Hopefully Ben and the O can take advantage of their banged up secondary.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens will face quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers without their top cornerback.

Jimmy Smith is out "a few weeks" with a sprained left foot that he injured on the opening drive of Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, according to coach John Harbaugh.

"He'll be back soon," Harbaugh said Monday.

The Ravens will be without top cornerback Jimmy Smith against the Steelers.
The Ravens are down to three healthy cornerbacks on the roster -- Lardarius Webb, Dominique Franks and Chykie Brown -- with Smith hurt and Asa Jackson on short-term injured reserve. A team doesn't want to be short-handed when facing Roethlisberger, who threw for 522 yards and six touchdowns in Sunday's 51-34 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Smith, a 2011 first-round pick, is the Ravens' top defensive back and is one of the emerging young defenders in the NFL. He leads the Ravens with eight passes defensed and has limited some of the best receivers in the NFL, including A.J. Green, Antonio Brown, Kelvin Benjamin and Vincent Jackson.

Harbaugh declined to comment on whether the Ravens would make a move by Tuesday's trade deadline. He said the team doesn't have to add a free-agent cornerback but indicated it would be something the Ravens would consider.

"If we could find the right guy, [but] they're scarce," Harbaugh said.

Also, Harbaugh confirmed the Ravens sent in the tape of Steve Smith's offensive pass interference penalty to the NFL for review but has not heard back from the league.

"I think it shows great heart and talent and says a lot about Joe [Flacco] and Steve and the offensive line that they could make a play like that," Harbaugh said. "It was one of the greatest plays I've ever seen.

What a ******* cheating whining douchebag. There is no doubt in my mind about that call being correct. They have gotten so use to getting the calls they don't even know what to do when they get one against them. I hate these *******.

remember a few years back when one of the Ravens players spit in the face of an opposing kicker? Harbaugh said there was NO WAY, ANY of his players would do something like that. Then the tape emerged SHOWING the player spitting, and he still said he didn't believe it? That's all you need to know about Harbaugh...

The only reason the Rats and the NFL do not want to help in the Ray Rice investigation is the truth about what they really knew and when is going to come out and a bunch of those ******* are going to be in for a new shitstorm... lying POS front office

I pulled this from user comments at the bottom of the page in the article. User's name was Chilcott (just to give him the citation)

Check out these stats - No other team in the league since 2010 has benefited more from pass interference calls than the Ravens...Having watched them for years I know that heaving the ball up and hoping for the call is definitely in their playbook.

2014 - 8 calls for 187yds (leads league)
2013 - 14 calls for 295yds (league leader)
2012 - 16 calls for 243 yds (league leader)
2011 - 11 calls for 280 yds (2nd place in league)
2010 - 12 calls for 269 yds (league leader)

Its called Karma....

Not to mention they won the SB because the ref decided to eat the flag. They need to shut the **** up.

I'd like to see it too but when is the last time we took advantage of a banged up secondary?

Harbaugh is King of the Douches. He was born with a Tampax between his legs. I can't stand the sight of him more than any player on that team and I loathe them.

Greatest play he's ever seen? Yea, wait until you watch AB's left arm TD grab from yesterday. No push-off needed, Johnny.

Remember these asswipes complaining about playing the steelers on PRIME time games, at night at the STEELERS and they didn't want to. Well now look who plays where at night. These cry whiney ******* need a wippin this weekend and fucco needs his uni soiled.

ummmmmmm Hello! did you not watch Big Ben's Historic performance this past weekend?

Last game. Colts were missing their best corner for most of the game and they got ripped because of it, as well as outstanding play by everyone on the steelers team.

Nuff said...

I stand corrected - X3. Unfortunately, I was treated to the Browns - Raiders so didn't get to see the game and the fact we were facing an injured secondary. In the past, we don't seem to exploit the weaknesses of the defenses we face so this was a pleasant surprise.

Ah, so you live in a town that doesn't have a single sports bar, huh...

Take Flacco out of the game...ANd please 43 learn how to tackle again.

I have a flex question - should I bench Forsett and play Bryant?

Basically they are going to blitz every down... right? I mean they kind of have to....

Are you refering to the Rats or us?

Coach LeBeau needs to have our guys pin their ears back every week going forward to cover up this weak secondary...

If Bert goes down - it'll be a cake walk...

With Smith out that leaves the Rats without a tall option to cover Bryant. I bet they stick Webb on AB but he should win more than his fair share of battles in that match up. Franks on Wheaton and Bryant should be fairly matched in my opinion. Franks is a vet so I could see him doing a good job on them. He is a bigger CB at around 6 ft and pretty quick but I think Wheaton and Bryant have the talent advantage so I guess we will see if either one can compensate for Franks experience. Personally I see the weak spot at Brown. He is a decent cover guy but like our very own Ike Taylor has hands of stone. I personally play a lot of 3 WR sets and then put Bell out in coverage to try to get mismatches. I also think Miller should have a good game being a safety value for Ben if Bryant can clear out some space for him in the middle. But the performance of the offensive line is in the end what will determine this game. As seen in the Browns game our line got man handled and didn't give Ben that 1 extra second to find the open receiver and even though they looked better against the Colts I will remind you that the Colts had a lot of injured defensive linemen that game so lets see how the handle a healthy Ravens front line.

Gotta hope the coaches find a weakness and attack it. If that's their secondary then we need to protect Ben and block the big kids up front, Ngata, Thuggs and Dumervil. Last time we had a ****** turnover as we were closing in on scoring very early in the game, it stunned us and we never recovered. We need to take care of the football and make the Rats pay for their mistakes. Same ****, different day.

What a bunch of whiney assed cry baby *******...They really sent the tape of that to the NFL?!?!?

Whats the NFL response? "Ok Mrs. Harbaugh from here on out your receiver can grab the defender and throw him to the ground...."

WTF
