Found it to be a good read.

At the combine, Savage measured in at 5106, 198-pounds with 31-inch arms and 9 1/8-inch hands. He ran his 40 yard-dash in 4.36-seconds, did 11 reps on the bench, posted a vertical jump of 39.5-inches and a broad jump of 10’6″. He also had a short shuttle time of 4.14-seconds and a 3-cone time of 7.03-seconds.

During his career at Maryland, Savage registered 8 interceptions, 14 pass breakups and 182 total tackles of which 9 resulted in lost yardage.

At this year’s Senior Bowl, Savage was named one of the few Defensive Practice Players of the Week.

Not an ideal size for a S but he does have speed and can cover ground. And seems decent against the run and pass as well as being able to play FS. I would be ok with a late 3rd or a 4th rounder thrown in his direction.

What happened to the safety we drafted last year?

He is still there, scheme dictates a lot of S options.

In this game I saw he took some bad angles deep, so I would keep him a little closer in early. But like his speed.

I was trying to look at White VS Bush. Seeing how both have been mocked to the Steelers.

If you are looking for a pure ILBer close up, can get off blocks. White is the ticket.

If you are looking at flow to the ball pull back into coverage Bush is the ticket.

I think close up Bush will have issues getting off blocks. His game is definitely more attractive off the ball.

Two different players on how they play not necessarily how they are used. As I saw them at times used similarly.

The clear difference IMO is Bush fits that ILBer cover mentality. And White is more of a get off his man penetrator.

So if you want the better run defender White hands down. And he can flow sideline to sideline fine.

A better coverage ILBer Bush gets my nod.And seems like the better fit for what the Steelers are trying to do. And I can see some Barron similarities in Bush's game.

The more I dig, I feel stronger that trading up for a prospect like Bush would be a mistake. Not necessarily at pick 20, but to trade up? You better be looking at White.....

And if the Steelers already have a Barron, is Bush his clone?

Something to ponder.... And if the Steelers look elsewhere in 1 you will know why...

This. I have a feeling more teams are going to start employing that 3-safety look this season that the Chargers defeated the rats with.

Totally agree with you, in my opinion there is only one inside linebacker worth a first round pick and that is White. I'm OK with a WR, corner, one of the two tight ends from Iowa, or even the safety Abram from Mississippi St, who I think is the next Troy Polamolu. He plays with his hair on fire. Watch his tape, he lays the wood!

I know a lot of fans are enamored with Fant..... but he is a grab and hold type of blocker. So if we are talking a developmental blocker, I immediately knock him down a round for that. Doesn't always run the best routes not that he isn't capable in the passing game. But sometimes doesn't get attention due to Iowa spreading that ball around. So there is some good there and some wait and see there... I just wonder if I am looking at an oversized WR....

I see Fant as a 2/3 type of prospect...
