losing “ formula and enter the lottery.

The nfl has an awesome minor league. It’s called college football and it cost them zero dollars. There is also the cfl and arena ball. Isn’t the xfl starting again? There is also a 10 man developmental practice squad.

When week 10 ends if a team is not better than 4-6 their playoff shot is slim. I think bad teams are more prone to tank. Why should we reward tanking with a guarantee? I’d rather see a weighted lottery with the worst 12 teams getting a chance for top three picks.

Like I said before you might not live to see the Steeler have another top three pick, but with a lottery system the chances are much greater.

Lottery for the NFL......that’s the stupidest idea you’ve posted Coach

I don't know.....Actually, I believe this will be adopted at some point. It is a big deal for the NBA, & ratings are through the roof, and the NFL draft is huge already.

I can see this being implemented after the lockout to win back fans.

Lottery for the NFL......that’s the stupidest idea you’ve posted Coach and you’ve posted plenty of crazy ones. 16 games to determine a playoff spot. Not 82 games like NBA and NHL.

I think the number of players has more to do with it. Basketball has 5 that play offense and defense, football has 22 that play either/or. One superstar player can turn a basketball team around a lot faster than a football team.

I have an alternative idea for the draft that involves granting teams points (similar to draft board) and then allowing teams to choose where they pick, with the worst team having the most point and choosing their picks first until their points were exhausted. So, instead of having the #1 pick overall, the Cards could choose to have the #10 and #15 picks in the first round (or whatever is the equivalent in points). They would essentially be able to trade down or up at will. New England would be left with whatever picks were left.

that is ******* idiotic

Why? It’d give the worst teams in the league much more flexibility in rebuilding. The worst team could still choose to have the first pick in every round if it so wanted.

we dont apply socialism to football

First off, they are not minor leagues. NCAA has no team affiliation with the league, nor does CFL. How many players make the league rosters? Minuscule. AFL is defunct. XFL will not have team affiliation. Oliver Luck has said they are not competing with the NFL.......yet.

So....without team affiliation it’s not a “minor league” system. As previous stated the amount of players involves dictates a NFLE type feeder league.

This is why the cardinals will continue to be the cardinals, they've at best screwed with Rosen's head, ar worst they pick Murray and never get value for Rosen.

Speaking of disfunction, Here's hoping Chucky tips over the apple cart im Oakland and drafts a QB in round 1, Antonio Brown with a rookie QB...all those ******* in silver and black deserve each other, this needs to happen....

True some teams just seem to shoot themselves in the foot when they trigger moves like this.

If the Raiders do draft a QB I hope he takes a camera crew with him to Antonio Brown's house unannounced so he can introduce himself.
Let's see that face as the door opens. Maybe he will block the doorway and push him to the ground, causing him to scrape his throwing arm. At least this time it will have video evidence to support the pressing of charges.

^^^ You get it. The lottery probably increased interest on the NHL draft too. Any time your leagues name is mention it’s a plus.
