Owners approve PI call and noncall reviews

A step in the right direction. Games shouldn't be decided on non calls or bad calls.

A good move. There is nothing worse than losing a game late in the 4th quarter due to a bad PI that leads to a score or prevents the other team from getting the ball back due to a new set of downs.

The devil will be in the details. How many challenges, what is the criteria for an overturn. The first year it happened in the CFL it was horrible. They refined it and it got better. It really became a gamesmanship the first year. You have to realize that what is not PI at full speed in the context of the rest of the game becomes debatable when the call is big. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you watch the handfighting on most deep balls there is some level of impediment. Coaches are smart and its gonna change the course of the game. Most of you are looking at the Haden plays. You have to think about a tricky tack call against the Steelers late in a game. It will be a **** show for the first year. That I will guarantee.

Also, the Patriots probably don't get past Jacksonville last year if this rule is in place. There was a horrible PI call in the 4th vs a Jax DB with NE down by ten, it was like a 30-40 yard penalty when the coverage was perfect.

This rule had to be made, it's to big of a call/no call to be ignored, especially when the result can be a 40+ yard penalty

The hard Knox article was kind of interesting. It would be great to have Oakland designated. Imagin big chest and that **** show attention giving / grabbing hoe that he is..............................mix in Burfdefect and WhoALa, gold right there.

Suppose to announce the lucky winner as soon as the end of this week.

I hear it was voted in 31 to 1. I wonder who was the one that voted against it. My guess, *pats. Why would they want to fix it and hurt themselves.

Anyone know who the lone wolf was?

Sorry, I was being lazy. It was Mike Brown - Cincy.

Tom you hit on this pretty squarely. Hail Mary passes will either be increased or decreased by 1000%.

I’ll add one other tidbit. Now that Vegas is “legal” they had to have more transparency with the officials otherwise.....well we all know there would be rigged anger from the fans. But angered bookies? Nope the league don’t want that. Look what happened to boxing.

Give each coach 5 power reviews on any call or non call for a season. Otherwise teams will abuse this new rule.

Coach, it's just like a challenge, you get two initially then a third if correct. This is per game and "red" flag challenge........rules apply. UNLESS I missed something. As for abuse, being it's first year I'm sure it will be but also realize yaz best use some strategy as to your challenges. OUR head coach now has a strategist for these kinds of things..............

You're right. Long passes being viewed over and over in slow motion. I'm afraid it will resemble a basketball game under close scrutiny.

I don't like this one. Overreaction to single play. I prefer the proposal by the coaches that wanted to have a ref in the booth to overrule obviously wrong calls on the field.

I agree with something like this. I understand the frustration of it. I just think this will open a whole other can of worms. And like regular replay you end up unsure what will stand and what won't. Great ****** play by the defender. Oh he nicked him on the way going up. The overrule should have to require clear and indesputeable evidence. And like regular replay you will get an erosion of the referees ability to make good real time calls.

I thought I read it was the Steelers that voted against it. This absolutely HAD to be changed, way too many games (and not just ours) decided by bullshit penalties.

Great progress:
in 2019 they change a rule that cost the Steelers a playoff spot in 2018.
In 2018 they changed a rule that cost Steelers top seed in AFC playoffs.

What is gonna **** the Steelers in 2019 season?

Beat me to it.

another missed false start I'm guessing.

I don't mind the PI rule, because it's usually such a huge penalty yardage wise, but how can they not review an obvious false start? PI's are judgement calls, a false start is black and white what is a false start and isn't. The Charger linemen moved a full second before the ball was ever snapped.

It shouldn’t need reviewed because there’s zero reason for a fucjing line judge/umpire to miss it in the first place. It still amazes me at how that one was missed. There are guys who time the snap, and make it awful close, and then there’s that abortion. That was totally ******* pathetic.
