Greetings all,

Just a quick message.

I'm glad you are enjoying the board. Despite the ever growing presence of social media, it is nice to know that the message board is still the #1 place to discuss Steelers and the NFL, among other topics.

I also want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Justin for running this board and the social media pages, while working and being a new dad. His commitment and dedication to keeping us as the #1 Steeler fan page on Instagram and THE best Steelers boards and sites on the planet cannot be understated. Ditto for our beat writers and everyone involved in keeping us going.

BUT (you knew there was a "BUT" in there):

Running this site is not free. We have invested to continuously improve this site, and there are costs to be incurred to help us grow.

I do appreciate the few of you who do contribute on a monthly, 6 months or yearly basis. We wouldn't be where we are without you.

BUT (you knew there was a "BUT" in there),

There are only a FEW of you who contribute. The truth is there are a lot of you who spend a lot of time on here and don't contribute a dime to the site. Let me ask you, are you ok with using this site and can't contribute $8 a month? If you're ok with it, carry on. But I'll tell you, the site can't go anywhere if the contributions dry up. That's the truth.

All I ask is, if you see tremendous value in what we offer, then consider contributing.

Thanks for listening.

It is quick and easy, just click the Contribute link at the top of the page....

Gone for ever then comes back to ask for money

Good to see you post anyway Buffy

I'd just like to chime in and say that I'm sorry to everyone who has constantly given money to this site, or to gofundme's that I've posted or anything of the like. Its very well appreciated, and I know who ALWAYS helps.

I've been trying to find other ways to help generate revenue and ones that can help you guys out too. Like the deal with Fanatics, or the SN gear etc. So there isn't a lack of effort from our part.

Also I know there has been some corks in the payment systems that might've rubbed people the wrong way and all we can do is say we're sorry. Usually it isn't our fault. Unfortunately it's usually user error, but I know we've tried to always right the ship.

Justin, Coolie, Buff etc. appreciate all the hard work and the site. My only hang up Justin was getting you a check out timely. I know you take PayPal but I refuse to do business with them https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/san-jose/profile/payment-processing-services/paypal-inc-1216-210387/customer-reviews.

But there is something called Zelle that a lot of our banking apps (most if not all big banks have it now I heard) have and it's a really easy way to transfer money. Maybe on our next 6 month go Justin, we can give it a try. For others, you may want to look into it, and it's a really easy way to transfer money, and it's safe as long as you do the transfers with people you know and trust. Never use it with unknowns.

Again, thanks for all the hard work and great perks. I love this place and you're stuck with this d-bag now.

we could always get your money then ban you

I'm working on some things for my personal businesses in the way of marketing, driving traffic, etc. Let me bang my head against the wall and see if anything shakes loose that I might be able to work on for the site. I know we have advertisers who sell merchandise. What kind of a percentage do we get from them (private message me if you are even allowed to at all)? I am wondering if driving traffic to them as an affiliate (SteelerNation) would be worth the effort.

Start a porn site dedicated to nude pictures of DoucheBagS, aka, Ogre, aka DBS. $0.99/month to join, $3.99 month to NOT join.

You will make a fortune!

Admittedly, I didn't always contribute here, but have for a while now. The information and camaraderie is worth giving up a cup at Starbucks once a month.

Save your pocket change, it only works out to about 27 cents a day, and no one want to see those DBS pics.

No disrespect intended but are the contributor tags outdated? I see 22 with just a little bit of looking. From an outsider perspective someone might be wait a minute I see all these contributes? .And if some people knew the costs of the site, that might be incentive to contribute as well.

I never check to see if I'm still listed as a contributor. I just did a "fire and forget" a few years ago...

Oh, look! There it is!

There are 51 contributors. Some are on freebies that I've given out to people coming across some hard times. Some are those who signed up at DKs site and got a free three months. Some are veterans that were given both tags when we give out free subscriptions for that.

So we have 51 contributors and we have over 9000 members. Out of the 9000 members we have 357 at this moment that have been active in the last 24 hours. That means signed in and viewing the board. During the season it's around 600-700 and more on gameday.

Last year the site was crashing a lot heading into the season. After spending tons of time trying to figure out what was causing it I learned that it was due to the volume of users online at once. So we had to upgrade to an independent server from a group. That costs around $100 a month for the amount of bandwidth and such that we need.

When things weren't going too hot around here we invested $2500 to design and create a news site. It's been wildly a success and things are going great.

Last year we had to pay for a plateform to host the podcast. Due to the shows being so long and once a week I had to upgrade that size. Thats $25 a month. I pay $10 a month for mobile Tapatalk app. Every year we have to re-up the domain names. We have two of those. We have to pay for security protection, and things to back up the files on the server.

Lastly I spend nearly 6-8 hours daily doing things on social media, or stuff behind the scenes to keep growing this site. There is constantly maintenance on this or that. I have constant emails, or DMs because someone needs something or someone is unhappy about this poster or that poster. I have tailgates that include all you can eat and drink Stoney's for $5 if you're in Pittsburgh for a game.

I personally dedicate so much of my time and effort to this site and truth be told if I wouldn't of stepped up this site would be the ghost town it turned into back in 2015.

Lastly I'd like to thank all of our vets of the US Military and I'll try to find some type of way to honor you, but we just aren't going to be able to give you all of the function that a paid membership gets any longer. When I find some time and figure out how to do it again I'll be changing your statuses.

Oh, and in the last year I've been out of a job twice. This time is with a newborn coming/here. I still found a way (last time with the help of a few of you) and this time to keep paying the monthly payments out of my pocket to keep things normal here.

I might have just got you money with my general questions. Thanks for the reply.. Will be good for posters to know this information.

if your moderators didn't suck they could possibly help you with some of the emails or dms with people complaining......

except it is probably that ******* CoolieMan that posters are complaining about
