Not many draftniks are mentioning it, but we DO need depth at RB. Conner is a nice story, and all, but it's unlikely he will stay healthy, and Samuels is not an every down NFL RB. He's OK to sprinkle in there, but we need more than he can offer, especially if JC goes down.

I'm not advocating using our 1st round pick on a RB, but they NEED to draft one.

So who? I'll skip the guys who will be taken before the 3rd. Too many needs at ILB, CB, TE, OLB, WR.

Wes Hills, SRU. 6', 210, 4.5 40. Avg. 7 ypc. If he's there in the 4th, take the back from The Rock.

David Montgomery, IA St, 5-10, 222, 4.65 40. Listed as 5th best back, but too slow for my tastes.

Justice Hill, OK St, 5-9, 198. 4.4 40. Fast. From the school that gave us Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas. Could be there in the 5th.

Bennie Snell, Jr. KY, 5-10, 224. 4.64 40. Not that fast, but productive with NFL DNA. Would be a fan favorite, could be there in the 6th.

Oh, and this guy, maybe could get as an UDFA

Steelers have been looking at RBs, and with Ridley not returning it should be no surprise when they add 1..

Harris,,Sanders,Scarlett, Homer,,Hill, and Weber have been looked at
/ talked to.

I like Justice Hill alot and he did come in for a visit. I doubt he is there in the 5th but if he is there in the 4th, I'd have a hard time not taking him.

HILLS IS WHERE THE TOYS ARE!

Funny "Hills" story Omar, so Michael Jackson's "Thriller" came out in '82 (I think) and my mom took me to Hills in East McKeesport and I was probably about 5 years old. Hills had TVs on the shelves and they were playing Thriller. So it caught a young kid's attention and it was the beginning when the car broke down and they started walking.

Then Jackson goes to the ground in pain and this is what comes up:

"Holy ****, what just happened? Mom!" I'm pretty sure I didn't use holy ****, but I was probably screaming like the girl in the scene. So Hills will always have a special place in my heart.

Snell later.

I've read they really like Snell.

Kentucky RB Benny Snell Jr. said he met with the Steelers at his Pro Day, who sent RBs coach Eddie Faulkner to his workout. Dude feels like he's going to become a Steeler. Has the size, power, and production they covet. #Steelers

What round(s) has he been slated to go? And I don't care how fast he is, he was extremely productive (and consistent) in one of the best conferences in college football.

I think OP wrote J-Sam off to casually. We don't know anything of his endurance / injury / etc.. I still think a late rounder and Benny Snell looks like a STEELERS beast.

I would gladly exchange the old (Brown.Bell, Ben) Killer B's for the new (Ju Ju , Justice, Ben) JuJuBe's

Miles Sanders would be my second option for RB

Thanks Ark. I admittedly have only watched highlights and heard from some fans of UK, but the big knock I'm seeing from these sites is his pass protection. I've heard that one of his big positives was actually his blitz pick-up ability. He was never used much in the passing game, but we've got two guys that are pretty efficient in that area.

I'd like to see this guy in a Steeler uniform as a bruiser short-yardage goal-line type guy. In the later rounds of course.

If we are going to take a RB, it should be more of a fast, change of pace guy. Neither Conner or Samuel are speedsters. Someone with speed and moves is who you would want to get.

We need a 3rd string RB, preferably one who can add value on special teams as a kick coverage man or return man.

With 10 draft pick's I'm okay with a 6th or 7th round pick being spent on such a player.

Needs like CB, ILB, WR, S and Edge are greater than 3rd string RB. You could argue a back up TE is a bigger need too.

Yeah, im thinking no earlier than 4th. Unless there is someone you just cant pass up on.

I think he could be a valuable player, just not a week-in-week-out, every down RB. He did have the one big rushing game, but he had more carries that game than in any game of his life, high school and college included. I just don't think he serves as a solid #2, which is trusted on as the main HB if the starter goes down. We will be in trouble if we don't have someone to carry the full load if JC goes down. Samuels is more like a specialty player, not a bread-and-butter NFL RB.

I'd be looking at RB somewhere in the round 4-6 range.
