The Athletic took three PG writers today. Huge blow.

Why would anyone pay for content that you can get for free at 100 sites? Oh no, not ads and pop ups. FAIL biz strategy.
 
Ed Douchette. ******* guy thinks he is god's gift to pittsburgh. Had to stop reading and following his dumb ***. Not sure who's paying for the Athletic. I signed up with DK in his first year and have been there ever since.

You can tell how cocky the douche still is. I stopped reading his crap a long time ago. And won't be reading his new crap.
 
I like Bouchette, tells it like it is, he's the first one I heard tell the AB thing like it happened and come to Bens defense. He said AB messed up the hot route, Ben wanted it run again so everyone had it right, AB got mad, he and Ben did talk Thursday morning, then the JuJu team MVP was announced and AB went crazy.
 
Tough loss for the Post-Gazette, but it is an opportunity for them to capitalize and move in a new direction to keep up with some of the content produced by other sites. I haven't signed up for DK's site, but he was consistently one of the best Steelers writers, particularly when it came to training camp coverage.

I bought a year of the Athletic around black Friday for $20 or so. I wouldn't pay 10$ a month for it, but I do enjoy it.
 
There will never be a day I'd pay 120 dollars a year to read these guys opinions. Cause that's all they are. And in most cases it's just the company line. Labriola is unreadable. He is a condescending prick who despite the fact that he looks like he never even played the sport. Knows all.

That is like $1198.80 Canadian. I agree, I have a couple Steelers Fan Friends here. When we talk about the team they are always 2 steps behind. They will ask me how I know so much about the team, I always say Steelernation.com I get my official announcements from the team website and its alerts, but insights come from the many knowledgeable people like you IRON City.

No disrespect to any of the many sites mentioned positively or negatively, but the posters here are pretty damn knowledgeable and are quick studies in regards to developing Steelers news stories.

Again just giving posters here their due, not dissing any site...
 
I've gone on record as this is the BEST site in all the world. AMAZINGLY how knowledgeable some here are. One of the appealing parts is MOST are not afraid to admit fault and I admire that. Hell I had a Beacon cooker......... **** tasted like plastic until I found a BACON cooker then all was dang good. Point I'm making is it's a fun place and I appreciate all heights of participants. Do we get heated at times, HELL yea but then that shows to our common passion of our BELOVED team. I pale in technical knowledge but more than make up for it in my spelling prowess. Let's Keep on keeping this place Above the Neck and with in the grass of our playing field.

AND, yes just to be clear, I thank ALL who post as it takes many a personalities / level of knowledge / debauchery / gamesmanship / etc. to make a place so appealing such as this.

You are another poster I really respect in terms of accuracy, knowledge and judgement. What I find is that when stuff goes down with the Steelers, media/ world reacts a certain way. This place has a take (though diverse mind you in opinion). The long game generally plays out to reasonable consensus opinion here.
